My familyand I will be visiting Disney in October and are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We have qualified for the free dining plan and was wondering what people would recommend with regards using the counter service credits for breakfast at the Mara or paying for breakfast and using the quick service credit for lunch in the parks.

Could anyone tell me what you would be entitled to in the Mara for you quick service credit - the guide says entree but not sure what this covers.

Any advice greatly appreciacted - its our first time in Disney - really looking forward to it ...

If you look on allears.net the menu is there.

For a cs you can have a platter - eggs, bacon, sausage and 2 drinks.

Or use a snack credit and get a pastry or bagel.

I usually have cereal in the room. I prefer to save the snack credit for a snack.

Often my niece and I will share my CS meal for lunch so she can use her CS for breakfast on the non-park days. She's lactose intollerant and it just takes too long to get her breakfast, part of the reason we do cereal in the room.

We stayed at AKL and were on the QSDP too. At Mara, the breakfast entree using a CS credit was usually a platter with something like Mickey waffles, eggs, meat (bacon or sausage), maybe potatoes (can't remember). There were a couple of different options. They also had a lot of things for breakfast that you can use some of your snack credits for. Bagels, pastries, yogurt, fruit cup, cereal/milk, etc. We would grab a few of those and keep them in the room for those mornings when we just wanted a little something before heading out the door. A few mornings, however, my husband and I shared a CS breakfast at Mara, then shared a CS lunch in the parks, and with a couple of snack credits throughout the day, we were fine until dinner, when we each got our own meal. That's how we 'stretched' the credits. We only paid for one meal out of pocket the whole week!

We do as the PP mentioned. The breakfast platters are plenty big to share and you can add a snack credit if you need to. Also a snack purchased the day before makes a fine breakfast. When we do the regular DDP we rarely pay anything OOP and we do not bring food either.
