Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Congrats on booking the trip, and thanks for the update on your mother. It could be an inner ear thing...I've had that before.

Morning! It's not even 9:30 a.m. and it's already a busy morning. First off, Mama's echo came back fine but the ultrasound showed something that may require more tests. The tech who did it had never done one before so she's going to see if the doctor thinks it's even necessary to do another one. Now, she believes that it may be something else that's causing the dizziness and nausea. Possibly inner ear? Anyway, she has an appointment this morning at 10:45 and we'll know something more then. Or at least we hope that we will.

On a very much happier note, I booked our May/June, 2015 trip this morning! Our dates are May 23rd to June 6th...another two whole weeks in paradise!

I hope to get replies and another update posted today. My boss has several appointments coming in which means I may possibly have some time in between to write.

TTFN!

I'm glad mamas appt went well! :))

Congrats on booking your trip! 2 weeks again?!! Eeeeekkkk!!

I called this morning too to get a quote for February and for some reason- it was a lot higher than I thought... I'm going to check things out for myself on the computer after awhile...

I love school bread and I completely forgot to get me one on our trip. While we were in Norway the kids we playing Agent P and the youngest forgot her pressed penny n Mexico and I had to run back to Mexico to get another and I just forgot. The bad thing about Epcot is there are so many good places to eat and so many places to get a good snack. I never can decide if I want to sit and eat a meal or snack around the world. This trip we had sit down lunches because it was a nice break from the heat. Hope your mom gets a good report from the doctor. Im keeping her in my prayers.

Congrats on booking your next trip. My DH is coming home today from his 2 week hitch so hopefully we can decide what we are doing next year.

Hi Lisa! Yay for booking your next trip!!!! :cheer2: Hope the Dr can figure out what's causing your mother's dizziness. My grandmother has issues with her inner ear, which causes her to be dizzy. She gets it every once in a while. My mom has had it a few times & even I have had it once (so they think). Wonder if it's hereditary?! :scratchin Anyways. Hope they get to the bottom of it. Looking forward to the next update when you have the time!! :wave2:

I forgot to comment on your mom's health. WOOT on the good results but bummer on the dizziness. I really hope you get some answers on that since i know how debilitating that can be. Our niece has been suffering for close to a year now to the point where she is on un-paid leave and they still have to put their lil one in daycare for fear of dropping her :sad2:

I hope you get answers on Mama's dizzyness quickly! Prayers for her and you!

Yay you booked!!!! So exciting hearing everyone book today!!

As always, Hunter cracks me up - those pics of him and the Norweigan troll had me giggling out loud at work :lmao:

I'm glad you got to try something new with the the school bread. I'm sorry it didn't live up to the hype. I also ate one last week and it didn't taste like I remember. I used to think school bread was one of the best WDW snacks ever, but what I had last week was bland so not sure if they changed the recipe or my taste buds have changed. :confused3

My "try something new" snack this past trip was a White Rabbit cake cup from the Cheshire Cafe. It was yellow cake with buttercream frosting in a cup with white chocolate rabbit ears and a candy flower on top. It was very tasty if you have a sweet tooth (which I totally do, much to my thighs and behind's chagrin).

I'm so glad we got to meet! I knew it was you when I spotted you, because ya'll were looking at the pretty flowers and I know you love gardening! :flower3: Girl, your wavy bangs ain't got nuttin' on my curly/frizzy birds' nest hair! You look lovely in the picture as you always do (well...except maybe for that Hannibal picture you posted in one of your past TRs). ;) Seriously, humidity and my hair are not friends!
You recall correctly, we were on our way to use our Soarin' FPs. (speaking of FPs how did you like the new FP process?)

I hope our paths cross again sometime, would enjoy spending more time with ya'll chatting!

I'll continue to keep your Mama in my prayers.

Getting caught up! Very busy here 8 days until we are at Disney! Eek! And lots of extra work at my JOB, sigh. Praying they find and fix what is ailing your Mama! I am so enjoying this TR. We are going to try the school bread And the Troll horn this time. Your report has put more to do's on our list. Thanks!

The fiddle in the church is beautiful! I think we skipped the church in Norway last year and I did not see it. I'll have to take a trip into it in December. I do like school bread. ;) However, I do agree with a pp on the fact that the recipe has changed. I noticed it a couple of years ago. There is more cinnamon or something in it now and about half of the filling. It used to be loaded with the filling. I am going to be paying more attention to Norway next time we go. I got my DNA done and apparently I am 17% Scandinavian and had no clue at all. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 on the dismeet.

