Disney Dining Plan 2009 is Available today!

I'm wondering about something that a previous poster said about having to have the meal plan booked before you make your ADRs. In April we had the DDP and it seemed that ever restaurant that we went to asked us if we were on a plan when we checked in. They didn't seem to have any indication.
I'm asking because I have made all of our ADRs for our trip in early December and at the time I booked the ADRs we hadn't decided on a meal plan. We have now decided to try the DDE (we are getting annual passes).
Will there be a problem with the ADRs that we've already booked?

I have booked the DDP after making all my ADR's and had no problems.:)

Can you mix DDDP and DDP and QDDP? Or is it all of one type for the whole stay for everybody?

I'm very torn on what to do, we arrive on Monday 2/16 and will get to the resort around 4:30, we leave on Saturday 2/21 around 1:00. I have ADR's for CRT, Brown Derby (fantasmic), LeCellier and Chefs de France. So one night I have nothing booked. Seems like the DxDDP is too much, we like grab and go during the day, and usually breakfast is in the room or on the move. But the Regular DDP, is not enough. I'm really thinking of doing the Quick Service DP, and then paying out of pocket for the dinner meals??? Sounds odd to do it this way, but would probably be the most cost effective, but will have to sit and really crunch the numbers! The day we arrive will probably be a CS meal anyway.

hmm - I just did some light math and it looks like we would probably break even using the deluxe dining plan? So maybe that is the way to go, and if I look at it like - even if there are meals left over and we don't do all Table Service, it's still a savings?? idk - it just seems like a whole lot of food - but I guess we don't have to eat it all!!

Tip is still not included right? What about app and desert?
Tips are not included in any dining plan. Only the dinner shows (HDD, Spirit of Aloha, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue) and CRT include tips in the meal price.

Regular plan includes TS appetizers only for children age 3-9 (must order from children's menu)

Deluxe plan includes TS appetizers for everyone.

The only time you MUST have the dining plan before you book a reservation is if you want to avoid prepayment for CRT or the dinner shows. These reservations require payment in full at the time of booking UNLESS you are using the dining plan. If you are on the plan, they'll take your credit card to hold the reservation and if you don't show up, you will be charged a no-show fee unless you cancel within the cancellation window.

The restaurants are going to ask when you check in because they need to know how to ring up your meal. Dining plan checks are different from out of pocket checks.

DDE (now Tables in Wonderland) is not a meal plan. You do not have to say you have it when you check in, or when you make a reservation. You present your card at a participating restaurant when you pay the check, and they take the discount off. (The only time you may need to state ahead of time that you have DDE/TIW is when you are calling to book CRT or a dinner show, because they will arrange for you to get the discounted amount back.)

I think we'll go with the original version - 1 CS, 1 TS and 1 snack per person per day when I call MS Tomorrow. ;) Ideally, a 2 CS, 1 TS and 1 snack option would suit us better, but we'll just have to pay for some breakfasts OOP. :upsidedow
