Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

How cool to ride the slinky bus. I don't think I have even seen one yet.

Cool picture of the bus! I'm interested to see what they look like in person.

I sure hope FP+ works well for us in October. I'm not overly thrilled with the idea of it yet.

I have always tried to get good photos in the rides, and of the fireworks...never works for me, either. :rolleyes2

Man, we won't be going back to the World until 2017...gonna be a LONG, hard wait! But, we have the cruise in October, then we have decided to take beach vacations for the next two years. In 2017 we will be doing a BIG Disney trip for DD15's graduation gift...during Star Wars Weekends. She is a big SW fan...well, our whole family is. :thumbsup2

We used to have those slinky busses in Milwaukee. I'd ride them in high school. The drivers were always crazy!

I also can't believe you waited so long to get into MK! My kids are little though, so any other park first isn't an option. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day!

PS, we leave in 28 days, and my girls are wearing your dresses to Chef Mickey's for breakfast! I'll be sure to post pics!

I finally got over here to see your update (darn cold is kicking my you know what).

A slinky! Exactly! That is what the new buses remind one of. We got on one just once I think in June.

It's nice to have those longer trips where you don't have to be at the parks from opening to closing.

Pirates is a good way to start the day (as long as you don't get stuck on it for an hour :rotfl:). My pictures in there rarely turn out either. But I'll continue to try just like you Lisa.

:wave2: Hi Lisa!

As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm always woefully behind when I stumble over your TR's...but I'll do my best to try and catch up!

Ok thanks :thumbsup2 That's good we may go for an afternoon tour :)

Now that you can schedule FP+, you should be able to work the tour into your plans. Mid-day would be a good time to get away from the hustle and bustle of the park.

Great Updates as usual!

I'll never understand why they place the steak on top of the mashed potatoes and asparagus. Does anyone actually cut their steak while its sitting on top of the potatoes? While presentation is something nice I go to a place for the taste - not how pretty the food looks when its placed in front of me. Also, I agree with you on the smooshy rolls. I don't want no crusty rolls on my plate!

I don't understand that either. Like you said, the presentation is always pretty though. I want a good old smooshy fluffy roll too.

I liked your picture of the new articulated buses at disney world (aka bendy busses) we actually have a bunch of them in toronto and they are really cool looking on the roads

I think that I may have another picture of the bendy buses later on but I haven't come upon it yet.

Great update! I saw the Articulated buses a lot but we never got to ride on one I really wanted too, but oh well. FP+ also works out well for us too, instead of getting a random time we get to pick our FP time.

The buses were neat to watch because the middle would turn and bend. Very cool!

Those big busses remind me of trains. They're cool huh? ;)

Pictures on PoTC never turn out. :sad2: I wonder if anyone EVER gets them to come out well. I already told DH to practice taking pictures in the dark before we go again. Maybe he can figure something out.

Now that you said that, they do look like trains! I hadn't thought about that.

I know that my camera has settings but I rarely use them. I guess I should.

Wow it is so funny you mention the bus system at CBR. We had the same luck! Most times the bus was either just pulling up or was already there waiting! With all the negative talk about CBR's bus system I think people have to hear how good there bus system really is. I just love that resort!

It's always good to hear another poster saying that the buses at CBR are good. Lots of folks are always fussing about the buses there and the number of stops. I actually like the multiple stop set-up.

I have been wondering what it's like to ride in one of those double buses. The first time I saw one I was :faint: It must be crazy when the first half turns and the second half hasn't. I feel for the bus driver. I don't think I would ever be capable of driving something that long. Watch out! :rotfl2:

Never give up on pirates pictures. I see some that are literally fantastic. I'm not sure if my camera has the settings to let that much light in, but there are some ways to use your manual settings to let more light in and get better pics. You just need a few instructions before you go again!

The buses were pretty neat to watch in motion. It really does look odd when the first half is turning and the second half is still straight.

If i were to take the time to study the settings on my camera, I might have better luck with my pictures. :rolleyes1

Too funny about the slinky bus. I love trying to figure out what your update will be based on your titles. I had no clue on this one!

Score one for me! I stumped you with the title!

I agree- 5 days is WAY too long to wait to get to the MK.

Lacey and Jesse are supposed to go with us next trip and I am trying to figure out how to work the MK into the trip twice. They will only be there five full days but want some DTD time. We may possibly do an evening and a full day at the park.

Good choice to move that up on the schedule!

I am not happy to hear that the wait times for Pirates are longer now with FP+ in place. This is always one of our go-tos when we have some time to kill.

I said that the wait times were longer but I think that the longest we saw was 20 minutes. It's not that long but still longer than we are used to.

I usually don't take many pictures on pirates, mainly because I always seem to be seated next to a scowling guest (my DH)

:rotfl2:

Great bus mojo this morning! No wait, and one of the new busses. They just look so neat. Pictures on Pirates are hard to get because of the low light, and a lot of cameras just don't like the low light.

We have always had pretty good bus mojo at the CBR and it was a plus that we got to ride one of the new buses.

