OMG!!!

Julia fell asleep at 8:00 a little early but she was up late last night - she just woke up - apparantly that was just a nap - I am in for a long night!!!

Ok 184 posts today.
How do you all think I'm going to keep up.
Tomorrow is going to be H.
Not going to be on-line.
I get to install the new dishwasher.
Oh well that's what I get for being a maintenance tech.
Have to fix everything a home.

Triplefigs, welcome home. I am glad you had a good trip.

Kate, I'm sorry that Julia has decided to take a nap which started at 8pm.

He promises to be home for the celebration, and I figure if enough pixie dust is thrown our way, it will happen. Why, oh why, do the airlines have to choose THAT day to strike? I'm just hoping that it's only rumor and it won't happen.

i was hoping that maybe its a rumor...what a pain to have to worry about!

kate--hope she goes back to bed!!!

I loved reading your reports and looking at your pictures. Seeing your kids faces brought tears to my eyes. I miss having little ones and seeing the magic through them. I'm glad that you had a good time, and for the most part everything went well.

Tammi,
Kate might not be able to fix your furnace but maybe Brendita might have an idea.

Those are fantastic!

That means A LOT coming from you!

Thanks to everyone else who complimented my cards. My favorite cards that I made were back when my kids hands were small enough to fit on a card. I used handprints to create trees, reindeer, and Santas (one design per card).

I think I'm becoming addicted to designing (after all of this time). I'm now working on calendars for my parents and in-laws. After the holidays, I'll try my hand at some Disney designs!

I've got the bus...

ddabus.jpg

does anyone know how to drive one of these things?

DH and I actually owned a 25 passenger bus. We towed our 30 ft TT with it. Drove it from VT to WDW twice. I'm sure that bus would be a piece of cake.

I'll post an update on my dad when I get caught up. I've got to read faster.

It's not really that I miss oreos; I miss the idea of going to the bag and eating as many as I want. If you're day is coming soon, please let me know so that I can support you as much as you have supported me. Have you given any more thought to coming here and having it done? You'd be close to your kids, and I could meet you, and help you and get you through the classes, etc.

As for coming to your house...I might just take you up on that. Where in Oregon do you live? I have family in Beaverton.

I just found out that DH has to go on a business trip to Vermont on the 23 and 24 of this month. I told him he better be back by Christmas Eve (evening) or I'd be really upset. I just can't stand the thought of him missing our big family plans. Please send PD that the powers that be (Delta airlines) won't strike as they are threatening on Christmas Eve so he can come home.

Where in Vermont is he coming? Are you traveling with him. We could have a little DDA meet here.

Meeting you would just be the best thing! I was telling my mom this morning how close I am to the people on this board, and she thought it was wonderful. I was afraid she'd think I was wierd or something, but she thinks it's neat to have a place where everyone is bound by a common interest.

Let me know if you decide to come here for the classes. I'd be happy to go with you if you want. You can take one support person. Mine was DH, but if your hubby can't come, I'd be happy to be with you. I was just SO impressed with the doctor's. Their track record is one of the best in the nation!

Yes, DH is cutting it close. He works for a local news station here in Utah, and there's a big celebration in Sharon, Vermont on the 23rd of December. DH is going to cover it. It should be really neat for him, but I want him home to help with the Santa duties.

Sharon, VT is 20 minutes from me. It is actually 5 minutes from our camp. Too bad that your not coming. We could have met. What is the big celebration. I can't think of any big celebration ever happening in Sharon.

Just stop in NH on the way!!!!!

PS - spoke with you cousin (?) -- should be picking it up tomorrow.

My neighbor actually homeschools her kids. She has a boy who was born in April and just turned 7 he is in second grade, she has twin girls who just turned 6 in October. Plus she works part time outside of the home, she also helps her husband run his catering business, which at this time of the year is a full time job and a half, if not more.

OMG -she did not just come in here and say that to me

Julia has kids - they go everywhere with her -she has 7 named after her 5 cousins - her and Nick - I will give her this - she never forgets them - always is taking care of them and is very sweet with them

when she was younger and would run away - she would tell me it was b/c she had to go get one of her kids - she has learned now that when one of them gets in trouble she gets in trouble for not making them behave

anyway she just came in and said to me

My kids will not go to sleep - I keep telling them to lay down and that I do not want to see them out of their room again and they just won't go to sleep and she is very mad at them

UGH!!!

