Disney Dining Plan and Reservations ??

So I know I can add the DDP 48 hours prior and I know I need to pay in full when I do but I am at the 5 month mark right now and want to make reservations at the hard to get to dining events but they are asking for my credit card and then saying paid in full? How do I get this money back after I purchase the DDP?

When you get to the restaurant, let them know that you are on the dining plan and they will credit back the card that was charged.

Unfortunately, in order to avoid the charges for those few restaurants that require advanced payment, like CRT and Hoop De Doo, you have to pay if you have not yet added the DDP.

In most cases, the cost of that is less than coming up with the full price of the DDP.

We just added the deluxe dining plan for part of our March trip. I wanted reservations at California Grill, the Aloha Dinner show, Narcosses and Hoop de doo. I would have had to pay for the 2 dinner shows up front, and then try and get reimbursement in May. I just went ahead and paid for the dining plan last week. The CM at member services went ahead and made all of our reservations for me. Paying for the DDP up front just seemed alot easier to me than trying to get reimbursement back from Disney later - just seems like extra hassle on vacation.
