Um, I couldn't help but snatch this right up. It's AWESOME!!!!! My favorite is the ribbons too, no more searching every kit for some ribbons!:cool1:

The abused papers are awesome... I have separate grungy overlays, but I don't have any ready made paper like that! Too cool!

Those papers are awesome. They look SO real! :) I love that ribbon jar (what a cute name!), too.

Oh, and I had to download the Snow White pages from the last page.

I can't get that one to work for me (running PSE6 on a Mac) but I downloaded a couple of the other ones atomic cupcake has for free and they work just fine... :sad1: The free action for gel letters works perfectly and is pretty cool. Was considering purchasing the glitter action...but...if one atomic cupcake says works for PSE6 but doesn't...a little on the fence.

How do ya'll balance the time vs the freebies out there? I seem to spend way to much time getting freebies and it's cutting into my time I should be spending making pages.

Do I just need to get very picky??

Yep, very picky. Sometimes I get on a tear and then days later I'll be, "Why did I download that?!":lmao: I always pick up Britt's and few other high quality freebies and leave the rest alone. If they don't absolutely knock my socks off, I skip 'em.

I think that's kind of a part of the learning curve. I have only been digi scrapping for a little over a year, but I SWEAR I spent the first 6 months downloading and organizing and re-organizing my stash. I think part of it is the "thrill" of all of the freebies out there.... Totally different from paper scrapping, and VERY fun. Eventually, I just got going on my pages, and then I kind of discovered my style and preferences, and now I am much pickier. I have even deleted a bunch of stuff that I DLed early on, and I am going to go archive (on DVDs) some other kits I will probably never use. I still love a good feebie, but I pretty much only watch a handful of blogs and forums now because I know which designers I like.... Of course don't get me started on BUYING kits... I have to tie my hands behind my back every Saturday when Sweet Shoppe Designs releases their stuff, and I can NEVER resist Britt's and Erica Zane's cute stuff over at ScrapMatters..... But I still think I spend way less money digiscrapping than I did when I was traditional scrapping. Plus, I am kind of a "shopper" by nature... so when I get the urge to shop, I'll pop into a digi site and buy a $5 kit rather than jump in my car and drive down to the mall and spend way more on an outfit. :) That's how I justify it to DH anyway! LOL! :lmao:

This is how I am now, too. I'm getting MUCH pickier with the freebies (as much as I love SM, I can't even handle the daily downloads anymore, they stress me out!) and I tend to buy what I will actually use. At least Britt only releases a few kits a month, I could go broke buying stuff from Sweet Shoppe! I'm totally a shopper, too, and I just love the instant gratification aspect of digi-scapping! Need something? Search for it and buy it instantly!! Totally cool.

Freebies are so much fun! But I think what Christy said above is definitely the key - eventually, you will see a freebie and know that you would never use it because it is not your style. You will develop an affinity for certain designers and focus on their stuff.

Hey!

It looks like she has started posting the new kit! It's so pretty!

:)

I know this kit just got posted, but incase y'all missed it, she's reactivated the links to it and someone made a super cute charm to go with it which you can also download... (it's all free) Oh, it's the cinderella kit by the way. :) you'll have to scroll down a bit but it's really really cute. :) maggie

I spent a year downloading and buyins/searching for kits that i knew i could use. Even before i had a program to use ;) Then i decided on photoshop and was copying so of the great layouts here. For some reason, scrapping Disney is so much easier then everything else. I guess because i have so much Disney stuff related to the characters shows, parks etc that it makes it easy but i take way more time when i am doing my regular stuff. :confused3
