Thanks! Kevin and I are big character people (we didn't ride a single ride at the two MNSSHPs we went to) and we're so happy that Alyssa isn't scared of them. The photopass pictures only depict a few of the characters we saw, because they really only have photopass photographers around the "big names." One of our favorite character sitings is the Epcot bus (Characters on holiday). We seeked out the bus at least 4-5 times! Also, Mike and Sully have their own garage at MGM...it's right across from the ABC Commissary restaurant. Seriously, we're character "experts," so if anyone is looking for someone specific, feel free to PM me! :)

I found my v-neck shirt at Kmart, but it was on summer clearance, so I'm not sure if it's regularly in stock. I actually bought two, but my name didn't iron on the back smoothly on the first one, because of the v-neck hem. We learned our lesson and ironed my name lower on the second shirt and there were no problems. Unfortunately, I couldn't find another v-neck and I ended up with a scooped neck fitted shirt from Michaels to redo the first shirt.

Regarding Alyssa's first haircut, really it only entailed giving her bangs, so she could see again (she just wouldn't keep barrettes in!). The barber, Michal, also evened things out a bit, but her haircut lasted only about five minutes (including him applying about 25 Mickey stickers to distract her in the beginning). He gave her some Mickey ears that said "first haircut" on the back (she pulled that off within a minute :teeth: ) and he also wrapped up her hair in some tissue paper with some "pixie dust" and gave us a certificate too. Hopefully Kevin will post pictures for you all soon (really, I should have paid attention to the picture posting tutorial he tried to give me about a month ago, but I'm a terrible, impatient student :rotfl: ).

Amy :)

Thanks for the tips Amy. We are riders so if the characters aren't there when we go by, we just keep going. That's probably why we haven't even found Mike and Sully! (We have found Captain Hook several times in MK though.)

The first haircut sounds cute! I have seen the colored gel/lots of Mickey confetti hairdo for boys and couldn't imagine something like that on your sweet little girl. :)

It sounds like I might be waiting a while for the v-neck shirts, but I will keep my eyes peeled!

Thank you all for the kind words, and you are probably right.
Sometimes my wife and my sense of humour is a little on the dark side. I didn't mean to bring the room down.

No apologies necessary, as far as I'm concerned. I am sure that, although we may not have noticed, you have to deal with plenty of stares, etc .... because let's face it -- people can be downright rude. Some people, that is. :)

I think it's great that you can have that kind of humor.... people SHOULD know that it's not appropriate to stare, but I'm sure that doesn't stop some!

We think your daughter is just great around here :goodvibes

Just wanted to "ditto" everything Jennifer said.

To all my fellow DDAs...

... just checking in. I've missed the late nights with you all! It's no fun reading once every day or two and having to catch up on 10 pages!! :)

Things here have been a little rough (you know, when it rains it pours....) but I wanted to say hello! I also wanted to share my excitement this morning. It won't mean a thing to anyone who isn't in my program dealing with the garbage that's going on, but I got the hospital I wanted for my preceptorship next semester! :Pinkbounc  :cool1:

This doesn't solve any BIG problems, but it's one thing off my shoulders. Just so you have a clue, it's like getting breakfast with Cindy. My old roommate and I were refreshing this page online with the fastest fingers possible from 7:58-8:00:00 and both got in!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks :) Like I said, that probably means nothing important to you all, but there's nobody here to celebrate with right now!

Keep us in your prayers.... hopefully I'll have more time to update and stay up to date on all you'ins here! :grouphug:

Congrats! That is great! The right hospital makes all the difference in the world.

I was wondering if anyone was interested in designing a shirt with a toungue in cheek attitude. My wife would like a shirt that states "Stare a little longer and she might do a trick!"

I know we have a cute daughter but it seems that when she's on her crutches or walking slowly holding a hand. people stop and stare, wondering what is wrong with her. She has Cerebral Palsy do to the fact she was 8 weeks premature.