Tell her the exact same thing she just said to you. About them not sleeping and getting mad at them and see if she gets it.

My sister sent this to me and after Steffy and I got lost on our way to Atlanta, and also lost while driving downtown with my sister, We saw all four sides of the CNN building!!! this is by far the best description of:

ATLANTA GEORGIA
This is for anyone who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, has ever lived in Atlanta, has ever visited Atlanta, ever plans to visit Atlanta, knows anyone who already lives in Atlanta, or knows anyone who has ever heard of Atlanta.
Atlanta is composed mostly of one-way streets. The only way to get out of downtown Atlanta is to turn around and start over when you reach Greenville, South Carolina. :rotfl:

All directions start with, "Go down Peachtree" and include the phrase, "When you see the Waffle House." Except that in Cobb County, where all directions begin with, "Go to the Big Chicken."

Peachtree Street has no beginning and no end and is not to be confused
with:
Peachtree Circle, Peachtree Place, Peachtree Lane, Peachtree Road, Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree Run, Peachtree Terrace, Peachtree Avenue,
Peachtree Commons, Peachtree Battle, Peachtree Corners, New Peachtree,
Old Peachtree, West Peachtree, Peachtree-Dunwoody, Peachtree-Chamblee, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Peachtree Memorial Drive :earseek:

Atlantans only know their way to work and their way home. If you ask anyone for directions, they will always send you down Peachtree.

Atlanta is the home of Coca-Cola. Coke's all they drink there, so don't ask for any other soft drink unless it's made by Coca-Cola. :rotfl2:

The gates at Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport are about 32 miles away from the Main Concourse, so wear sneakers and pack a lunch.

The 8 a.m. rush hour is from 6:30 to 10:30 AM. The 5 p.m. rush hour is from
3:00 to 7:30 PM. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday afternoon and lasts
through 2 a.m. Saturday.

Only a native can pronounce Ponce De Leon Avenue, so do not attempt the
Spanish pronunciation. People will simply tilt their heads to the right and stare at you.
The Atlanta pronunciation is "pawntz duh LEE-awn."
And yes, they have a street named simply, "Boulevard."

The falling of one raindrop causes all drivers to immediately forget all traffic rules. If a single snowflake falls, the city is paralyzed for three days and it's on all the channels as a news flash every 15 minutes for a week. Overnight, all grocery stores will be sold out of milk, bread, bottled water, toilet paper, and beer. :rolleyes1
I-285, the loop that encircles Atlanta, which has a posted speed limit of 55 mph (but you have to maintain 80 mph just to keep from getting run over), is known to truckers as "The Watermelon 500."
Don't believe the directional markers on highways. I-285 is marked "East" and "West" but you may be going North or South. The locals identify the direction by referring to the "Inner Loop" and the "Outer Loop." If you travel on Hwy 92 North, you will actually be going southeast.
Never buy a ladder or mattress in Atlanta. Just go to one of the interstates and you will soon find one in the middle of the road.
The last thing you want to do is give another driver the finger, unless your car is armored, your trigger finger is itchy and your AK-47 has a full clip.
Possums sleep in the middle of the road with their feet in the air.
There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 live in Georgia.
There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 live in Georgia, plus a couple no one has seen before. :confused3
If it grows, it sticks. If it crawls, it bites. If you notice a vine trying to wrap itself around your leg, you have about 20 seconds to escape, before you are completely captured and covered with Kudzu, another ill-advised "import," like the carp, starling, English sparrow, and other "exotic wonders."
It's not a shopping cart, it's a buggy. "Fixinto" is one word (I'm fixinto go to the store).
Sweet Tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're 2 years old.

"Jeet?" is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"

If you understand these jokes, forward them to your friends from
Atlanta, Georgia and those who just wish they were. Lordy, I love Jawja.
Terry,
Now your scaring me. :scared1:
You know I plan on settling in the Atlanta area.