Thanks!! So glad to hear you had good luck with the buses at CBR! That is one of my biggest worries. We are in the pirate rooms so I'm bummed to be far away from the action, but it is my kid's first trip so we'll mostly be at the parks anyways.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too terribly much about the buses. As I said, we have always had good luck with the buses. I have never once seen a bus too full to pick up guests. Trinidad South will be either the last stop or fourth stop depending on the bus route.

Got behind again! Oops!

Yay for making it to Magic Kingdom! I always make us go on the first day, I just can't wait. :lmao:

I noticed much more crowds than I had seen in May in the past, and it seemed like most afternoons EVERY ride at line of at least 30 minutes. :confused3

It's okay, I'm always behind myself/.

The crowds were a little busier this time around but we came in the day they were having the 24 hour celebration and during Star Wars Weekends. Thank goodness for FP!

Slinky busses! we have them here in Chicago. scary stuff...

as for the camera? if you ever need help i will be more then happy to help you! :thumbsup2

loving Pirates!!!
The only buses that we have here are just plain old buses and I hate to say it but I wouldn't take one unless my life depended on it. The people who ride on them aren't the greatest of character...if you know what I mean.

All caught up again. Loved your day at Epcot. So happy that you found your wandering way to the resorts area. Those resorts are sooooo beautiful. Though I was disappointed with the Beach CLub stay we had last summer. But being in that area cannot be beat. LOVE  walking in and out of the parks from there.

I can certainly see why that resort area is so popular. I just wish that my pocketbook liked it as much as I do. ;)

If you are looking for a great place to eat in that area, I highly recommend going to Big River Grille. You can sit inside or out. The food has always been great (and we have gone there several times), and it isn't outrageously expensive. It is on the Boardwalk. If you are there in the evening (after 6), there is entertainment along the Boardwalk area as well.

I've read a lot of good reviews of Big River Grille. I just wish that they'd take ADRs.

The buffet at Cape May for dinner is good. Sort of pricey, however. But if you enjoy crab legs/mussels and such, you would probably enjoy it.
We've never eaten at Yachtsman Steakhouse, but it always gets good reviews. But it is $$$$$$$$$$$$.
Your MK morning looked enjoyable so far. Can't wait to read more.

I have Cape May on my list of "may go to" restaurants for our next trip. I don't like mussels at all but do like crab. We'd be on the dining plan so the cost wouldn't be an issue. :thumbsup2

Hey a fellow SW Ontarioan! Have you seen the new articulated streetcars?? OMG talk about HUGE! Oops soo sorry for the momentary thread-highjack :lmao:

No need to apologize. I don't mind highjacking at all.

How cool to ride the slinky bus. I don't think I have even seen one yet.

They were neat to see in action Jen. The middle rotates and bends. So cool!

Oooh the new buses look neat!

I love the new FP+ and Magic Bands. I used it for the first time back in January and didn't have one problem! It was so much easier than having to run for a paper fast pass. That's just my opinion though. I know it's a hot topic on the theme parks board.

I've only see the mock up, ne they had on display for doors open and in the beaches easter parade but it's not long now until they start rolling on the streets.

Just in case people are wondering they are 98 feet long.

I totally know what ya mean... I don't take buses here... When the slinky buses started there were several accidents involving them... :rolleyes2

I've gotten so far behind again. With the kids starting school I have been neglecting my DIS time.

Was that one of the stretch buses y'all got. We keep seeing those and was hoping we would get to ride one but we never did. I love Pirates of the Caribbean it's very high on my list of favorite rides. And they are suppose to be coming out with a new movie. I can't wait.

Can't wait to see how the rest of y'all's day goes.

I find it interesting how different public transit is in the US than here in toronto, yeah every now and then you have a odd person on a streetcar, subway train or bus that has a conversation with their muffin or talks to them self. However in the US it seems to be a completely different type of person that uses public transit ss you find poell in all kinds of different job, etc. Our last mayor before Rob Ford even used to use the subway to get around he wa sometime spotted holding those giant checks from a presentation for something every now and then.

My first guess was the Slinky Dog at TSMM, but I didn't know what your plan for the day was.
cool looking buses - I hope it makes them run more smoothly and they will have less waiting at the park at the end of the night with more capacity.

Not a lot of people use public transit buses here - some do for commuting, and now we have light rail that runs in certain areas. Good if you commute from the suburbs to the downtowns (I say "downtowns" because we have two - Minneapolis and St. Paul). I don't work in the city, so I drive. A lot. Good thing I love my car!

Anyway - always fun to ride POTC - dark pictures or not! I don't even try. I've heard the same thing about the standby times - longer for many rides that never had them before. But that is part of the system that spreads people around the parks. I think that was one of the goals of FP+.

ok, turn about is fair play! All week this stupid song has haunted me ....

"What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs
and makes a slinkity sound?
A spring, a spring, a marvelous thing!
Everyone knows it's Slinky.
It's Slinky, it's Slinky,
It's fun, it's a wonderful toy.
It's Slinky, it's Slinky, it's fun,
It's a wonderful toy.
It's fun for a girl or a boy. "

:lmao:

Yes i'm, a dork and had to google the actual lyrics. I know based on the fact that you're also celebrating your 30th this year that we're about the same age and you must remember the hideous clothes those poor kids wore in the commercials!!
