Disney Depression

It has been 13 days since I got home from the trip, and I have fallen into that post-Disney depression that is so common. I haven't even been on the boards to report on my trip.

I've got stories to report on my first sit-down meal ever at Disney World, a Magical Express mishap, and riding Splash Mountain over and over without getting out of the boat.

Any tips to fight the blues?

Write a trip report. That always helps PDD.

Oh the post trip blues. Go on the boards A LOT!

I understand what you are going through. I myself stay away from the boards for about a week or so after I get back from a wdw trip. I usually start planning another trip or I will help my family or friends plan their next trip.

I like to watch the Disney planning DVDs - they help fight the post vacation blues . . . not mention they help fuel the desire to start planning again.
Sometimes I've even planned vacations that never came about - for me planning is half the fun :goodvibes

The only thing I've found is to start planning for the next trip, even if it's years down the road. I usually start a document and just type up every idea I get for what I want to make sure and do...next time! I've only written half of a trip report for our Disneyland Paris trip but that was fun and helpful too. I'd love to read about your trip if you care to write one :thumbsup2 ::yes::.

I am usually Disneyed-out when we get home. After the planning, reserving and running around I find it a relief to be home. :)

Share some of your favorite trip stories with us here! How did you get to ride Splash Mountain so many times?

I know how you feel. After our first trip I was feeling blue for weeks. However, last year we planned our trip the first week of December, and when we came home we were in the throes of Christmas planning and decorating, and we hung up our Disney ornaments on the tree. Having something else to distract me helped a great deal.

We planned this year's trip for the same week. We'll be there Dec. 4-12. So when we get back the kids will have one week of school before Christmas vacation.

I did stay away from the boards last time, however this time I think I might actually post a trip report.

Please let us know how your trip went!:yay:

Deb

We go through this every trip. You know when it ends? When we are leaving for our next trip! :lmao: Seriously!

To kill that time we scrapbook, plan the next trip, and of course, spend a lot of time on the DIS! :thumbsup2

You are not alone with this issue!

I've been living with Disney Depression for 5 years...:) . The last time I went was on Dec. 2004.
I plan my trip for the next time I go back (don't know exactly when), watch some videos on youtube, read trip reports, watch the DVD planning vacation.
I sometimes like to see the pictures I've have taken on past trips.
Let us know when you write your trip report we'll love to read it!

We have alot of Disney dinners.. There are threads here or All Ears has recipies.. I try to recreate some of my favorite meals and eat lots of Mickey Waffles. Also trips to the Disney store or a fun resturant (Rainforest Cafe) tend to help me. On top of that the boards and Disney Music are key..

start planning your next trip....I am currenlty planning two trips (which probably wont happen at all) because the only trip that is for shure isnt until july

I am usually glad to be home. My cats and dog miss us when we are gone so they want extra attention. The kids are always ready to be home and in their own space. I know I'm glad for my own space when we get home!

Plus we are usually busy catching up on laundry and work so I don't have time to miss Disney.

When things do quiet down, I make notes on what we might like to do next time that we didn't get to on that trip. And listen to any CD's I bought and help answer folks questions on the Disboards.

I hope you recover from your PDD soon!

If you can't get your head around writing a trip report then just post a few highlights. Record some of your touching or funny stories. Rant a bit about things that didn't go right. These will be your memories recorded to keep.
Then get on the threads and answer questions and offer advice. You are a desirable being, you were just there you can tell it like it is right now.
I find helping others with their Disney questions helps to bring me back to my happy place.
