Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Yay for a great MK day! I love Philharmagic too! It is by far my favorite 3D show. I had heard rumors that they were thinking about changing it and updating it with new songs, including songs from Frozen. I REALLY hope that they leave it alone and don't mess with it. It would upset me so much. Tangled and Frozen are so cute but I don't think they need to mess with the classics. Watching Philharmagic takes me back to my childhood.

Oh no! I would be heartbroken. I liked Frozen - don't get me wrong - but I really hope it doesn't totally take over every attraction and park. Maelstrom is enough!! :sad2:

Is the Maelstrom changeover a "done deal"? Or is it still just a rumor?

I don't think it would be so bad if Philharmagic had a little update, adding a song from Frozen. Maybe blow icy cold air on us? or snowflakes falling from the ceiling? :lmao:

Girl, the traffic here in Mobile is like that EVERYDAY going through the tunnel  :furious:. You were actually lucky because if it had been a wreck traffic would have been backed up all the way to the I-65 junction.

They are talking about building a second bridge over the Bay to try and bypass all the congestion in the tunnel, but they are saying it will takes years and that is if they get the federal funding now.

I guess the traffic is the price we pay for living so close to the beach!?!?:headache:

Haha! I was going to post something similar. We live in Mobile too. My DH worked at the fire station downtown and went on many wrecks in the tunnel. He just got promoted and is at different station now....thank goodness. At certain times, we won't go on the Bayway, we take the Causeway. I just have a fear of being stuck on that bridge.

OP, I am late to the party, but have really enjoyed your TR :goodvibes

Is the Maelstrom changeover a "done deal"? Or is it still just a rumor?

I'm not 100% positive but it seems that way. I have seen quite a few people post 9/28 as the official closure date for now. Ugh!

I don't think it would be so bad if Philharmagic had a little update, adding a song from Frozen. Maybe blow icy cold air on us? or snowflakes falling from the ceiling? :lmao:

Idk, maybe it's just me but Philharmagic to me is about classics. I know so many people are crazy for Frozen but it's only been out a year and I'm not really up for them altering everything - pavilions, parades, attractions - just to accommodate one more that hasn't been around nearly as long as the others. If I hear "Let It Go" one more time I'm going to stab my eardrums haha!

Once again life got in teh way of my "dis-ing" time and i'm behind in your travels!! Just had to add one thing, It will always and forever be the "Wedway People-Mover" to me! I now have stuck in my head the conversation "Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr.TOM Morrow!" and something about giving his party on Saturn a "ring"!! Must admit i never truly noticed the signs in the cars and now i will have trouble remaining in my seat and NOT DANCING!!

Thanks for the fun journey through the parks, made me push the pictures under John's nose so he would agree to lunch at BOG!!

caught up! :dance3:

I still have not tried BOG for lunch yet. I had thought about it for our March trip but it just wouldn't fit in my plans, but I did eat dinner there twice that trip. I LOVE the cupcakes!
Claire loves small world, but I still find it weird entering that way now too.
Claire is also a big fan of Laugh Floor. She would do it over and over if I let her. :lmao:
I had my first stay at CBR last weekend....as you know....and I was much more impressed with it than I thought I would be. I had building 45 and it was so close to the bridge and my walks to the food court were nice and short. I was so amazed at how easy it was.

I love Roz too! She cracks me up!!!! :rotfl2:

I had no idea they actually considered a deodorant smell effect. That's interesting. :confused3:rotfl:

My older son asked to go to Disney the first week of June next summer and I'm throwing it around. I really don't do well with the mega heat. I would say most of my summer trips have been tolerable, but I remember one June where I seriously thought I might die from heat stroke. :faint:

Love me some People Mover!

Great castle pictures! :thumbsup2

All caught up again, but I was so far behind that I don't remember what I wanted to comment on. :rotfl2:
Loving the read, though. Hoping your family is well and that you are not roasting through your summer.

You should rent points for BWV or BCV one time. Sometimes it is cheaper than a regular room.
You should call the merchandise phone number and order the spoon.
Love the Goofy under the seas.
The meals look good at Coral Reef. Love that place.
The buses look like the crosstown buses here.
Yes the pic was a selfie.
The turkey leg rice krispy treat looked good. Never seen one before.
Nice pics of the bears.
Must try BOG for lunch.
Nice pics on IASW. That is my ringtone on my phone. LOL.
Looks like a fun day at MK.
All caught up again.

