J&N - I ironed on a hard flat desk. I ruined 3 shirts trying different ironing times and different ways of pulling the paper off. I think I'm just going to give in and order some of the avery paper. At least I know it works, I want my shirts to look as good as your designs look on the computer!

Do you think that I can put an "iron-on" on top of an "iron-on" of the same design and maybe salvage the shirts that I have ruined. If anyone has tried this already and failed miserably, please let me know so that I don't waste any more transfers.

I'll go check out the other thread, I had forgotten about it since I got my shirts in!

Thanks BTW - I love your 4 parks one!

And how about a version for Pirate's night on the MAGIC??? (OK, I haven't looked at every single page, so forgive me if there already is one.)

I just wanted to say, I'm not ignoring anyone's PMs. Just so you know. I have 30+ requests for designs. I've been ultra busy with work and my daughter starting school again, but I think it's going to be slowing up a little. So, hopefully, I can make a dent in them soon. :)

I'm sure that somewhere in the 184 pages that someone has asked this but...

I got my shirts in the mail today and my transfer paper yesturday. I bought hot peel paper for light shirts on Ebay.

Now, I'm in a panick state because it seems that either I'm just not skilled enough to iron these on or that you have to have a press to put them on.

HELP HELP HELP HELP

Is all of this paper a waste (not to mention the ink I used to print them!!)?

When I iron them the transfer goes on dark in some places and sketchy in others (most). It just looks bad! Please help!

Is there a way that I can use this paper and make it work? If not, which paper should I buy?

I'm so heartbroken because I have all of these wonderful designs that you all have been doing. And I have single-handedly made them all look terrible.

Whaaaaaa :guilty: Whaaaaaaa :badpc: Whaaaaaaaaa

About 3 years ago I found that when I used an off brand paper that I found on sale somewhere, it didn't work for me? Now I only use Avery paper. It's expensive, but it seems to work consistently.
If you are using a hot iron (no steam) on a hard, hard surface, and doing it for 2 - 3 minutes, you are doing everything right (and assuming that's what the directions say). Therefore I conclude it is not you but the paper. My next step would be to pick up a very big hammer and throttle the paper. It won't help the tshirts, but I bet it will make you feel better? good luck, Penny

I hate to keep taking up space on this thread repeating myself but.....there are sooooooo many talented people on this thread!!!

Thank you to all of them for sharing their designs.

We are going to WDW Dec 3-9. If anyone sees me in their shirt design.....just think of it as a compliment and I really didn't mean to wear YOUR shirt while you are on vacation also!!

The MVMCP old Santa.....I love that one but, promise I won't do that one and show up to MVMCP in matching shirts. But, I might stop you and say hello!!!

Feel free to wear the old Santa :) I'm not sure which design we will wear plus I would love to see others in it :flower:

I would agree that the PAPER is the culprit. I bought a dozen sheets of AVERY transfer paper last weekend for about $14--WELL WORTH IT !!!

I would just ditch the paper you have and buy new stuff.

GOOD LUCK :wizard:

OK, So I bought some Avery paper and will wait for it to come it. If anyone out there has a heat press machine and would like some free paper (probably about 25 sheets or so). I will be happy to ship it to you for the cost of shipping ($3)! I hate this paper but, if it will work for you, you are more than welcome to it. First person to PM me gets it.

To repeat an earlier question that I had, Do you think I can iron on an Avery transfer over one of these that I messed up? Or am I just asking for trouble?

Thanks for all the help, Maybe this is a way that I can Pay It Forward!

I'm not sure about my transfers....but I think the shirt still turned out okay. But there seemed to be some ink left on the transfer....anyone have any experience with that? Did I not iron it long enough? Here it is on my "cheesy" DD.

I wouldn't try it. I think you'll just waste more ink and new transfer sheets.

We had that same dress too!! It is one that will never go out in style :)

OK all DDA members. How many of you have dreamt of owning a heat press?

WDWorBUST-she's so cute and that shirt looks awesome!

That is too funny. When I read her post I started thinking "humm I wonder how much one of those heat press machines cost". Than I had to slap myself upside the head. What in the heck would I do with something like that.

Me, too!!! :rotfl:

OK, now the bad paper has found a home and the good paper is on it's way. In the process I ruined 4 of my shirts! I kept thinking that I was doing something wrong and that I would get it right the next time.

Important lesson learned, as much as you hate to do it, you should test your skills on scrap fabric...

That being said, where would you recommend getting more shirts? Cheap but good quality.

I bought my last set from blankshirts.com and got the Gildan 100% cotton 6.1oz. I really like these and would like to stick to the same brand/style of shirts.

Where is the cheapest place (including shipping) that I can get these shirts?

Does anyone know of retail stores that carry this brand??