There is nothing wrong with your hair in that pic. Ya'll look great! When I get in that humidity I end up looking like I stuck my finger in a light socket! :scared1:

Hope your mom's appt went well this morning & that y'all were able to get some answers.

And YAY! for booking your 2015 package! :dance3: I did the same tonight for our DLR trip next year. So excited! :cool1:

Those pictures of Hunter with the troll are hilarious. He seems like the kind of kid I love to have in my classroom. I love a student with a great sense of humor!

You sound like me at the end there - I never notice when people are calling to me! :rotfl2: Sometimes I don't even notice when people are right in front of me, talking to me.

Just under 2 months. 43 days until CBR and the Mouse.

It'll be here before you know it!

We, too, have never stopped for treats in the Kringla Bakery. Your treats look so yummy! Sorry they weren't all that great. I think I'll skip getting a sweet treat there and head to France instead.

Fun that you had a surprise meet up!

Both of the pastries looked very good but didn't live up to the hype. Oh well, I tried it.

It was a very nice meet! I'm so glad that she called my name.

Sorry you didn't like School Bread. It's something I have been wanting to try if only for the toasted coconut and the cream but it didn't look like yours had all that much cream inside. I wondered if the "Bread" part was closer to a roll or a doughnut, I guess I know now. I may still try it but at least I won't be expecting a sweet doughnut and get a dry roll.

There wasn't very much cream in the center which surprised me a bit. The bread was just a plain bread and not very good.

Add me to the list of Frozen fans. I loved the movie, the music is good, the animation is beautiful, too. I did like "Tangled" maybe a little better though. I don't see the need to wait in a line for 3 hours to have a pic with Anna and Elsa either.

I loved Tangled! As a matter of fact, the other day when I was cutting out backsacks, it was on and I watched it again. There was nothin' better on so why not. ;)

I've heard several reports that the school bread was "Just OK" lately. I've never tried it myself but Kringla is on my list for my upcoming trip. Let's face it all the bakeries are on my list for my upcoming trip! :lmao: I want to try that sweet pretzel that they sell.

Your section titles always crack me up! I can't wait to read your next update.

I wasn't blown away by it. I wasn't disgusted either. It was, like you read, "just okay". I have tried a pretzel with the cream cheese in the middle. It was good but again, not something that blew me away.

It seems that we either say something goofy that makes a trip report title or somebody around us does. Sure does make it easier when coming up the the titles.

Love Hunter's poses! We also thought the School Bread was only OK... And that was a few years ago.

Hunter is the one that you can always count on to give us a silly picture. The school bread is not something that I'll go back for in the future.

Something tells me there is some school bread on the horizon! Let me go back and find that update. I'm so far behind. :faint:

I did watch frozen. I did one of those 24 hour rentals on verizon and watched it twice. I could not get Nick or Denny to watch it with me. I liked it. It was cute. I do love the theme song and thought it was really well written. But don't feel bad for not wanting to see it. I still think Toy Story is the all time best Disney movie! No wait - maybe Mary Poppins! :rotfl:

Oh now, if I see Toy Story on television, I'm going to watch it. Same with Monster's Inc and Bug's Life. I love those movies. It's been years since I've seen Mary Poppins.

So just a little love for the school bread? :rotfl:

Yeah, just a little. I guess that I had built it up to be so much better and probably let myself down.

I tried that horn thing and it was just Okay. I think its because they don't use as much sugar in their pastry. When I eat pasty I am used to sweet and it just isn't.

Uh yeah, if I'm going to eat what I consider to be a dessert pastry, it needs to be sweet.

Yay for an impromptu DIS meet. I hear ya on the hair versus Florida humidity. It's a battle my hair will never win.

I was so glad that she shouted my name. Otherwise, I would have just kept on walking. The humidity does crazy things to my hair! I should just keep a barrette in my pocket at all times.

Can't wait to see what you thought about the YC and BC.

G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!

Aww Lisa!! You have got to watch Frozen.. At least once!! Just " let it go" and watch it already ;))
We love it!!

2 updates in one day? I'm impressed. I squeezed in an update this evening myself.. :))

I don't think I'd be fond of the school bread. I don't know why... Just not my kind of snack.

