We'd like to eat at Blue Bayou ONLY for the boat dessert. I can't eat seafood and wouldn't really like a long meal with 3 small kids there.

Can they take reservations for a dessert only seating? Ok - dessert and drinks.

Also, does Carnation take reservations?

Lastly, we are thinking about the Ariel's grotto lunch in CA. My daughter is 16 months old and will not be huge on the princess thing. My boys are 3 and 5 and like the princesses LOL. Is this a too girly thing to take them too? Worth the money? Good food? We will be doing 4 character breakfasts, so it's not like we won't have the character interaction, but they do like the princesses. :goodvibes

When you make reservations, they don't ask what you'll be eating. :) I have an 11:30am reservation one of our days, and I'm still 50/50 on whether or not we'll eat lunch along with our cookie boat. :upsidedow

Did you notice they also have a portobello mushroom dish at BB?

If your boys are into princesses, why not go to Ariel's? If my boy had expressed a huge interest in princesses (perhaps when he's a bit older and his opinions didn't change from moment to moment?) I would go.

Though...4 character b'fasts, yowza! We're doing one and it feels like almost too much! :)

I don't know about Carnation...

Thanks. I figured they wouldn't ask what we were eating, but I was thinking perhaps the server wouldn't appreciate that? Likely not. I did see the portobello mushroom dish (which DH drooled over), but I can't stand mushrooms LOL.

I might look into the Ariel's more. I think it's likely as expensive as the other character meals, so we probably should just stick with what we've got and save the money for souvenirs. We did 4 character breakfasts last time, and it was so much fun. Pricey, but fun.

Thanks again! :)

Carnation does take priority seating reservations, and I would highly recommend it. I've seen the standby line get pretty long, and move very slowly.

We have taken our DD's twice to Ariel's Grotto and they loved it both times. I don't see why your boys wonuldn't have a good time, too. If I remember right it cost around $90.00 total (they include the tip), and that was for 3 adults , one child (DD's were 13 & 10). The food was good and the portions are HUGE. We ended up taking leftovers back to our hotel.

I will NEVER forget the first time we went to Cinderella's Royal Table at WDW. Our DD was 13 and our DS was 3. He LOVED the princesses and walked out of the castle with 4 different sets of lip prints and a huge smile on his face. It was priceless! He is now 10 and still loves all the pretty girls! BTW, we will be visiting the princesses at Ariel's Grotto in October!
