Disney Dining Plan ?

This is our 1st time on the Disney Dining Plan, last time we stayed at a Value Resort and got the free Quick Service Plan. My question is I thought I heard someone say that you could use one of your table service credit for a quick service meal, is this correct? Do they have separate categories for TS and QS meals? We only want to do 5 TS meals(one is CTR), we are staying 7 nights, but 1 meal CRT is 2 so that would bring us up to 6 TS meal credits. On our Hollywood Studio day, we really just want to eat a QS meal for lunch or dinner, we really aren't into any of the TS meals. We will be using a QS for bkfst that day too, so is this possible, or do we have to pick one more TS meal?

I don't think you can do that on the regular DP, but they did allow it on the Deluxe DP.

If you look at the pdf for the 2012 Dining Plan it specifically says you can use TS credits for CS. It's under the section called "Some Great Tips."

According to the 2012 Dining Plan brochure yes, you can. Remember it's only a one for one swap, and if you are paying for the dining plan that is not the greatest value for your TS credit. But if if means the TS credit would otherwise go unused, it is better than nothing.

Just a suggestion...at HS..the 50's Prime Time Cafe and Sci Fi Dine In are TONS of fun! I would totally use the TS credit at one of those two there.

I agree I would definitely use the ts meal and go to sci fi or 50s prime time. They are great Resteraunts and the qs options in hs are not so great. Have fun!

Thanks, but we ate at the 50s Prime Time 5 years ago, and weren't real impressed with it. Food wasn't that great, there was no real interaction with the wait staff, and my in-laws don't want to eat there again. The sci-fi we were thinking about but again the majority of the family doesn't want to eat there, and after looking at the menu only a plain cheeseburger (nothing but cheese and ketchup) is the only thing on the menu my husband and mother in law would eat. Besides my daughter loves pizza planet and since it's the only day that week we will be at HS, it will be our only chance to eat there.

I just wanted to make sure that if we use up CS credits early that when we get to the last day, and we want to eat CS meal, we will only have a TS meal credit left, and I just want to make sure it can be swapped, before we have to pay out of pocket and then have 1 meal go unused.

We are getting the free dining plan in September, so I'm not worried about it being a value/cost issue, as long as we don't have to pay out of pocket for any meals. We really only eat breakfast and dinner every day. We snack throughout the day.