So if anyone is up for the challange or willing to walk on the dark side a little, let me know. I don't know what character to use, but your ideas are more then welcome.

Thanks all.

I read this post and was a little confused! Then I looked at the pictures. I had never noticed the crutches before. She is one of the most BEAUTIFUL little girls I have EVER seen. I thought my kids were beautiful, but man, your daughter is gorgeous! You can hardly see the crutches she is so enchanting on her own!

Yes, she is beautiful. My Rees and Brantley-Kate both have CP too (hypotonic CP) from being preemies (11 weeks early). Brantley-Kate is in her legs so she falls a lot, is very unsteady, etc. Rees' is in his trunk and arms and one leg. He mainly has problems where he can't hold items well, difficulty writing, etc. I know what you are going through. Just remember God only gives these AWESOME kids to very luck moms and dads. Those other people are jerks and have no clue how blessed we are to have them in our lives.

Ok, off my soapbox and back to my normal goofy self...

Wow I think I have a tear rolling down my cheek. *Questioning Sexuality Again* :goodvibes OK back, you ladies sure do know how to make a father proud.

We know she's beutifull, but it's really cool hearing other people say it.

I do think I'm creating a KAA shirt though that says, "What are you thssstaring at?" This way it can be taken any way the viewer wants.

The "thssstaring" is suppose to be like a hiss, so any help on how that would be spelled would be appreciated.

I look forward to posting our Fastpass pictures, but think I might be spending a small fortune.

I have to be honest with you.......The many times I have seen pictures of your daughter at the bottom of your siggie I never even noticed the crutches until your post last night. She is so adorable that I never saw past that pretty face.

I was going to post the same thing! I never noticed and she is adorable!! princess:

I like the KAA idea... and I think the hiss is right the way you spelled it. Did you see the one a few pages back that Paul did that says "are you staring at me?" and it is goofy with the huge binoculars? It looks great on a shirt -- sometimes the graphics look even better when you put them on the fabric. Good luck with the shirt. Both Paul and I have a dark sense of humor. One of the shirts he is wearing to the MNSSHP is one that says: "what were you expecting, Cinderella?? " (btw, Paul is a 300 pound man, making the statement a little funnier!).

Glad you like this thread -- we're all pretty fond of it. And yes, your daughter is gorgeous. I would be a proud parent!!

She is absolutely adorable! And she reminds me a lot of my dd when she was that age. Be careful, don't blink too long or you will have a 12 year old! I'm not sure where that time went somedays.

Triplefigs--your three are absolutely adorable, too. The boys look a little like one of my younger ds's friends (he's 6), and I can see that boy turning into a "piggy bank" too! Sometime, I'll tell you about the time my dd stuck an unpopped popcorn kernel in her ear...what are they thinking?!?!

I have to say I never noticed them either until machntosh posted, then had to look twice because I didn't even notice them the first time.

I am very new to PhotoImpact and I'm just trying to learn how to use it, but I made this design for a poster for my daughters wall. She loved it.

Oh, I meant making the Cruise designs. Actually physically making a shirt? I'll probably not end up making any cause I'm too scared to try! All those designs, and I'll be walking around WDW seeing other people in my shirts while I'm wearing the generic store bought ones!

Don't you dare Denise! Be brave and make some of your shirts - although if Kate is back before your trip you could always ask her to iron them on for you - she's had enough practice :rolleyes1

BUT- I find it necessary to make a comment about Minnie-. Now.... I don't want to be a gossip or anything like that, but for someone that is supposed to be so fashionable- she needs to check out her Halloween get up. That mask she wears makes her look crosseyed! Should we be tru friends??? Gosh- what would a true firend do? Would they tell her, or just overlook it and focus on her inner beauty?!!?!? Truely the dilemma for the day, don't ya think???? ;)

:rotfl: that's just what I thought - what was she thinking when she bought that dress!! :rotfl:
