Disney Destination Jan. Newsletter?

Is the Disney Destination newsletter the same as the Disney Insider ?

Could someone tell me exactly where I should go (on line) to sign up for this newsletter.
I cannot find it anywhere on Disneyworld.com.

Thanks so much.

I just logged in at disney.com and it's still not an option for me there either. I have every option checked and the only thing I consistently get is the Disney Insider. Disney must have something against me. :sad1:

Thanks for trying to help!

I've had the same the same thing. I'm checked off for everything but can't specifically find Disney Destinations. I even had my brother forward me his Feb. letter (he's gotten Jan. and Feb.) and tried to link off of it but still can't find it. I get the Insider as well but can't seem to get Destinations :confused3

Disney Destination is different than the Disney Insider. I wish I could tell you where to go to sign up for Disney Destination, but I can't find it myself. I get the Insider, wish I could get Destination too. :sad1:

I tried also, in vain, to find a way to subscribe to Destinations newsletter... it's not in the account prefs for disney.com, and there's no link to it under Backstage Pass.... what gives? Can anyone find it or might know a phone # to call to subscribe?

I might know the answer as to why many of us are unable to get the Disney Destinations newsletter.

I was also very interested in being able to get this regular e-mail, so I called Disney today and asked about how I might be able to receive the e-mail. I told them that I have received e-mails from Disney Destinations before, but only when getting a personal PIN Code (I didn't get the 40%, but got a 20% after ordering the DVD). That e-mail comes from disney@email.visit.disneyparks.com - the other came to confirm a room only ressie, and was disney@vacation.disneyworld.com, but that was from "Disney Destinations, LLC"

The CM put me on hold to ask about getting the newsletter, and when she came back on the phone she asked if I was an AP holder - and I am not. She then informed me that the Disney Destinations newsletter is for AP holders only.

So, this is likely the reason UNLESS someone out there who isn't (or, perhaps more importantly, has never been) an AP holder is getting the newsletter. If that is the case, please let us know, and perhaps let us know how you signed up for the Disney Destinations newsletter without being an AP holder.

BTW, she didn't mention anything about DVC members getting the newsletter, so I don't know if that might be another way to be eligible for the mailing.

Hope this helps!

Verry interesting. Thanks for calling, esdras.

I've never had an AP. Was planning to only purchase an AP if AP rates were released for my travel dates that were better than AAA (or, possibly, free dining).... sounds like Disney's getting sneaky on us deal hunters!

No problem - I had to call anyway to put a deposit down on the vacation we're hoping to take in late August - although it will be cancelled in early July unless we get a promotion better than the 20% off room-rate that we're using now.

This DOES make some sense as those mentioning the newsletter stated that they often contained discount codes - I'm assuming now that those are AP codes which are well publicized, but - of course - only usable by AP holders.

And you're right, Disney isn't making it any easier for us average non-AP, no-DVC membership schmucks to get huge deals.

My personal opinion is that Disney should reward two types of customers - the frequent visitor and those who do the type of legwork that we do to hunt down the very best deals. Okay, my opinion is partially due to the fact that I fall in the latter group, and would probably be included in the first group if we lived closer to Florida.

I am not a AP passholder & never been. I started getting the Disney Destinations newsletter last January and all the links on the newsletter take me to Backstage Pass. I emailed DisneyWorld.Com about my Jan. Feb & newsletter, and the Rep told me not to worry, that I'm still on the mailing list and the same information was on the Backstage pass so I wasn't missing anything. I asked them why I wasn't getting the email all of a sudden and they had no reply. And...to top it off, I have ordered the Disney Cruise DVD, DVC DVD & the DisneyWorld Vacation DVD and still have not gotten one code. I also stopped getting the Disneyshopping emails as well. I asked why and again no reply. I usually got a Disneyshopping email almost every day and I haven't gotten one since Jan. 10confused:

Well, that just shoots my theory all to where-you-wound-up-after-hitting-the-train-on-Mr.-Toad's-Wild-Ride.

Sure, the same info MIGHT be on Backstage Pass - but it seems as though people have received discount offers via the Disney Destinations newsletter.

Disney, you are wonderful overall, but in terms of consistency (for what us addicts can get/sign-up for/etc.), yer driving me nuts!

SO DID I!

But why, I don't know. :confused3

I had totally forgotten about this thread.

Considering I was told on the phone that I shouldn't get one, I cannot figure out what the answer is to this.

But it was from Disney Destinations and said "your March Disney HELLO is here".

There wasn't anything "special" in it in terms of a major discount.

Nope- still no Disney Destination email & we have a trip booked. I may ask them again & see If I get a better reply. It's so weird that they just stopped. I did get Disney Insider email but it's just not the same:confused3
