Triplefigs-Thanks for the PhotoImpact tip! I was getting the same results, but taking way more steps to get there.

Chaoscent-I luv your Star Wars Mickeys! My DH and I are real Sci-Fi Geeks. :teleport:

J&M's Mom-Beautiful job for the girls night out. Your design's just get better and better! And thanks again for the tag!

MidNite-Sorry to hear about the job. Here's to something better coming your way! :shamrock:

I would love to take credit for even one of the Mickey's but I didn't do any of them. I am using them though, because they are wonderful.

Glad to help. I'm not sure if my directions are the easiest way, but it's the only one I could figure out. I too was INEPT and it took me forever how to figure out how to erase the background and make a transparent clipart. I've been up to 2am every night working on this stuff. My DH thinks I'm a lunatic...

Love your Walt ones and this Mickey one also. How do you get your letters to look embossed? Is that a feature of photo impact? they are very, very cool. I think the coolest one for a boy is the one that has the red X. but they are all very nice. & you are very nice to do them. P

in photoimpact - you can make the letters 3D - this gives them the look you are talking about and then I usually do a gradient instead of one color

How about we make a tradition of putting a "lime green Mickey' on the sleeve of the shirts that are made here on the Dis.. Like the one in Mrs Squirrels Signature..."someone" with talent(read: NOT ME! ;) could make it...

Just a thought.....
J&M's Mom is correct. The Mickey on my sig is from Beiji. I downloaded one of Beiji's blank Mickey's (there have been several beautiful choices posted), then added the personalization in PhotoImpact. I am planning on having lime green Mickey's on my sleeve, luggage, hotel room window, stroller. . .anywhere I can think of. Others are doing it as well. . .so I guess great DIS minds all think alike! ::yes::

How do you make the letters outlined with one color as the outline and a different color the filler? I figured out the gradient color, but not that~

The only problem is that the design has started to crack a bit as the t-shirt stretched.
My Avery transfers stated that this might happen and to keep the enclosed tissue paper for doing touch-ups on your transfer. Just re-iron as you did when you first transfered the design. The directions said that this will correct minor cracks or edges that might begin to seperate.

How do you reverse the image for printing so that it will print ok? I saved pic but can't reverse it for printing?
Depending on your graphics program, you can either flip the image before you print or look for the option as you set up to print to do a mirror image. Can you give more info on what you are using?

The other option is the Avery Transfer Paper does not require that you print a design backwards. Which I like!

Is this kinda what you were looking for?

also, no apology needed regarding the Star Wars Mickeys. :)

I'm sure that somewhere in the 184 pages that someone has asked this but...

I got my shirts in the mail today and my transfer paper yesturday. I bought hot peel paper for light shirts on Ebay.

Now, I'm in a panick state because it seems that either I'm just not skilled enough to iron these on or that you have to have a press to put them on.

HELP HELP HELP HELP

Is all of this paper a waste (not to mention the ink I used to print them!!)?

When I iron them the transfer goes on dark in some places and sketchy in others (most). It just looks bad! Please help!

Is there a way that I can use this paper and make it work? If not, which paper should I buy?

I'm so heartbroken because I have all of these wonderful designs that you all have been doing. And I have single-handedly made them all look terrible.

Whaaaaaa :guilty: Whaaaaaaa :badpc: Whaaaaaaaaa

Hey - your t-shirt thread is getting some good Ideas!!!

anyway - did you iron on a hard surface - like your kitchen counter - this is where I usually have the best luck - if you did that

did you iron long enough and did you peel it before it cools? I would try to peel one after it had cooled just to see what happens -

maybe someone else has experience with that paper
