Kevin - tickets haven't gone on sale yet - do you guys want to go with us?

Ooooooooo! That sounds pretty tempting. Les Mis is one of my all-time favorites as well. I believe I have seen it three times. Twice in Cincinnati and once in Syracuse. I may have seen it a fourth time in NYC but not really sure. Not among Amy's favorites, however. I'm not sure I can convince her to spend the money to see something we have both already seen. But, stranger things have happened.

And thanks all for the congratulations. I have been ecstatic since finding out the big news in early November. Keeping my mouth shut was pretty difficult. And uh, multiples, I think not.

you knew there had to a thread on this already - didn't you!!

Matthew Walt :earsboy:

here is a link
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=815205

also - I found this Disney list:

snip

Walter (WAL-ter) (Old German) "Commander of the army." Norman name that was brought to Britain and has been used rather steadily for the last 900 years. Cartoonist Walt Disney; poet Walt Whitman; journalist Walter Cronkite; actors Walter Brennan, Walter Matthau. [Gaultier, Gauthier, Gautier, Gualterio, Gualtiero, Valter, Valther, Walder, Wally, Walt, Walther, Wat, Watkins]
As you can see from my siggie, I'm partial to Walter! :teeth:
My DS is actually named after his great-grandfather, but most people I know don't believe me! Heck, 1/2 our family doesn't believe us! But he was! That it was Mr. Disney's name, too, was a bonus! DS is Walter, but we call him Walt (and mommy calls him Buddy :teeth: ). We get lots of "huh?"s from it since it's so unusual these days, but we just repeat "His name is Walt :) " He gets lots of "COOL!" and "WOW!" comments at WDW, of course!

you can come with us and leave Amy at home!! :rotfl:

I don't think you get a choice on the multiples!! But apparently we all seem to think we do!!

Steve and I are very happy that we didn't stop you all from having another - we were sure after that first dinner you two went home and said - no way!! :earboy2: As much as I loved only having Julia - having both is a million times better (well - usually!! ;) )

We saw Les Mis waaaaay back in 1990...after all the shows we have seen in both NY & London since, it is still me & my DH's favorite. I'd see it again if it were back in NYC again.

I love to see Wicked & the Odd Couple but tickets are near impossible to get...

Midnite - just did your poll. I pick Tiffany and to make matters worse, I introduced a different bowl into the mix.

As much as I like chocolate - you can never assume who is on a diet and who is allergic. Besides, a Tiffany bowl is something you would NEVER buy for yourself, but really glad you have one.

When I'm here.
I will just post meaning I can't talk.
:ssst:
I will post meaning I'm off.

Isn't this so stuip to have to do this.
This is why.
I need my life back.

Sorry if this has already been said, I didn't log on for a couple (3) days and I was like 45 pages behind.

OK - the kids say POS (meaning Parent over shoulder)

Brendita - you just say HOS (meaning Husband over shoulder) and we'll all know what you mean.

Just let us know you are here.

I'm really, really serious. We will coordinate everything around Brendita's arrival date. I will farm my DH and 2 DS out to my mom down the street so we will have 3 extra bedrooms and 2 queen size blow-up mattresses. I am a compulsive planner so you know I will start working out all the details.

Lynn

Can I come too? I have a friend who lives in ATL area so I won't need a room, just want to come for the party.

without hesitation - the tiffany bowl -

we get too much candy around here at Christmas - a bowl will be with them forever!!

That's almost exactly what I said on the other thread.

Beth

Yeah, I see your point(s). I will be going with the Tiffany bowls.

Thanks!

Steffy - are you still around?

tell me about when your granddaughter was in the American Girl fashion show!!

Her mother sits on a board where another member knew a board member that was putting on the show and told my daughter about the interview. My DGD is a perfect size 10. They needed the girls to be a size 10. She was offered the job. :goodvibes

The Bitty Baby fashion models (Julia at 4 would be a Bitty Baby), most of them were children of the volunteers. I know if Julia goes to the interview, she'll get the job. She is such a living doll!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Two suggestions:

First but equally important, as soon as you find out which shows she will be in, BUY YOUR TICKETS TO THOSE SHOWS!!!!! We could only see one show. The tickets to the last show go so quickly, we couldn't get tickets to that show.

Second but equally important, TAKE YOUR PICTURES, VIDEO, all that stuff during the dress rehearsal!!! Two reasons, one... you'll blind your daughter with the flash during the show. Two, during the show it is better if you can just relax and enjoy watching your daughter instead of trying to get the darn pictures. Also, the lighting was not ideal for pictures.

Be sure to pick up a catalog with the special keycode for the event. That is how the organization makes it's money.

It was a fun event. Be sure Julia brings her doll. All the girls do. The ones that attend the fashion show all bring their dolls. Quite a few were dressed like their dolls. It was a very nice event and a good money maker for the charity.

I'm not buying this unless you change it to, "I'm not a compulsive planner except when it comes to Disney trips."

I just had to know. Kevin said he wanted to know too, but maybe he was just going along with it because I'm so freakin' bossy. :rotfl:

Amy :)

Congrats to Amy, Kevin, and Alyssa! :cheer2:

How old will Alyssa be when her sibling is born? DD was 35 months old, which hadn't been our plan (wanted them 2 years apart), but it was wonderful anyway.

Even though I'm guessing Alyssa will be younger than that, I highly recommend reading her the book "I'm a Big Sister Now" as the due date gets closer. DMIL got it for DD and it helped tremendously. No jealousy when DS was born because -- as the book explains -- even though the baby needs a lot of attention, babies are too little to play on a playground or eat ice cream or do all the other fun things the big sister is old enough to do.

We also threw a "birthday" party at the hospital so DD and her best friend could eat cake in honor of the baby. And I read somewhere that it helps if the baby "gives" the big sibling a present, so we did that too.

When I was in college my sister and my bf's sister had babies within a month of each other -

my sister didn't find out - and it was so much fun to have her come out of the delivery room and say come meet Brian and learning then what he was

his sister a compulsive planner found out - his dad called when she left for the hospital - and called several hours later to say - she had him - they are both fine - and we went back to studying -

in that circumstance - it just wasn't as exciting to me to know and that is when I decided to never find out -

now I loved the game of it - people would say - "are you havign a boy or a girl" and I would say - "yep!" or "do you know what you are having" and I would answer "we're pretty sure its a baby!"

then I loved to listen to people guess as to what I was having and their reasons -I know it is a surprise whenever you find out - but since I am not a compulsive planner -I just love the fun of it!!
I'm with you Kate. Although I am a compulsive planner, this was one thing I did not need to know. People would say "how can you get ready for it if you don't know what it is?" Well, easy. Everything does not HAVE to be pink or blue.
