Disney Dining Buddy No More

My question is- how are some of these sites any different from a Travel Agent? Disney Dining Buddy had software that would scan the system and notify you when to book via text message. It was then your responsibility to go on and book it. How is that any different from a travel agent who watches room sales, dining reservations, and Fast Passes and just books them for you?

I'm paying someone else to watch the site so I don't have to. I know what some are saying about the scanning tool they are using bringing down the system but I don't believe Disney has said anything against that tool so what is to stop a Travel Agent from doing the same thing?

Disney has a reservation system they designed and they want that system used only as intended. MyMagic+ is a system that, at it's core, is about data gathering and Business Intelligence. These systems are designed to be used as intended. When they are used in a way that isn't intended they don't produce the best possible data.

TA's are using the system in a way Disney wants and planned for. If Disney wanted third party companies to have the kind of access Dining Buddy had they would have built an API and make it accessible to them. Perhaps at some future date they actually will do that but until then they saw someone using their system in a way they didn't want and put a stop to it. At least that is my conclusion based on the fact they are issues C&Ds. Had they let it go one it would have been an indication that they didn't care about the way these companies have bypassed their intended system design.

Picture ID should be shown matching your reservation and when a reservation is cancelled in the system it shouldn't become available right away. That would stop some of it.

Disney is never going to require people to carry a photo ID to the parks.

I believe that everyone needs one in our party for our upcoming Keys to the Kingdom Tour.
It's possible they do for that tour. We took the Holiday D-Lights tour last December and an ID was not required to take that tour.

No matter what, at this time they do not require you do carry any ID to enter the parks. They tout their MB as being an all in one and I don't believe they'll ever change from that. Now, as I said above, I'm not talking about what is wise or smart, just what is required.
