Has anybody had the plan for 14 days stay? How much did it cost?, does the whole family have take the plan? Is it worth it?

we have got the plan starting next week for 14 nights 2 adults and 2 children......total cost was approx £700
hth

Everyone in the party must take it & it must be for the duration of your stay. I suppose it depends on what you want to eat, looking on what's available it wouldn't suit our family but that's just us!

11 nights, 4 adults, 3 children and 1 infant costs £1,385.23

From what I can work out we are going to save a packet by doing this. Actually going to work out some kind of dinning plan and post it up here to see what people think and make sure I am getting the biggest bang for my bucks (notice how I have the American lingo all sorted LOL).

Hi Natalie

Exactly how does it work, the meal plan. I have read a little about it but maybe its me, its still not clear as to what you get. What happens if you miss something for a reason, can you save them up?

Any help would be great, we are (and will still be next July) 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 infant (he'll be 2.5)

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve, you can eat when you like and you have a great choice. If you don't want to eat that day you can save the meals for another day, you just have to use them all before you leave on you last day as you don't get any refunds. My plan is to use the meals for the expensive places as my understanding is you can pick what you like as your meal so if the meal is $200 then so what, one thing some of the really expensive places take 2 meals from your dinning plan for the 1 meal but if you think about it like them taking $40 (2 x $20 cost) for a $200 meal then it works out cracking value. Well that's my understanding anyway.

Can read more here

and they have a list of restaurants.

Hi there,

Thanks for that we are starting to plan and being use to all inclusive for the last 2 years, it will be a bit of a shock to suddenly have to pay.

Steve

Hi again

for myself, wife and 3 kids it will be £ 61.00 per day. Its a little difficult to judge as we have been on some all inclusives the last 2 years, but when we went to WDW in April 2002, I cant remember us spending over 60 quid a day on food.

Does that not seem a lot, bear in mind that a lot of kids tend to pick anyway. Not sure, I am trying to relate it to spending that much at home each day on food, I know it is not a fair comparrison, but it seem shigh.

Thanks again for your help

Cheers

Steve

I think it depends on how you spend the table service side of things, like if you not going to try any of the really nice restaurants then you’re not going to get great value out of it. Also don’t forget you get a quick meal during the day and 1 snack each day also, these all mount up. I think the up front part of it makes it look like your spending more than you would but I personally think if you spend it wise you will get great value and some very nice food out of it.

I read some place great examples of how people made the most out of it, I see if I can find them as that is what made me go for it.

DD and I did the dining plan for 10 days,it was excellent. I like the fact that a 15% tip is included, although we left extra for good service.
It`ll be hard to do WDW in future without the plan.

Hi,

we used the dinning plan for 14 days in April.

We loved it, infact we are dispointed we can not get it using the dvc membership.

We were spoilt for choice on where to eat. We went to mickey's backyard bbq, this uses 2 table meal each. it was something different to do.

We saved loads, still got our invoice on what we spent. most evening meals cost $100, 2ad and 1 child, luch would cost $15, we would share a combo meal between us. and breakfast would cost $15. and 3 drinks during the day $7.50.

So if you choose expensive restaurants you will save more. :rotfl:

The most difficult part was choosing where to eat.

:rotfl: thats what ive found !! i intend to do a full restaurant review on our return, so keep an eye out for that
i found the restaurant board to be a great source of info as well

my apologies for not returning to this thread earlier

Thanks all, Last time, cause of the age of the girls we ate at the counter service it was just easier. Josh will be 2 and a half the girls, 9 and 7. I think I am with you on the fact that if you eat at the restaurants more it is a better saving.

It is diffcult so get clear, we will have a ponder on it. thanks again

Steve

Hi again

Might sound a mad thing to ask, but the dinner plans, can you use, if you want to, the bigger one for the evning meal at the counter services instead?

I know it sounds mad, but I dont know that we would always want a 'sit down' retaurant meal every night.

Just a thought

Thanks

Steve

hi steve
you cannot have 2 c/service meals in place of the t/service meal but you could use your ts credit for breakfast lunch or dinner !! and then cs for wherever/whenever you want
