I am a bit confused. I am have booked my DWD package (hotel, tix & Dining Plan) and got 2 conflicting answers from the CMs. The dinning plan, does it expire at midnight of the night you book out of a Disney Hotel? Or does it expire the time (11am) you book out of the room?

When I added another night on to my reservation the CM told me I had to add another Dining Plan on so now I can have 8 days of meals. Though I am booking out the 8th day. She said I could use the 'extra meals' on other days.

How does it all work? I have read through many, many pages on meals now... Please help!
Over stuffed or starving on my Sept 2007 trip!!

Welcome to DIS!!!!!!!!

It expires midnight of your check out. Your card is still "valid" you just can't use it to get into your room.

The only way around the extra night - extra dining, is to not add a night to that reservation, but add a single night by itself (seperate reservation?? But, if this is done, maybe you have to switch rooms? :confused3
I have never done this, but I don't see why you couldn't.

The dining plan is connected to the number of NIGHTS you stay. So, if you have 5 nights book at the resort, you will have 5 table service credits, 5 counter service credits and 5 snack credits. If you then change that reservation to 6 nights you would be expected to pay for a 6ths day of the dining plan (6 table service credits, 6 counter service credits and 6 snack credits).

As for when they can be used, the dining plan is activated as soon as you check in. So, if you arrive at 2pm, your room probably won't be ready yet, but you can check in, get your room keys and head off touring. You may find that you are hungry enough to use a table service meal a counter service meal and a snack this day. But, if you are like me, you will likely only use one or two of them. Whatever you don't use, you can use on another day. My guess is that this is what the CMs were trying to say. Note: if you wanted to really be stuffed you could eat all of your meals on a single day and then starve for the rest of the vacation.

What they are referring to on the final day is simply that you can eat some of your meals after you check-out. If you are leaving early on your check-out day then you probably want to eat all of your meals ahead of time. Since 5 nights at the resort could mean 6 days in the parks, many people will take advantage of the day to tour and head home after spending at least a little time in the parks. Hence, the expiry at midnight instead of at checkout.

Have a great vacation!
