hey design family,
please send prayers and thoughts towards houston. my family has to stay and hunker down for 75 mile per hour winds. traffic is stopped thats why we are staying. i don't like it but only can leave with family. i'll report back after the storm. thanks

You're in my prayers! I have family in Houston also. I called and talked to them this am. They told me about the traffic, no gas, and had been packed for a day. They are hopefully headed to Waco as we speak. I used to work in Galveston, and I am so upset over all this. The rest of my family lives in Mississippi and were hit by Katrina. Now Rita... and my in-laws just called and told us my DH's grandmother is in the hospital in B'ham with kidney failure and it doesn't look good. We're leaving after the kids school tomorrow to go say goodbye. This has been an unbelievable few weeks. I am so ready to go to WDW and escape for a while.

I am so sorry that you can't get out. They are predicting that this will be as bad if not worse than Katrina. I'll send Pixie dust and prayers your way. I am constantly watching the coverage and did not know anyone in the areas that will be effected. Knowing that you will be there make this storm even more personal. Prayers and Pixie Dust.

(this idea came from our school, the school photographers made some little cards last year. They are outdated now so I will make my own. There is a website listed on the cards of www.missingkids.com and it says you can learn how to keep your kids safer on that site)
I am making little business sized card with each of my kids names, age, Height, Weight, Hair and eye color. They will have a recent head shot of each child along with Dh and My name, cell phone number, hotels and dates. I plan to laminate them and Dh and I will have one for each child and they will have one in their belly bag so they can show it to a CM. Now that I think about it maybe I will put them on a T-shirt Transfer and iron it on to a small piece of fabric. I can pin it to the inside of their shirts or shorts. That way it will be on them even if they decide not to wear the belly bag. The older boys are 7 and 9 and can follow instructions. I just need to teach the little one what to do.

Pixie dust and prayers to you. I have familly in Port Aranas and they decided to stay in Aransas Pass at thier sons house. Also have family that live near Port Arthur and they were trying to get to Austin. She called us last night to say I-10 was closed and they were going toward Jasper, Tx. So I'm sending up lots of prayers for their safety and the safety of their homes and buisnesses.
So I will just add all my friends on the Dis that live around Houston to my prayers.

Thank you, Jennifer. I had a hard time with it last night. I had to cut the hat off of another picture and do a lot of correcting to make it look right. Everytime I would click save in PhotoImpact, the whole program would shutdown with out saving. Very frustrating.

thanks all. sorry to hear about everything your going through. as the saying goes when it rains, it pours. wish i could say i could escape to wdw soon. my trip isnt until '07. it will be well deserved when it gets here .

Where did you keep the ID cards?? I could keep a copy on myself in my backpack but where would the kids keep them in case they were lost??

My oldest daughter put hers in her fanny pack. For the rest of the kids, I laminated the cards, then punched holes on either side and threaded them on some string. They wore them around their necks underneath their shirts. I used really heavy kitchen string, so they wouldn't break, and knotted them really well.

Sorry to go back to T-shirts, but does anyone know who made the design "Even Mickey loves the Red Sox" with the Mickey playing baseball? I saw it on someone's finished shirt. DH is a BIG Red Sox fan (I don't know if I would've married him if I had known--GO YANKEES! ) He is just beside himself to have that shirt before our trip next week. We are making shirts on Sunday, so if anyone knows where I could find that design, he would be thrilled!

Wow.. you guys sure have been chatty today I LOVE the 7 Dwarf designs you guys have come up with!! I have a quick design request from one of you creative people... I'd love to have a sailor mickey and minnie if anyone can find one... DH is in the navy and I'd love to have something to wear around to parks to show how proud of him I am (he's having a hard month at work right now Disney is going to be a much needed break for him!!)

Hi -

I think I am going to give the bracelet and the id tags on the shoes a try -

Julia tells everyone her name - so I don't care if she has it on - it wouldn't take a genius to get her name out of her - all they would have to do is look at her

I like the tags on the shoe idea but want something for when they don't have their sneakers on and they are too young for an id card - no where to put it!
