Could someone please tell me if by chance I would be able to purchase the Disney dining experience card with a AP voucher?
I let my AP run out and we are going to have to buy new AP's. We are planning 3 trips in one years time, we thought the DDE would be a smart move. :)

Thanks,

I just checked the Allears site, thanks for the info. :thumbsup2
The one piece of info I am not finding is when it expires. Does it expire 1 yr from the purchase or from the first use?

The expiration date is related to purchase date, not use date. I think it gives you an extra month though depending on what time of the month you purchased. For example, I bought mine in mid March and it doesn't expire until the end of April 2007. I'm sure someone knows the exact formula for this, lol. (meaning which date to order to get the most time out of it!)

We love our DDE card! I swear that we paid for it in free valet parking alone :).

That formula is so important My last trip on my AP will be 2 weeks before my AP expires. We were hoping to get the most out of the DDE card.

We're getting the 3'rd use of the DDE card (and our AP) on our September trip this year.
Can't beat that!!!

Can I confirm that the DDE can be purchased with an AP voucher in hand? I read on a DDE newsletter (that we are still on a mailing list for) that an activated AP is required to order/renew the DDE card.

I just ordered my AP's for our December trip. I wanted to order my DDE card in early November so it would arrive in early/mid December in time for our later December trip.

Thank you!!

Hi Sheryl!

I don't know for sure, but I want to offer you my experience. Last time I ordered the card, I did not have my seasonal pass, but I told them I would be getting one and they said no problem and sold me the DDE, saying that I had to show my seasonal pass when I presented the card (which I never had to do, BTW.)

Well, we will be going to WDW Oct 28-Nov 5 and my DDE card expires Oct 31. I called to get it renewed and told the gal on the phone that I did not have my seasonal pass yet, I would be buying it at the resort the first day. She said I HAD to have the SP before getting the DDE, so she suggested I just call DDE when I get to WDW and purchase my SPs and they will have a temporary DDE waiting for me at Epcot.

P.S. I am also a FL resident and could purchase the DDE that way, but the difference in price is like, $20 I think, so I wanna get the DDE for less, and the SP will let me do that.

I hope this made sense and helps. You CAN call from WDW and have a temp card issued. Just remember, they are not open on the weekends.

WLL: We need to syncronize our trips! DARN! I was going to be at WDW for the Ladies Trip at the end of this month, but had to cancel because we bought a new car :(.

Our DDE card expired in August right before the end of our last trip. We were going to "skip it" this next year since the people we do New Year's Eve with don't do sit-down restaurants except on NYE when the card is "blacked-out". We won't be doing WDW next summer because we're going to Disneyland ... Tokyo and Hong Kong :cool1: instead. BUT ... I just realized that if I bought the DDE card in December then it will be good for two NYE trips and that's worth it. Plus, my DH wants to take his parents to Victoria and Alberts so it's paid for right there.

Isn't that the truth! That is a nice perk!

I don't think DD and I would have done so many character meals this year... (13 since January, with 5 more between now and the end of the year) without the savings from the DDE card!

Hi Robinb! Yes, we really do need to get together at some point. I have a feeling our DDs would get along great. I only have one also (she is almost 8) and as much as she loves WDW with mom and dad, she always has more fun when we meet up with a friend at some point. On our Oct/Nov trip, we will be going at the same time as a some friends of ours, and they have a DD our DD's age, so that always works out. I refuse to actually travel with another family, and synchronize all our activities, but we will be meeting up with them at MNSSHP, a dinner here and there, etc. I am also sure the DHs will be golfing one day...and probably meeting at ESPN Club for a beer!

BTW...we just got a new car in July, after having a car that was paid for for many years. The payments are KILLING MEEEEEEE! :sad2: So I feel your pain, sistah!

We are planning an anniversary trip, just DH and I, for the Poly in May, and we will be dining at V&A's. You are right, that DDE makes all the difference in that case! If you go before then, make sure you post a review, I would love to hear your opinion.

How exciting...planning a trip to Tokyo and Hong Kong! Nice to go to some exotic location and STILL get your Disney Fix! That's the best of both worlds!

Good to see you! :teeth:

I love the DDE card too!! Last year, I used my MIL's without a problem, but this year I am getting my own. I was never asked to show my AP. But MIL has her pass already, and she is going to add me as her "spouse". So, this way, we can split the cost. Although the spouse card is not free anymore, $25, but not a big deal!! I just can't wait to eat at disney!! The card totally pays for itself after 1 dinner at California Grill. YUM!!

Last March they would not let me get the card without having an active AP.
Since we were buying our AP's from SOG I had to wait till I got it then I called DDE from my cell phone gave them all the info they needed they I was allowed to pick up my card at Epcot the next day. It may have changed since then but thats what I had to do.

Just to add another example...

We had AP vouchers and I was able to purchase the DDE card over the phone. It was less than 2 weeks before our trip, so I had to pick up the temporary DDE card at Epcot guest relations (outside the park). I believe I had to show my now active AP at that time. This was in July.

Everything went smoothly.

I have since received the permanent DDE card.

Hi!
How do you go about renewing DDE please?
Or do you just purchase another one?

Thanks,
Lynn

There is a renewal process - you can use the same form as a new card - but check off the renewal option and the cost is a bit less.