Hello!! Loving your trip report!! I'm usually a lurker but just wanted to pop in and say hello!! Your family always has me in stitches...love your ability to find the humor in anything!! Thanks for sharing the laughs with us! :thumbsup2

We haven't went in to see Philharmagic in a while, going to have to do it again this time. It is always nice to head into the shows with A/C on those hot, hot days. TTA is one of the rides I remember best from my first trip in 1986 and is still one of my favorites.

Seriously? Dana? Girl, you gotta go see Philarmagic! Oh yeah, the TTA has been a favorite from the beginning.

Doesn't it seem like the bus stop is always WAAAAYYYYY down toward the end? I know we are never near the front no matter which resort we are in. Our bus stops at EPCOT always seems to be all the way around in the last section.

It does when it's hot and you are tired. Thankfully, we were only hot...not tired.

I am hoping Olivia's is good. In all my trips to Disney I have never even been over to OKW. We go by the entrance when we go to SSR, but haven't gone in. Amanda and Matt stayed there last year after their cruise.

It's goooood! We loved it and awnt to go back again.

Fun update!

Mickey's Philharmagic is one of our faves too. Wow everyone did as they were told! Isn't it sad how rarely that happens?

Too bad that man at the Laugh Floor wasn't a good sport.

Yep, I was surprised that everybody followed the rules!

I don't know why in the world the guy was such a booty in the Laugh Floor. It kinda spoiled it for everybody.

Ah, I love Philharmagic! Hmmm did I spell that wrong or is it telling me it's not a word? :confused3 Donald, the music, all of the different characters and the apple pie smell...what's not to love. I often wonder just how many people don't turn around at the end to see Donald's end. :goodvibes

You spelled it right. I think spellcheck just doesn't like it. I always watch to see if people will turn around and see Donald stuck in the back of the theater too.

DH informed me that he has never been on the People Mover. He does not go to Disney as much as the rest of us do but, I can't figure out how he missed it. We're going to fix that in December. Too bad that your lit up Space Mountain pictures did not load. It really is very cool looking all lit up!

Ummm, never been on the People Mover? Well, you certainly have to fix that when you are there.

I don't know what it is with people trying to get into fastpass lines with no fastpass. Idiots. :rolleyes2 BTW...John's score would beat mine any day. Every time we go on Buzz I think there is something wrong with my gun. I have now come to the conclusion that I just stink at Buzz Lightyear. It can't be working wrong every single time I play can it? :rotfl:

I am usually very bad at any sort of video game. I lasted a whole 2 seconds on guitar hero. :rotfl2:

I wonder when all that hub construction is supposed to be done. They've been working on it for a while now.

I have no idea. I know that I read a projected completion date but I forgot. Now, you've got me wondering.

Fun Update! Your MK day was our AK day. Crowds weren't too bad at AK, but it was hot, hot hot. We headed to DTD for dinner, too! I love seeing how our schedules overlapped. We love the Peoplemover, too. We rode it once a few trips back when the lights were on in Space Mountain, and saw how CLOSE the tracks are  Now Ian (6'3") is scared to go on it. He still does ("cuz that's what a real man would do"), but he hunches down and tries to curl up in the tiny little seat. I say just don't ride it, but he refuses to give into his fear (even tho he's afraid it will take off his head). Teenagers!

I still hate that we didn't cross paths even though we were there at the same time. I ran into a lot of Disers while on the trip.

Oh poor Ian! Scared but still wants to ride. Way to tough it out!

Great updates, Lisa.

Love Mickey's Philharmagic; so sad as I just found out it is closed while we are there next month. :(

Buzz...nice score; I've only beaten Mark once on that ride.

I hate when people don't participate and ruin a show for the others. Seriously, Grumpy should have stayed home!

You take pictures? I never would have guessed. :rotfl::rotfl:

Can't wait to see where dinner is.

I don't understand why some people feel the need to act like that when they know that it effects the whole show. All he had to do was answer a stupid question.

I hope to get an update posted tomorrow. Today has been busy!

Love Philharmonic! It just screams Disney!

I love some Roz too! I tell the kids all the time- " I'm watching... Always watching..." ;))) lol!!

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the new rooms.. I love the bright, cheery, open look! But maybe it'll grow on me too!

Of course as a Mama, you're watching....always watching. I'm sure that it would add a little extra "you be good" oomph if you say it like Roz. :rotfl:

I've been reading a lot of posts about the new rooms from people who have stayed there and it's an overwhelming "love them".

Wonderful updates. We pretty much do like y'all do. We duck into all the inside shows during the heat of the day. We did the Tiki Birds for the first time and my DH and my oldest was like don't think we will ever do that again. I told them when it's hot and you need air it will be your favorite.

