Hi am I working this out right. 5 of us so to up grade would b £1700. So £1700/14/5=£24
If I'm getting this right that is £24 a day for food. I think that's brill and to eat anywhere. (I'm prob looking to early but if they offer again free dining in2015 I think I will def upgrade. Pls tell me I'm right. X

Yes that's right (is this price to upgrade from QS dining plan to standard dining plan?). When working out 'value for money' don't forget to calculate tips i.e. - for 5 people you could easily pay $30 per table service meal.:)

is that to upgrade to deluxe? we just upgraded our quick to standard for £250 also 5 of us but only 7 nights

Do you mean upgrade from Regular to Deluxe? or Quick service to Deluxe?

Some like Deluxe but for others like myself its too much. The regular DDP is more than enough food. I don't want to spend half my holiday in table service restaraunts, once a day is enough. Plus the tips would be quite a lot for 5 of you.
This year we have opted to not go for free DDP due to increase costs and high tips, last year for some meals we were paying as much in tips onsite as we pay offsite for a whole meal.
You have to work out for yourself if its worth it but £1700 is a lot of money IMO.

Agreed - it depends where value and preferences lie for each family but to me £1700 would pay for a moderate resort room for 14 nights - or an upgrade to a Deluxe for 2 weeks.

To some, food is a big part of the experience. To others, and I admit to being one, food is of little importance.

But if Dining is an important part of the experience for you and you are happy with the cost, go for it. :)

Just to add to a good point Wayne raised, if you haven't already considered this: Regular DDP is going to incur its fair share of additional cost in gratuities; DxDDP is going to cost you easily double that, assuming that you average 2 TS and one CS meal a day for your entire stay. It might be worth doing the math on this one with some estimates based on prices posted on the dining link at the top of the page to give you an idea. If you need some time to think about it, do your homework first and then upgrade. Once you upgrade, if you change your mind and downgrade again, you will be charged an amendment fee for reducing the cost of your holiday

See I'm one if those where eating in a Disney TS each day is just as important as any other aspect of my trip!
I enjoy stopping off for lunch, and having that break but most the times we do QS at lunch as the boys eat better at night unless too tired!

When in Disney if its a dinner then I love to dress up to go eat, if it's dinner in a park then I wear sandals with linen trousers & a nice top, or a little sundress and cardi I just really enjoy that part of the day.

We will do the DDP wether it's free or not. So if its free then that's fab! I like my food Pre-paid and since I'm going to eat most meals in Disney anyways then I'm still going to have to tip.

I however would NOT do the deluxe not because of the price but because it's just too much food!
I don't want to take that much time out of my day to eat!
We really enjoy signatures so we try and do a couple each trip last trip we upgraded the kids to the adult plan, that way the twins shared at every meal and we used their spare credits for signature meals as they also shared there, they are good eaters but even when sharing there's more then enough food for 2.
