TINK2020 -- my Christmas will start to go up right after I take down my Halloween. Since I work 60 hours a week, plus a commute and have two boys playing two different sports, it will probably take me a couple of weeks. We decorate BIG TIME for Christmas -- two large trees, a small tree in each boys room, a curved staircase (that's why I wanted it -- for Christmas decorations). Inside and out is full of decorations. Even though it's a lot of work, I can't wait to get started!

Sounds like you have a similar philosophy on decorations....

I try to bust them out the first week of November, but I usually get yelled at. If they aren't out by my birthday, though (November 15th) then everyone KNOWS what they're doing that day :rotfl:

$515.00 extra fun.

Wow! That's one amazing change jar! We haven't counted ours up yet but we won't even make 100 :0( Maybe I'll do it tomorrow just to see...

Guys I was driving to work this morning feeling tired and ill when I looked at the car in front and they had the letters DDA on their number plate! Made me smile and think of all of you :goodvibes

I get them out first weekend of December and that's still a bit early for DH :wave2:

I remember when I was growing up that my parents always had our Christmas tree (real) up by December 1st. Everyone thought that it was odd that we decorated so EARLY. Now that is practically LATE!

Dh grew up with a sister who had a mid-December birthday. She didn't want a single Christmas decoration up until after her birthday. He still sees no reason to decorate early.

We compromise by getting the tree the first weekend in December and start the decorating then. We also leave the tree/decorations up until around January 7th so that they are still up for Epiphany (January 6th). It seems that most people I know have the tree/decorations down as soon as possible after Christmas.

Oh no that's waaay too early! You have to wait until December :0)

I'm gonna enjoy decorating this year as last year our house was being renovated and we were living with DH2Bs parents :0(

While I'm walking up the aisle in the Florida sunshine (hopefully touch wood) I'll think of you at home blowing out the candles on your :cake: and putting up your Christmas decorations :goodvibes

Edited: way too many typos!!

Christmas in our house, wellllll
Even after being married 36 years, I have never had DH help with anything about Christmas. He claims his father was so very particular about how the ornaments were placed on the tree that he just got tired of it. So unless I get a fake :earseek: tree, I need to get one small enough to fit into the car, be able to bring it in by myself and then make a lot of noise so he will at least help me get it in the stand. Also, with now three cats, I cannot put out some things I would like to put all over the house. So I enjoy going to my children's homes and watch them chase the cats, dog and now grandboys around with all the decorations. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Steffy and I are really getting serious about maybe taking a cruise in May of 2007 with a few days at WDW  :grouphug:

Steffy and I are going to another one of our favorite places tomorrow for just an overnight trip. Cape May :Pinkbounc We have been doing this trip for 9 years now. Christmas shopping, watching the ocean and good eats. Don't even care if it rains :cool1:

so - Nick has decided he is potty trained!! I know you all must think that is great

he has been going to the potty a lot this past week - by that I mean - walking to the bathroom - asking to be put on the toilet and then just sitting there - he has NEVER once gone in the bathroom -

so he just had a poopy diaper - and went to the bathroom - we went in -i cleaned him off and went to put him on the potty - NO

so I tried to put the diaper on - NO
potty - NO
diaper - NO- and points at potty
try to put him on potty - NO
diaper - NO- and points at potty
try to put him on potty - NO
diaper - NO- and points at potty
try to put him on potty - NO

I finally got it - he was telling me no more diapers he will just go in the potty from now on - he doesn't quite understand that he has to go potty successfully a couple of times before he can be done with diapers -

hey - the bright side maybe potty training is right around the corner!!!

We're with you! Kyle turned 2 in June and goes on the potty at night before he takes his bath. Between a trip to DC for my brothers wedding earlier this month and going to see Mickey next week we decided to put off the official beginning of potty training until we get back- but I am well stocked in Pull-Ups and Thomas the Train underwear!

We keep ours up until just after the first of the year. Even then I don't want to, but at that point it's just 'cause it's no fun! :)

You will not! :) If anything, we will be all thinking of YOU, in the Florida sunshine on your very special day!

We do our house in all white lights....white candles in the windows, white lights and garland around the front porch railing, white lights along the rooftop. DH is the envy of all other wives and the scourge of all the husbands in our neighborhood when he is up on the rooftop stringing out Christmas lights. (all I hear from them is "why can't I get my DH to do that??") Oh I'm getting all goosebumply thinking how pretty that looks in the dead of a winter night, with snow on the ground. That is, if we ever get snow where we live.

Hi all. I think I'm finally catching up on the thread and my email LOL
The shirts were a big hit. Everytime we went into a park they would give us buttons and stickers. And a lot of people asked us where we got them.

I have a ton of pics. My sister wants me to do a digital scrapbook using a sticker book we picked up at a gift shop. I'm going to scan the pages from the book and using them as backgrounds.

Here are a few pics