Like you said, when it's hot and sticky, air conditioning will certainly beat out "I don't like Tiki birds". ;)

I love Monsters Inc. I didn't have high expectations for it but I thought it was great.

Can't wait to hear more.

We love The Laugh Floor! John laughs every single time.

:headache: They are the same people pushing the carts in front of me at Costco.

Or Walmart or Target or....well...you get the idea.

:eek::eek:

Quick, buy a lottery ticket!

:rotfl2:

Never heard that before, but it's too funny! :rotfl2::rotfl:

I believe that it was Jim Hill who said it.

Excuses, excuses!

And that's all that matters.

He just wants to stay on her good side. She's watching, always watching...

John loves him some Roz.

Come on, dude. How do you get through life with no sense of humor?

I know! He messed up the whole vibe of the show.

Hi there! It's me, from the June 2015 discounts thread!!

It took me from about 10am today, but I've read EVERY PAGE! I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment. You are absolutely hilarious and your family looks like you all have so much fun together. Maybe we'll run into each other next trip!

Welcome!!!!!! So glad to have you here! You were gettin' busy with the reading. We do like to have fun together and there's no better place to do it than at Disney.

I've read some of those rumors too. I wouldn't mind it if they added something to it but I like every part of it and would hate to see anything go.

Isn't TTA awesome when Space Mountain is shut down?! I've been on it one other time when that happened and it was so awesome looking at the ride. With that said it makes you realize how awesome the ride is in the dark with the mood set. If Space Mountain was an outside ride it would just look like a simple cat and mouse coaster. Those imagineers are some smart guys!

This wasn't the first time that we've seen Space Mountain all it up but it's still very neat to see.

That comment about Roz was too funny! Don't let it get you down...you seem much more pleasant than Roz. I used to work with an art teacher that talked (and oddly looked) just like her. She was SO annoying! Alas, she retired. Tell John he is most certainly not missing out on the real thing...UGH!

Can't wait to see where you eat!

I sure hope that I'm more pleasant than Roz! :lmao:

Way to beat the afternoon heat!

Those Fantastyland crowds are the worst! It seems like there should be a lot of space, but that is always the hardest place to maneuver around people.

The crowds seem especially bad around It's A Small World, Peter Pan and the new bathroom area.

Philharmagic is such a great show. Wished my boys liked it more. :sad2:

They should be made to suffer through it for Mama's sake.;)

Bummer on Space being down, but it's good that the fast pass was valid anywhere. Do you know if you could have used it on the Mine Train?

Unfortunately, the mine train wasn't up and running yet.

That is a fantastic picture of Hunter on Buzz.

It did turn out pretty good.

I almost forgot to ride the Peoplemover last week! :scared1: Phew!

Astrorbitor is under construction now. I don't ride it but it is such a pretty ride to watch. The construction area in the front of the castle is kind of ugly from the TTA.

It's been many years since we've gone on the Astro Orbitor. It's such a tight squeeze to get in the rockets. I know that construction is a necessary evil but it sure does mess up otherwise pretty pictures.

But your pictures of the castle on the way out are spectacular!!!

Thank you!

I also love the pictures of you guys at the bus stop.

:thumbsup2

Thanks Dee!

All caught up. My comments maybe out of order but I caught up last night.

:cool1:

I can not wait to eat those cupcakes at Be Our Guest.

John's not a cupcake fan but even he liked the Be Our Guest cupcakes so that's saying something.

It's amazing that they actually went all the way to the end.

We have never done the laugh floor but are looking forward to trying it out this year.

The Laugh Floor is pretty funny especially when there's no jerk who won't cooperate.

That turtle cheesecake was adorable! I think I will be getting that. :)

Looking forward to more updates.

The turtle cheesecake was delicious and cute!

Haha! I was going to post something similar. We live in Mobile too. My DH worked at the fire station downtown and went on many wrecks in the tunnel. OP, I am late to the party, but have really enjoyed your TR :goodvibes

Welcome! It's so good to have you here. Oh my gosh, I don't see how you and racefanof88 deal with that traffic all the time. Fortunately for us, we usually travel through at night but this time we left a lot earlier and we hit traffic.

Oh no! I would be heartbroken. I liked Frozen - don't get me wrong - but I really hope it doesn't totally take over every attraction and park. Maelstrom is enough!! :sad2:

I agree with both of you. I don't mind some changes and/or additions but some of the classics need to be left alone. As I said quite some time ago, I have yet to see Frozen but I don't really get all of the hype over one movie.

