Well friends, I almost killed Steffy. I have known her for about 15 years. I have always known that she is highly allergic to a lot of things. Some dogs, cats, smoke, cleaning fluids, flowers, lots of stuff. I have always had a nose that could smell out a kid in poopy diapers a mile away, so you would think I would remember those things no matter what she tells me.
Since DH and I sorta adopted our kids cats when they lived in places where cats were not allowed, she stopped coming to our house. We have had the cats for 11 years now. No problem, I just went to hers and always told her "I am not coming to clean, just to see you".

One year for my birthday she told me that she had taken her medicine and was going to come over to my house to see all of the rooms that we had redone since before the cats came. Pictures just really do not do the trick, you have to see it to believe it. So, she comes in and starts looking around. Finally, after 5 minutes, she leaves. She was sick for a week. (she admitted she had had a cold, but this almost lead to pneumonia. :earseek:

Almost 4 years ago I started having problems with smells. At first I thought I was going crazy. Then I started getting migraines. It seems that for some people, they get migraines from some odors. So, Steffy and I would suffer together when shopping or going out to eat. Sneezing, coughing and just carrying on a lot. (thank goodness for protection) :rotfl: Going thru the smoking section at a restaurant we would hold our breath and practically run. She would wait outside a candle shop because it just really gets to her and if I smelled something, I would just tell her not to go there.

Now since we work together, it is really hard sometimes. When the preschool has to clean several times a day, they have to use some godawful stuff that really smells. If I am aware of it, I can use some protection that I have, a tube of liquid that I can spread under my nose and smell that instead of whatever is in the air. I just have a harder time if someone would come by with some really strong smelling perfume. Patchouli is the absolute worst. I have to go home, take medicine and sleep it off. If we have flowers at the front desk, she cannot be anywhere around.

So, I ordered the Mickey & Me figurine that holds a vase of flowers and sent it to Steffy. I figured she would tell me if the flowers were too strong. She calls to tell me it is beautiful (the vase was missing) and I made sure to ask about the flowers. At that time she is ok. We go to lunch and then she drops me off back at work. Two hours later when I am getting ready to leave, there is a message on my phone that I have to come get the flowers. I called and asked can't you put them in your DD's room? Forgot she is worse with the pollen :earseek: I get there and took the flowers and now she is ok.

Boy, am I such a dork.

Aww! Well, it was lovely of you to get her the flowers, even just for a bit! :goodvibes

The imagineer book? This question wasn't directed at me, but I'll answer, too :rotfl:

It's AWESOME! All kinds of details you don't even find on the DISboards! :earseek:

It's the thought. Did the vase ever arrive? If so, then fill it with silk flowers (there are some really nice ones out there) and re-re-gift it.

Everybody makes mistakes, hopefully she doesn't get sick from it. Hopefully they were removed in a quick enough time frame. I wonder what they would have done had you asked for fake flowers or none at all??

You're not a dork, you are just a really good friend that wanted to wish their friend a Merry Christmas. So you forgot your brain temporarily so if that makes you a dork - count me in!!!

I called hallmark and they reordered it for me. At first it was going to be a 7-10 day turnaround :earseek: She was able to get it down to 5-7. He really looks cute with his arms out. Sorta like holding out his arms to hug someone. Yes she will put silk flowers in it when it comes.

I think it was a lovely use of font, size and color. You ARE a designer!

thank you - however - I don't equal what others have, so I still bow to them!!!

I liked it. It would have been nice if it would have been more detailed and more information. I already knew some of the stuff but some I didn't Considering it was less than $10 I don't think it was a bad deal.

I wish they would come out with the other park books soon, but I haven't heard anything about them. Considering this one was originally scheduled for release in June and didn't come out until September I think it is going to be awhile before we see another park book released let alone for all of the parks.

Kritter, I PMed you the recipe :)

Marti, congratulations on 1000! :Pinkbounc

Tinker1bell, you had the best intentions! :goodvibes

Miss Missy, you can have Kiefer, but Rick Schroder is MINE!

I could read about Disney all the time. I have a question for all of you... have any of you ever used Tour Guide Mike?? Is he the guy that designs tour plans for you to follow based on a time of year? If you used him, would you please give me an opinion of it and what it cost you? Thanks!

Last night I turned on HBO and I can now proudly proclaim that I am the last person in America to watch Titanic.

It was okay, but I really didn't get all the hype. Maybe one of those movies that plays better at the theatre than on the small screen. IMHO, Evita was very much that way. Great at the movies, not so good at home.

I think that I saw some in a store here in Salem just before Christmas. If you haven't found anythin on line yet, I can look this weekend and send them with your pin that I still haven't mailed.

That's good! I was beginning to think it was eaten by USPS!

I like the ones Skunka found for me ... but honestly would flip for copper ones ... or heavy duty ones (like Wilton makes with the rubber tops!).

I just hope that everyone will understand that if Steffy and I stop hugging anyone at the get togethers in July and August, it will be because something they are wearing is just hitting us the wrong way :guilty:

Nope, second to last :wave2:

I refused to see it during all the hype, and just haven't gotten around to it yet. I've seen the original, I've seen (I'm pretty sure) equal or better computer graphics since then, and I'm not a huge fan of Leonardo DiCaprio. I'm in no hurry :confused3

Congratulations Marti :cheer2:
