Disney Dining Card? What? Where? How?

I have heard about this Disney Dining Card you can get/buy. How do you get it? Is it just for Floridians? I know I've heard some DIS'ers talk about it, but cannot find any info. about it on the site. Thanks!

You can get the Disney Dining Experience Card by either being a Florida resident or an annual pass holder.

It is the greatest thing ever! If you go to one meal at V&A it pays for itself!!!! The only downside I have found is that they won't accept it on holidays- I have heard they can deny it at anytime.

There are two ways to get it:

-You are a Florida Resident, in which case it costs you $85
-You have an Annual Pass (AP), in which case it costs you $65

If you don't have an AP, you'll have to get it first. You'll need to have with you the actual pass or the voucher to order it.

To order it:

By Phone: Call Disney Dining Experience office at (407) 566-5858, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

By Mail: Disney's Dining Experience, Post Office Box 10000, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

I believe you can still order it by phone, and pick up a temporary card at Epcot and use it immediately, while the actual card arrives (that's how we did it our last trip).

I love DDE, BF and I got if for our March trip. I said it would be good if it paid for itself by our June trip, it more then paid for itself in one week. We're AP holders so it was only 65, and I'm going without him in September so I'm thinking of adding the spouse card, and that has already paid for itself. We like the free valet parking. It's a good timesaver if you're running late for your ADR.

It is also good for alcohol. We were on the dining plan and used the DDE for our bottle of wine with the meal.

I just purchased the DDE card for our trip in April. We are staying at the CR. Can I used the Free Valet to park our car for the evening? Do you need to show a receipt from a resteraunt? Thanks in advance!

The DDE starts from the day you sign up for it, so I would call 2-3 days before your trip and then pick up your temp. card at Epcot. To get the most use out of the DDE

By the way, I believe this is good for the CRT and Luau. As I've already made my ADR for both...do you / anybody know if I can apply it when I get there or do I have to update my ADRs? It seems that the CRT was already paid for at the time of making the ADR...so does that mean its too late for that one? Thanks again.

It's good at CRT you have to tell them when booking that you have it, although I've heard people do get a credit when they have DDE after they've already paid. It's only good for the late showing of the Luau.

it's either 12 or 13 months from when you order it, I haven't gotten my permant card yet. I know my temp. card expires 4/17/07 (6 weeks after I ordered)

Just to be safe you could wait until April 25 and then you know that it'll be good until 4/25/08 or 5/25/08.

I can just call on June 8th and get the Dining card for $65 and then pick it up at Epcot on the 9th? Can we activate our APs there too? I was planning on going to DTD to activate our cards, can we pick up the Dining card there or is that only Epcot?

What type of proof do you need with you if you are ordering as a florida resident? my daughter now lives there and goes over to eat a lot there. Does she pick it up at Epcot also or are they delivered quicker to a Florida address?

The person picking it up, will need some sort of Florida ID. Student id works. I'd call and have her pick it up at Epcot. Next day is still quicker then the mail. She'll get her perenant card in the mail, but will get a temperary card at Epcot.

You can only pick up the DDE outside at Epcot, but you can activate your ap there as well.