Once again life got in teh way of my "dis-ing" time and i'm behind in your travels!! Just had to add one thing, It will always and forever be the "Wedway People-Mover" to me! I understand the whole "life" thing. I spent a lot of time trying to get caught up too.

Mr. Morrow...Mr. Tom Morrow? Love it!

Yep, put those pictures of Be Our Guest out there for John to see. We enjoyed our meal there.

caught up! :dance3:

I still have not tried BOG for lunch yet. I had thought about it for our March trip but it just wouldn't fit in my plans, but I did eat dinner there twice that trip. I LOVE the cupcakes!

The only thing that I didn't like about the cupcakes is not being able to remove the holder/wrapper thing.

Claire loves small world, but I still find it weird entering that way now too.

I like it 'cause it's a classic.

Claire is also a big fan of Laugh Floor. She would do it over and over if I let her. :lmao:

I'm with Claire on that one.

I had my first stay at CBR last weekend....as you know....and I was much more impressed with it than I thought I would be. I had building 45 and it was so close to the bridge and my walks to the food court were nice and short. I was so amazed at how easy it was.

It really looks much larger when you look at the map. But, it's easy to navigate.

I love Roz too! She cracks me up!!!! :rotfl2:

I had no idea they actually considered a deodorant smell effect. That's interesting. :confused3:rotfl:

I believe that Jim Hill is the one who wrote the article.

Ooooh first week of June, 2015? We'll be there then! Go for it!

Love me some People Mover!

Great castle pictures! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

All caught up again, but I was so far behind that I don't remember what I wanted to comment on. :rotfl2:
Loving the read, though. Hoping your family is well and that you are not roasting through your summer.

You sound like me...I get behind, catch up and then try to remember what I want to say. By the way, I promptly forget what it was. :rotfl2: We haven't been roasting too very much. We have had a couple of days that it was pretty hot (of course, it was the two days that we were working out in the broad open on two 100+ years old ten foot tall doors.

You should rent points for BWV or BCV one time. Sometimes it is cheaper than a regular room.

I'm such a chicken and am scared to rent points. What if I have to cancel and lose my money? If you ever have extra points you want to rent, let me know though.

I actually thought about sending money to one of my Dis friends and ask them to look for the spoon for me.

Our bus sytem here is for the yucky people to ride. I know that sounds bad but it's true. I'd be afraid to ride them even if they were slinky buses.

Hello!! Loving your trip report!! I'm usually a lurker but just wanted to pop in and say hello!! Your family always has me in stitches...love your ability to find the humor in anything!! Thanks for sharing the laughs with us! :thumbsup2

Kimmy! It's so good to see you! I forgot to look at your ticker to see if you have a report going. I wanna see how big that cute son of your's has gotten.

Hey ya'll! I hope that everybody had a great long weekend. We worked our darn tales off but that's to be expected and is what typically happens around our house anyway.

If we are friends on Facebook, you may have seen one of my posts that I deleted shortly thereafter because of nosey roseys...John was laid off, without any kind of notice, I might add, for what they said was supposed to be two weeks. Today is the two week mark and there's still no word on when he is to return to work. Maybe next week, maybe two more weeks, "we're not sure".

Filing for unemployment benefits is a pain in the backside to say the least. We filed that same week online and are now playing the waiting game to see how little he will receive and when he will receive it. The weekly amount could be anywhere from $10 to $247 which is the minimum and the maximum that he could draw no matter what he normally made per week. As to when he may receive the measly amount is anyone's guess. We have tried over and over again to talk to a live person but have been hung up on, disconnected, the lines are too busy, etc. We not only have questions regarding when and how much he will receive but there's a clause in the paperwork that says he doesn't have to actively seek other employment if it is a short term layoff but there are exceptions. Soooooo.....what are the exceptions? Again, anybody's guess.

Annnnnyway, it's been a stressful two weeks which isn't good for someone who has epilepsy. Oh and the doctor's changed up the way that he takes his medication last week. Yeah, fun exciting times! NOT!

Not looking for any sympathy or anything, just wanted ya'll to know why I have been absent from the Dis for a while and haven't posted much on this report or on my subscribed threads. I think that I'm caught up on my subscriptions and hope to get an installment posted soon. Maybe even tomorrow.

I'm so sorry Lisa! That really sucks. I can certainly sympathize about the unemployment mess since I dealt with it last year. Impossible to talk to someone, takes forever and you get almost nothing in actual money anyway. :sad2: I hope he is back to work very soon so you guys can stop stressing out.
