I vote for the name change. Something like The Chat Zone, maybe?? I'm not good with this kind of stuff.

Hey did you guys see the annoucment that the boards will be down for 1-2 hrs at midnight eastern standard time. They said they are moving the servers behind more secure firewalls.

Tammi - your house looks great!

Brendita -- I like your little tree.

We have started putting up a five foot tree now instead of our big ones. I have a 7 foot tree in both studios downtown and have to decorate those, plus all the windows have lights and garland and poinsettias in them... so I run out of oomph at home! Here is what we have this year:

Snow will reach Washington, D.C., around lunchtime Monday then the New York City area during the evening. Parts of Virginia could get over a foot of snow from this storm.

That's why I moved to Oregon.
It snows very little.
Sorry I grew up in Illinois.
It was my chore to shovel.
Not only my sidewalk.
Also all my eldery relatives.
Up until I was 35 & moved away.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my house. I really must give the credit to DH for the outside. He does it all. Usually we put the icicle lights around the ENTIRE roof line, but since we will be gone he opted to skip that part.

I forgot to take a picture of our fireplace w/ stockings. Oops. I don't do alot inside, just the tree and a few decorations. I'm not into knick-knacky type things. Mainly I don't have the time to put it up and take it down. For me it is just too much stuff, kinda like clutter. But when I see it in other homes, I like it. I guess maybe I just don't have the interior decorating gene.

I will be here being the "mommy taxi" as the kids will be back to school then. I hope the interview goes well!!! I guess you are thinking of moving here? Long Island is a nice to place to live, lots of shopping, close to NYC, great schools..taxes stink though!

Typically, the great schools and stinky taxes go together, though, right?

The outside of the house. There is a single candle in each window. Sorry that it looks like there is fire. It's hard to get a good night shot.

The house looks great.... but it TOTALLY looks like your house (upstairs) is on fire!!!

Marti/Dumby - I think the new name should reflect that we chat in here but that people can come in and get design advice - as much as I would like to say it is best for them to start a new thread - we all know we are much more responsive in here - although I do try to check the front page a couple times a day
