Has anyone tried the new dining package?
Is it worth it?
I am going to wdw for the first time in oct, two kids 12 and 8.
How hard is it to find the resturants and are they any good?
thanks for your help!

I'm also going in October and am on the dining plan. I got alot of great advice from the restaurant forum. You can find the answers there. Great reviews of the dining plan and the restaurants! :cheer2:

We just did the free dining last week. Same thing just mine was free.

YES the dining plan is worth it DH and I never had a TS dinner for less than a 100.00 if we'd had to have paid out of pocket. CS for an adult is 7.00 and up plus drinks. Snacks are 2.00 to 2.50.

I made our AR's a few weeks before we went. Got all the AR's I wanted usually close to the time I wanted 1 was a bit early but we ate a light lunch that day.

We was NEVER hungry and could have shared many of the meals since the dining was free we wanted to be open to trying more things and shared each others meals by way of tasting.

Now had my 15 yr old DD been along she would not have paid off if we had to pay for the dining plan. DD is VERY VERY picky about her food. Eats a limited diet and doesn't eat much at one time. We would have shared TS meals with her and saved her TS credit meals for us. As all the TS meals we had we could get a salad which she would have ate and she would have ate dessert. DH and I would have had enough food to share with DD and no one would have been hungry.

We choose to use our TS meals for dinner as that is the most expensive meal. We choose not to do buffets but each to his own there. We only ate at TS that required 1 TS credit.

DH has already said it's gonna be hard to do disney without the dining plan in the future. In the past we only at CS meals and limited those to 1 or 2 during our visit mostly at peanut butter sandwiches in the room.

I still suggest checking out the restaurant board.

Alissa,

Just got back from WDW with the Magic your way with dining and had a blast. Restaurants were easy to find, meals were great, and there is so much food for the plan you will probably have left over meals on the last day. Use the chart on the WDW site and see which places there are. Use the allearsnet site to look at menus and decide which places appeal to you and make your ADR's for places you like and you will be set. DW, DD, and I tried so many places we were never unhappy with a meal. Just posted a dining review on Restaurant section if you are interested. Any questions, please let me know. Have a great time - we did for our first trip. :wizard: :Pinkbounc :earsgirl: :earsboy:

We just got back and did the free dining. I think the dining plan is worth it, especially if you're big eaters and use all your TS credits for dinners. We used some of the TS credits for character breakfasts and one lunch. There were a few meals where we didn't get all the appetizers or desserts that we were entitled to because we were stuffed!!

The choice of restaurants is very large but there are some that don't take the dining plan or you need 2 TS credits. You can check online for the list.
