OK ... bear with me ..... I have a moral dilemma .......

OK .. so I won the trip, right?

there are 3 of us .. so I had an extra ticket. It ended up that I invited my neighbor and her 2 kids to join us. This was back in APRIL.

We were going to help pay for some of the extra expenses. We had decided to give them our "free" room at the Poly and we would stay at Shades of Green. she was going to pay for the SoG room ... but she can't stay there because she isn't military.

I chose the Poly - cause it was right next to SoG. Otherwise, cost-wise, she would have had to stay at the All-Stars ... and I would have felt guilty.

OK ... so she asks me to wait to tell them kids.

I decided I wanted to tell them by getting gold Mouse ears - she thought it was a great idea. We were going to tel them when school let out.

But then she stalled ... and stalled .. .and stalled!!!

Well ... I new I had 30 days to cancel SoG ... so I told her .. .with time to spare that there was a 45 day window to cancel SoG. (she is NOT good with time commitment!)

On countdown day 46 ... she tells me she can't go ... can't afford it.

Now ... I have been waiting to tell my own son .. since APRIL. It has been killing me!!!!

So ... I have a bad day ... got upset .. and then decided "oh well - get OVER it!"

So I did.

I cancelled the extra room at SoG. I told my son all about the trip and told him we're staying at the Poly! Hooray!


Fast forward to today.


I mention her Mom's company is taking over sponsorship of Spaceship Earth ... which turns into ... "you won't believe it but 7 days after I had to cancel ... I got a big check!"

So ... you guessed it ... can I go! UGH She still has a shoestring budget to go.


Now ,,, the money we were going to use to help her has been earmarked for meals. I made ressies for us for meals that we had not planned on doing.

I mentioned I already told my son about the Poly ... and she says .... "well he could sleep over and you and DH could have a night together." Nice -- but we're not clubbing, DTD type of folk. I put DS to bed ... and I crash shortly after! (at WDW at least!)

So ... now ... she asked me to check if there is space at SoG.

There is a HUGE part of me that just wants to tell her -- sorry, they're full. She doesn't GET how much planning I did ... they had to undo .. to re-plan for only 3 of us!!!

I just don't know what to do ... mostly cause I feel GUILTY about not wanting her and the kids now!!!!

We'll be with my family, and they have volunteered to keep the kids so DH and I can go out to lunch on Friday and then see Harry Potter GoF! Yes, I am a huge, huge, huge, huge, huge HP fan. Have all the books, read them a zillion times. Rees is following in my footsteps. He's only seen the 1st movie (other books/movies will wait for a few years), but he has a HP lunch box, back pack. The kids love to dress as Harry, Ron, and Hermoine.

Denise, you will LOVE the new Harry Potter movie. I saw it on Saturday. There were scenes when I thought to myself "I've seen this before" then realized it was because it was just like I pictured it in my head when I was reading the book!

OMG -

YES!! I am so sorry I never thanked you - They got them in the mail the day after we got home and they wre so excited - they were just perfect!! Especially Julia's - she was so excited her best friend had written her!!

I saod OK .. and needed to figure out plane ressies. I hung up and then I asked myself -- WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING??????


I called her and told her there was no room at SoG and if she wanted, I could help her find space at the All-Stars or Pop. She wasn't interested and said -- we'll just pass It wasn't meant to be.

DONE! It's DONE!

I still have ears for her kids .... So .. I will give them when we come back -- as souveniers. They don't know they were bought last May - and probably won't care. If Mom cares ... well ... sorry charlie. I bought them on good faith that we were all going.


BTW .. abiout going on a trip with people of different means .... that's not exactly true here. We both have about the same incomes ... problem is, we don't have to pay for a room, air, or any park tix etc. When we went last Feb -- we brought sandwiches into the park .. cause we could just about afford to go. Restaurants were out of the question. So, this time ... we're able to do that ... and it's nice.


I think the only thing I have left to do is call the kennel for my pup.

OH sorry - I thought I was 3 for a minute!!

Jennifer and Amy - I don't mind if I keep hosting game night - maybe someday she will get over it - but when you are allergic to animals - it makes it hard to make her spend time with one and get over it!!! It also doesn't help that are neighbors across the street have yappy little dogs that bark like the dickens and run at her stopping at their electrical fence EVERY time she goes outside

Lisa - I don't care what the conditions of my sleeping arrangements are as long as I am at the Poly and WDW!!!

does he kick - insist on laying on top of me and then a 2 year old will want to as well -

Did I mention .. I'm waiting on this same neighbor for the recipe. If all else fails ... there is one on the can!!!!


Oh .. .and I realized as I was baking last night ... my nephews girlfriend is a student at Johnson & Wales Culinary ... and wants to be a pastry chef! I Hope she'll go easy on me!!!!

I made a lattice on top of the blueberry ... I'm patting myself on the back for that one!!!

He's a MAJOR bed hog! He sleeps diagonal .. and insists on putting his ice cold tootsies into the small of my back!

BUT .... he's fun to cuddle.

The car ..... hmmmmm ...... it's a full size so that's a possibility. Of course when we move to SoG, you and Ben can flip for the sofa bed!

I DID .. and you guys helped! I needed someone to tell me - it's OK. I really did try to bend over backwards to help. I knew she couldn't afford to bring the kids. I thought we would have a great time with the 6 of us.

But there just comes a time when you snap from all that bending over backwards!

Ok, for all you BF gals. Anyone seen an add for Multi Media Cards for cameras? I need one with lots of storage for my new camera before Tuesday.

Denise - don't know if anyone has responded to you yet, but Office Depot has a good deal on a SanDisk 1 GB Memory Card that we're going to try to nab for our trip (we leave Monday - I'll look for you!). It originally is priced at $99 - they're selling it for like $55, and then there are a couple of mail-in rebates - the final price is $29.99. Good deal, and a 1 GB will hold a lot of pics!

Good luck to all those shopping BF - haven't been out in years (my shopping's almost done), but want this memory card and the HP 8250 I've already purchased elsewhere for my MIL. I can get it $50 cheaper!

I must be the odd DDAer out here because I haven't, nor do I have any desire to, shop on BF. I would not be able to handle the stress , the pushing, the shoving, the traffic , the waiting in line . I think I would end up going postal. (Can I say that here?) More power to you, you shopaholics.

I'm with you - I have no desire for the crowds. If I did have a desire for crowds, then I would head to Disney!!!

NO! Don't get sick. If you think you really are sick, however, get to the Dr. ASAP and get started on the meds now. You will be right as rain by the time you leave.

I agree - I've been sick since Saturday, 11/12. My dr. is big on treating the symptoms first and using antibiotics as a last resort. I finally got him to call me in a Z-Pack on Monday - 4 doses in, and feeling good. Z-Packs are awesome!!! This stuff is nasty - don't wait so you can have fun on your trip!!
