I was thinking Koda was quite good - as it's not well recognized as a Disney name... I know we all love Disney but you don't want to go putting pinocchio as his middle name and habing him teased in the playground

Well, with this spurt of postings in response to you Chatty Cathys I have gone over the 700 mark!

I was on the DIS for years and never had more than 200 and now y'all have me writing a novel. Thanks!

It's not a shopping cart, it's a buggy. "Fixinto" is one word (I'm fixinto go to the store).
Sweet Tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're 2 years old.

"Jeet?" is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"

These are so true for the south anywhere I think. I am in Sweet Home Alabama and we sure have to have our sweet tea and I am fixinto go make me some.

This is true in parts of FL as well! Actually, I'm fixinto to get DS up and head over to feed my parents kitties!

Yea!! Congrats on going over 700!!! I'm in the same boat - I've been posting for a year now...only up to 322. This group is great, though, you just can't help chatting with everyone!!! I really do need to go - I'll check with you all later!

Boy, you were chatty after I left last night.

Deb- I am glad your father is doing better.

As for snow in central Florida that is highly unlikely. If you were further North in Florida it would be more likely.

Although it does get cold enough in central Florida to get frost or ice on your car windshield. The one morning it had done this when I lived there and my roommate decided that instead of leaving her car run enough to melt the ice or using something to scrape it off that she would proceed to open her window and hang her head out of it so that she could see instead of looking at the windshield. Not sure if she did this more than once. I just happened to be with her that day. I told her to stop the car, I jumped out and scraped the ice with a credit card.

I'm just waiting for the day in Florida when they see this headline, two drivers bump heads since they couldn't see out of there windshields due to the ice.

My older 2 are 25 months apart. I never had any sibling rivalry between them and they are so close that you'd think they are twins. There is 5 years between the younger 2 and they aren't nearly as close. They don't have a lot in common with that age gap.

I said before that Matthew and Laura are 28 months apart. I neglected to mention poor Miles (because it wasn't really relevant at the time). He is almost 6 years younger than Laura. All three of mine are very close, but he definitely doesn't always fit in with what they are doing. I wanted another one about 2 years after him, but dh felt our family was complete.

I think it all depends on personalities. My mom is one of six, and is much closer to the sister who is 9 years younger than the ones closer to her age.

Ok, so last night I posted I had 500 posts, well tonight I woke up and lo and behold I only have 496. How the heck did that happen. Honestly it said 500 and this morning it said 496. How can you lose posts??? I didn't think it was possible. Apparently I will have to hit the 500 post mark a second time, later today after I get home from work. Have fun today and be good.

For Christmas last year, Ben got this fun advent calendar with activities under each window. The idea behind it was great. The only problem was some things just happened on nights that were to crazy already. KWIM? I was thinking of using the activities again -- but knowing what nights they fell on, I could be ready.


I typed up the list and thought I would share it:

1. Make paper snowflakes to hang in windows
2. Watch a Christmas video.
3. Choose one toy to give to charity.
4. Send a card to a friend.
5. Make a holiday treat for the birds.
6. Predict the temperature or amount of snowfall for Christmas.
7. Decorate your room for Christmas.
8. Learn a new Christmas song.
9. Make a holiday treat to eat.
10. Learn how Christmas in celebrated in other countries.
11. Make an elf hat.
12. Learn the names of all Santa's reindeer.
13. Do someone a favor secretly.
14. Make a decoration for your Christmas tree
15. Read a Christmas story together with your family.
16. Help wrap packages.
17. Draw a Christmas picture.
18. Ask your parents about their favorite Christmas memories.
19. Make a marshmallow snowman.
20. Sit in the dark and enjoy the Christmas tree lights
21. Make a phone call to someone you won't be seeing over the holidays.
22. Play holiday charades.
23. Visit someone who can't go out for the holidays
24. Go caroling to your next door neighbors and wish them a very merry Christmas.

The doctors finally read his xray and cleared his neck. Nothing broken. I can't believe that it took them 27 hours to clear his neck. The CT scan showed that the brain bleed has not gotten worse which is great news. He says that his neck already feels better just getting the brace off. They are giving him a medicine to help with the vertigo. Apparently that is an inner ear issue and has nothing to do with the brain injury. They are keeping him overnight tonight, but if nothing worsens I will bring him home in the morning. Between my Mom, Brother, SIL, DH and I we will be able to have someone with him as long as needed (until the vertigo passes). I thank you all for your prayers. He really is a lucky man to have tangled with a train and really had minimal injury. The worst part was not knowing. I have a photo that was on the front page of the local newspaper. I will post shortly. The caption said something about the driver walking away without injury. We read it this morning and said that someone should tell Dad and his doctors as we didn't know the extent of his injuries at the time.

And now..... I have one last thing to say as I talk incessantly to myself....

I have finally finished decrating the living room, kitchen and family room- however teh stairs and office (my Mickey room) are still not done. My Christmas shopping, however is! YEAH!

I have a friend who's son works for NIKE here and she took me over to the employees store. Oh my heck! You would not believe thath place! It's HUGE and has a ton of stuff to choose from. I guess they put all the new merchandise in there before it goes out to the stores. The prices were unbelievable- at least 50% off- and I got some good deals for the boys. As I was checking out, my friend shows me a "special" check out line and tells me that that line is for players and their families from the pros. She said often w hen teams sre in town, they'll make a trip to the employee store and pick up tons of stuff, go through that line and get comped for everything they get! Man- I really wanted to stand in that line!!! Why is it that the people taht make millions always get their stuff for free????
