Hi there- i've been lurking for a while but haven't posted until now. Hopefully you can provide some of your opinions for me.

My wife (27) and I (31) will be going to WDW next May (I know I'm crazy about planning in advance) and are planning on using the Disney Dining Plan. A couple questions:

1) On the first night, we were planning on catching dinner at Ohana before going for the evening at MK. However, I'm wondering whether we should go to Kona Cafe instead. Thoughts on the 2 restaurants?

2) I had originally planned on using one of our TS meals at Mama Melrose's while at MGM. However, I'm now having second thoughts about that given the reviews and opinions I'm reading. The alternative would be to have a turkey leg or some other cheap snack for dinner while at MGM and save that TS to upgrade to a Signature meal somewhere else. We're already going to Artist's Point, but what about upgrading from BOMA to Jiko? or from Ohana/Kona to California Grill?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

We love Kona cafe and have it booked again this year. We haven't gone to Ohana because my DH has some dietary restrictions that don't make it a good choice. I know some people on the boards really hate Mama Melrose but we had a very good experience last year so we also have it booked again. We haven't tried any 2 TS restaraunts yet but this year we are going to try Narcosees because our stay is 9 days and I thought it would be nice to try something different.

We did both Kona & O'hana's this trip. It's a close one, but we really enjoyed O'hanas. As far as MM goes, we've had some really nice meals in the past, but it's been a long while since we've been there, & the reviews haven't been very good. Cali Grill was good, but that was a while ago too. Can't say I would want to give 2TS for it. I'm not sure any of the TS restaurants are really worth that. We did have a nice meal at the Yachtmen's Steakhouse at YC, but again not sure if it 's worth 2. Sorry, I'm not helping much!