Are you booking tomorrow?

I know! I really should watch it even if just to say that I did.

Yep, two updates in one day. That hasn't happened in a while.

If the bread/roll part of the school bread had been yeastier, I may have liked it more. It was too plain.

Heck yeah, I booked! :cool1:

Hi, Lisa! :wave2: I have been reading along but I am guilty of not leaving comments as often as I should. I will try and speak up more.

It's okay! I do that a lot myself. Or read and then forget to post.

Nice call to escape into Mexico during the rain. Was this Memorial Day? We were stuck in France! Worst part was is we didn't even want a snack from there! :) I would have much preferred to be in Mexico!

It was on Memorial Day! Mexico wasn't a bad place to hang out during the storm. At least there's a ride there.

We enjoyed that little Frozen museum...but LOL over the bathroom!!

Wasn't that crazy? The church doesn't even look like a bathroom to me.

Sorry the school bread was a disappointment. This might be one of those things that gets overhyped and then expectations just can't live up to it. I find myself feeling that way about several popular Disney foods. BUT that being said I am a school bread fan. My preference is to take it to go for breakfast in the morning. Perfect amount of sweetness for that....but as a dessert...not so much.

I'm now wondering if I missed something with the school bread. Maybe they use a different recipe now?

I love the fact that there's always something new to try in Disney too! I love putting together new food lists.

School bread is a love it or hate it treat I think. It's totally okay that you didn't love it. :goodvibes I myself absolutely love it, but it can be ruined if it's not fresh.

Some of my friends and family will say "haven't you seen everything in Disney World" and I always tell them no. I'm not telling a fib either. There's always something new to us.

Maybe if the school bread had been warmed it might have been better. It was just kinda there on the plate.

A lurker popping up with an opinion on school bread. ;)

I fell in love with it so much that I have tried to find a bakery in Oregon that makes it. No such luck. But, unlike yours, mine was freshly made, slightly warm, and heavenly! Of course I am one of those fools who can only take so much sugar at a time. For instance, I once tried one of those Hostess Snowball things, and got sick to my stomach. So I may not be a good judge of sweets. ;)

Love your reports! Your updates always make my day.

My DH loves the School Bread. I am not a fan, but I don't really care for coconut so I didn't expect to like it. I had the Troll Horn before and enjoyed it just fine. Though I don't know that I have to rush back for it like I would for the Nutella Waffle Sandwich at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments at the Magic Kingdom!

I like coconut and had no problem with that portion of the pastry. It just wasn't as great as I thought that it would be. I have never tried the nutella waffle sandwich or the chicken one either.

For me the disboards had a big influence in me trying the infamous Dole Whip, and guess what.... I thought it was just okay:scared1:

I really like Dole Whips but I am allergic to milk so I have to limit my dairy intake. I'm not the kind who is allergic as in stomach problems. It gives me headaches and nosebleeds and there's nothing to take for it. Doesn't stop me from eating ice cream every now and then though.

The school bread does not tempt me as it looks like there is coconut on it and lets just say I am not a fan.

I don't go out of my way for anything coconut either.

:lmao: At the people who walked into the church and were looking for a bathroom! Yeah because it really looks like it could also hold a bathroom. :rotfl2:

I know and wouldn't there be a sign that said it was a bathroom? Seriously?

I am hoping to catch the Frozen display when I am down in September, unlike you my house is a tad bit obsessed with this movie. With two little girls ages 4 and 6, yeah lets just say there are many time where my kids randomly break out "Let it Go" . I am ready for Frozen craze to be over! :headache:

With little girls, I can see why your house would be overrun with Frozen!

Hoping Mama's Dr appointment goes well today.

Woo Hoo!!! for booking next year's trip!! Yay!!!!

Thank you Darla! We are still trying to figure out what's making her dizzy. ENT doctor next.

I was just itching for the rates to come out and was ready to book!

It's fantastic to come over here and read all the great news! So happy to hear everything came out clear for Mama!!!!

AND booking your next trip! So happy for you!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Isn't it great to hear good news!?! All heart tests are fine. She is waiting to get in to see an ENT to check for inner ear problems.

I'm happy too! I just with the trip was sooner.

