Disney Dining Buddy No More

When is Disney Dining Scout going to put up their cancellation link button for people once their 6 or 12 months is over since they automatically renew your service and charge you again for another 6 or 12 months? They said you'll be charged again unless you cancel by using the cancellation link. But there is no cancellation link and they said they forgot to put one up....

I just got my coveted CRT this week thanks to dining scout!
I don't think the ones you pay to look for ressies is the problem - but if they all go I guess everyone will be back to being on same page

Scout just came through for me for our CRT. Glad this one is still working.

Yes.
These services are absurd.
Book your trip ideally ahead and use the online system like the rest of us. Even during these bot-ran services, we still secured all the hardest ADR's to get, at 180 days and even 100 days.

Not everyone has the luxury of planning their trip that far out. If I want to pay someone $8 to look for a reservation for me, it's no one else's business. Disney Dining Buddy did not make reservations for you. They alerted you to the open reservation. You were then directed to the Disney Dining website. I don't see anything wrong with this service. They did not book reservations ahead of time, and then sell them, like some other services may have done.

It's absurd to not understand that not everyone has the luxury of being able to book at 180+10

If they're truly just ALERTING you to take action, then sure, I support them 100%
However, that's what DDB is saying on the surface, while many are accusing them of hoarding and releasing to their customers as notifications, in which that would bring us back to being an issue. There are countless claims that they were releasing during/shortly prior to their alerts and had been hoarding themselves.

People can't all book out far, but that's simply too bad. We went on a short notice trip when our battalion was pulled from deployment. However, we found everything weeks prior and days before the trip. I wouldn't knock anyone for using a tool that alerts them, but fueling a service that is hoarding, is absurd.

It sounds like the issues for these "generally reasonable" services may be that the repeated pinging of the system may be putting a load on the server that it's not designed to handle, and that's what Disney is responding to.
Ironically, while the scalpers may be the ones with the reprehensible system, they may be doing it in a way that doesn't overload the server, and that may be why Disney isn't dealing with them first.

So, I wonder what will happen to those who purchased an already made ADR.....if Disney starts asking to see ID for the name on the reservation some people will be in a bit of trouble. And THEN....they'll charge the credit card of the scalper for a "no show". Divine justice, lol.

There is little likelihood of that as there is no requirement to carry your ID to the parks

Disney Dining Buddy didn't make a res in a fake name, just sent an alert.
