I think it will look really nice. Are you all doing the painting yourselves? We did 2 rooms with cathedral ceilings in our old house, to include the ceilings. It about killed my DH .

Yea - I'm kinda stubborn about stuff like that -

DH insisted I was not making built ins for our study...

this was my summer project (of course before I found the DDA!!)

How about "Disney Design Addicts Support Group" for our new name? We support each other's designs and everything else going on in our lives -- from poop patrol to job interviews to MIL stress and lots of other stuff.

Here's another fun thing to do with sugar cookies if you have small kids. I get salt shakers and fill them up with powdered jell-o. then before the cookies bake, I let the kids sprinkle on the color they want. They bake up bright and vibrant, and the flavor is out of the world. It is also a little less messy than candy sprinkles. Anyway, if anyone's interested, that's what we do!

yep - I used kitchen cabinets for the bottom and then built the bookshelves -
my dad helped me cut but I designed them and put them together - it was pretty easy - just time consuming


If I lived closer - I'd do them for you!!

Oh I have to take that back - Amy might start sucking up!!

Thanks. I didn't mean to make you feel bad - I was just joking - I know we have to come back. (But WHY).

I knew you were joking (sort of ). I have started thinking about why we have to come back (and when we can go back again ) and we don't leave for 10 days!

If you want to cry.... when we went on our honeymoon the price was $50 a point (we didn't buy then ) and the prices have climbed since then!! When we bought in 2002 they were about $72 a point. Currently they are $98 a point... but if you use an existing DVC person as a reference you can have 15% toward your down payment. IE: Put down 20% but only 5% comes out of your pocket. I don't know how long that lasts though. I've learned one think over the years (we went on the tour three times before we bought): the price never goes down!! It just rapidly increases. Our honeymoon was in 1996; less than 10 years later they have double the price per point.

We must have the same timelines! Couldn't afford it on honeymoon (around $50), couldn't convince DH to take the plunge at $72, finally talked him into it at $90 in July.... ONLY for them to do the discount 3 weeks after we closed! Oh well, we'll still get our money's worth. Just kills me that we could have gotten a better deal had we stalled a bit! Just FYI....that 15% discount expires January 15 according to several folks on the DVC boards. They say these sales are usually followed soon after by price increases, so if anyone is thinking seriously about it, now is the time!

so adding on just 50 points and I can book all my points there? I thought you could only book with those points - hmmm -guess what just went on my Christmas list!!!

I totally agree about VWL - I popped over to BWV my last day and just knew what had not been quite right about my week!!!

Kate, you're right about the ressies. You can only use the points at that home resort at the 11 month mark. Although some people report success trasferring points between their own contracts and being able to use them, but it's not a sure thing as it's not supposed to work that way... Still, with the discount.....I'd leave it on your list! I know it's on mine (but since I do the books around here, I *also* know Santa ISN'T putting it under the tree! )