I really like the School Bread...but I also do not get it to satisfy a sweet tooth. I like to order it to go, and have it the next morning for breakfast with a cup of coffee. :goodvibes

You should scan in a picture of "liitle boy" Hunter with the troll...a then and now glimpse! :thumbsup2

Good news on Mama, and GREAT news on booking your next trip!!! :cool1:

Maybe if the school bread had been warmed, I would have liked it better?

I need to dig out the old pictures and put them on here. He was such a sweetie pie back then. Not that he's not know but he's not a tall sweetie pie.

Mama's tests all came back fine. She's still dizzy though so they are sending her to an ENT to see if it's something to do with her inner ear.

I have to agree with you, the school bread is just okay. My husband loves it, but to me, without the filling, the dough is too dry. And when you're in Disney, there's so many tastier treats to get; no use settling for something that's not gonna knock your socks off.
But hey! You tried something new. That's the key.

Yay, a DISmeet. Those are always fun, especially the unexpected ones!

I'm thinking that I just built the school bread up in my mind until it couldn't have been as good as I was hoping. Maybe that's it? The dough/roll was dry. It didn't have much fluffy to it either.

It was a fun meet even if it were short.

We'll be at CBR the same time! We arrive 44 days from today!

Lisa, I hope your mama's test goes alright today. Sending good vibes!

Thank you! Tests all came out great. Still dizzy though?

Let's see, your update, love the troll pics. I'd love to see a picture of Hunter with the troll when he was 1! My kids are afraid of it. :sad2:

Neither of my kids have been afraid of the characters or big things like an ugly troll. Kinda makes me wonder if it's because they aren't afraid of some our "offbeat" family members. :lmao::lmao:

The School Bread LOOKS good, and I love coconut, but if it's not very sweet, I probably wouldn't care for it. I like my bakery to be sweet.

It was not sweet at all. Even the cream in the middle wasn't very sweet.

As for Frozen, while it's a great movie and I love it, it's certainly not my favorite, and I don't get why all the hype over this one either. Princess and the Frog, Tangled, and Brave were all equally as good as Frozen, but didn't get the same hype. I honestly don't know what it is about this one.

I loved all of the movies that you listed too! I guess I'll get around to watching it sometime.

Good grief it took me FOREVER to get caught back up today  Had a specialist appointment in Toronto yesterday and it involves an entire day's commute for a 15 minute check-up :scared1: The highway is ripped up right now and John refuses to sit in traffic followed by at least 1 hr on city transit so we spend $30-ish to use the Provincial transit system. We do consider ourselves lucky that we live close enough to have access to the centre though -- it one of only 10 in the entire CONTINENT!!!

Goodness! That's a whole lotta traveling for just a 15 minute check-up! Hope that it had good results.

I hear you on the "impromptu consults" that you're supposed to be able to handle! John works with computers doing everything from teaching to writing data-bases. His family will call with questions like "can you tell me how to use my e-mail system??" "which file should i delete to make my system run faster??" :confused3 SERIOUSLY??

Hey, I gotta computer question maybe your husband can answer! No, I'm just kiddin'! :lmao:

I have told my niece several times that I don't work with contract questions. I work for a family law attorney!

Oh and a "pre-trip report" ?? You have no idea what you could be getting into!! I have been accused of having verbal diarrhea :rolleyes1

Like verbal diarrhea would keep me away? Look at who you're talking to....Mrs. Chatterbox herself.

"What’d we think? I hate to say it but both were just okay. Not out of this world delicious and not bad. Quite honestly, the school bread didn’t have much flavor to it."

I agree with you about the school bread but I'm glad I tried it.
Really enjoying your story!

I'm glad that I tried it and it's off my list. On to more new things now!

Congrats on booking the trip, and thanks for the update on your mother. It could be an inner ear thing...I've had that before.

I'm so happy to have the trip booked. Not like I didn't think that I would but it's nice to have it done. Now, we're working on getting Lacey and Jesse booked and within their budget.

I'm hoping that it's just inner ear. She's waiting to get in to see the specialist. Have fun in Vegas baby!

Me too!

Yep, 2 weeks again! John said that this was his favorite trip because we had time to stop and smell the roses so to speak. I've got to really start saving in order to pay it off but I can do it.

The price difference for next trip (if I didn't factor in the two free nights that Disney gave us) was less than $200.00 from 2014 and 2015. I didn't think that was bad at all.
