I got a call today from WDW Reservations about my stay with free dining Sept 30 - Oct 5. The man asked me if I had a few minutes to talk about dining for my upcoming stay. I was afraid he was going to tell me one of my ADRs would be unavailable but he just said he was calling to make sure I was aware that I should make ADRs because the package had been extremely popular. Being me, I had my ADRs all set about 2 minutes after booking the package so I told him I was all set. He must have had my ADRs in front of him because he said "Yeah, it looks like you're pretty well covered" but asked if there was anything else he could help me with. I thought it was a very nice and above and beyond thing for Disney to do. It's why I keep coming back!

You know, it would really save Disney a whole lot of time, money and effort if they would include one more question in that whole list of things we have to punch numbers on the phone before we talk to a CM (Have you visited before, how many times etc...)

That one question:

Do you DIS? Press 1 for yes, press 2 for no.

This way they can track who they need to call about things like this--cause they obviously don't need to call us DISers and remind us to make ADR's!!!! :rotfl:

I got the same call, but I wasn't home & they left a message. I was so paranoid that they lost my ADR's or something. So I'm glad to hear you got the call too. I guess all my reservation info isn't linked to my ADRs?? And I'm thinking, if I hadn't done all that by now, wouldn't it be too late for mid-Sept!?

Just FYI (according to a CM in Dining with whom I had a lovely conversation earlier this week, and who promised to 'block' my reservation so I can't make any more dining changes :teeth: ) it's Room Reservations making those calls. And honestly, as long as the Guest is flexible and maybe willing to take advantage of that CS+bonus items exchange for a Table Service credit, or have lunch at a place that doesn't open for lunch most of the year, even this late it should be no problem.

I received the same call last week and the CM verified my ADRs while we were on the telephone. I thought it was a good business practice for them to do this so people are not surprised when they arrive with no ADRs.

I wonder if they are getting complaints by the people who HAVE NOT made any ADR'S...ya know the ones who think we are nuts because we plan....plan....plan....
or simply the ones who had no idea what an ADR was!!!

I also got this call, I thought they were going to yell at me for changing around my ADR's so much.

We were at POR 8/19-8/26. I spent a good bit of time down at lobby concierge one day trying to track a package for me that they had given to a different guest with the same name. I saw a few people trying to get ADR's for ANYWHERE. Several groups were unhappy that there was no way to get into Chef Mickey's (except fairly late) and CRT. I heard a manager on the phone with someone who had apparently paid for the dining plan. He was telling the person that he had no way to remove/refund the dining plan, but he was offering to discount the room so that they could use that money to eat elsewhere. I could tell that the person on the other end of the line was getting heated.

We were waiting to be seated at Le Cellier, and there was a pretty steady stream of people coming in to see where they could get ADR's for that day. Morocco and the Biergarten around 4 pm or after 8 pm is what I heard offered.

There was a message on the tv that you could replace a TS meal with a CS + 2 snacks, too.

This is our first trip to Disney, ever.

A friend recommended this board to me once I told her we were going.

I immediately joined and began my research. I learned soon after reading that I needed to make ADR's and wanted to do so. When I asked my dh to do some reading and offer his opinions he laughed, said we did NOT need to plan so far ahead.

A few days later (after I'd already made an ADR for 1900 for our daughter, and one for Chef Mickey's) a guy he works with told him that his wife plans their trips at least a year in advance, and he needed to make sure we had ADR's ahead of time. He always made fun of his wife for doing so but then appreciated it later.

We got the call from Disney last Friday, he talked to them and told them he *thought* we were set but he really has no clue since I'm doing all the planning. He told me a few hours later that they had called to ask if we had all of our ADR's set up for table service meals.

I assured him that we do AND told him he should've listened to me in the first place and to thank the guy at work for me.

It's nice to be proven right once in a while LOL!

WOW! That impresses me. I got a message asking if they could be of any help in making ADRS which I thought was nice. But mine were made a long time ago and changed several times since. Great customer service!

:rotfl: :rotfl2: lol!

Our travel agent was nice enough last year to suggest that we get ADR's for free dining. We didn't Dis at that point so we were lucky that someone filled us in - we would have gotten to Disney with no reservations and I'm sure it would have been bad with my being pregnant, dh and 3 hungry kids trying to find a place to eat each night! lol

Isn't it something how the dh will think we are nuts but when someone else tells them the same thing then they listen!! ugh! LOL :rotfl:

I love it. We could probably help some of the cms with things they don't even know. ;)

I also received this call and was a little suspicious at first so called back and the CM told me that because the plan was extremely (sp) popular they were double checking to make sure people had all their ADR's because there were still people coming in with DDP who had not made ADR's yet.

Blessed Be,

Ryan, Kerry, Sam, and Kiley's Mom
:wizard: :tinker: :tinker: :tinker:

And in January soon to be Grammy of :earsboy:

Just got off the phone with a CM about my upcoming trip. They were checking to see if I needed assistance with booking a few ADR's. I just laughed and assured them I was all set.

Would it be silly to be even slightly upset because I have not gotten this call? :rotfl:

I just want anything, calls, travel documents, anything that shows that YES I am going soon!

I got my call today for a stay beginning 9/17. So if you haven't gotten a call yet that doesn't mena you won't... :thumbsup2
