Disney Dining Experience Card

They really are more strict on DDE discounts than they use to be. For whatever reason a manager has to actually approve the transaction.
They very well could ask for ID. And the membership card is for FL and AP holders.
We are rarely asked for ID, but have been occasionally asked for a picture ID. :confused3
More often than not, we pay by debit card. And the name matches between the debit card and DDE card. But we still have been occasionally asked for the photo ID too.
The DDE membership is good from the day of purchase, not activation.
The renewals I think cost the same as buying a new membership. And it seems to raise every year too, and/or have limitations. Separate checks use to be common. Now they refuse to do them. (Just as an FYI.) And the DDE use to be good on all days. Now major holidays it is of no use.
Just returned from my trip, using my NEW DDE card, and yes a Manager MUST approve the card, but I was only asked ONE time to see my ID. Also, confusion with servers putting us down for Dining PLAN not DDE card, so make sure you show them the Card!:thumbsup2 I paid 65.00 and it paid for that this whole trip, I saved 70.00!

For us just one dinner at V&A saves us the annual cost of the card. And before it expires, we do 3 trips and 3 dinners at V&A.
It's a great deal for us..

So the Card expires one year from the day you order it, not 1 year from the day you use it? We are going in November, If i decide to get this card when should I order it or should I get it when I am there?

Just call the DDE office and they will be happy to let you know if your card will arrive in time before your trip. And when it will expire. As I understand it, if you order it before the 7th of a month, it expires the last day of the following month. But again, the DDE CM's can tell you better.

Is the renewal cost for the card cheaper than the inital cost of the card?

Thanks

I am an AP holder, and not a FL resident. If I pay by cash I have been asked for ID. If I use my room key or credit card, they match the names on the card to the DDE card.
The DDE holder must be present to use the card.
