Just reserved for May 12. Probably would not have done it at $150 but had to do it at $75. For me it's all about taking photos that night in a almost empty park. Plus free ice cream!!!!

Why would anyone pay retail, now?
Id offer them Olive Garden gift cards and "magic" beans for some tickets.
I'm willing to pay $150 for this event, and since I just planned a trip for September to visit Epcot only, if this event is being offered me and dh just may purchase tickets for it.
So, to answer your question, we definitely would pay retail.
I'm sure you probably know this and just mistyped but the event on May 8th is Sunday night not Saturday-just wanted to make sure your plans didn't get out of wack if you had gotten the days confusedThanks. That is what I was thinking. I have tickets for next Saturday, 5/8. I'm going to call in the morning to see if I can get a refund. They did for Club Villain so hopefully they will for this too. We'll see I guess.
I'd consider at least thinking about going at that price, if I even had an AP. My thought was this is not selling out as quickly as Disney hoped, so instead of firing people and canceling the event (bad publicity), they're doing what they can to fill it up.
Well, since they have extended the event past the original dates into June, I don't think this is the case. I think they adjusted the AP cost to not penalize them for having an AP. Technically, an AP holder has already paid for the first three hours of these events; charging them full price would cause them to double pay for the hours when the park is already open. To me, this adjustment just makes sense. (It would be different if you had to have a park ticket in addition to the event, but you don't.)
Yep, know that. You are right. I did mean Sunday May 8th. Thanks. Wonder if an AP holder can buy at the good rate for the whole party?
Then why don't they offer larger discounts to AP holders for the Halloween and Christmas parties?
Supply and demand. Much higher demand for those parties. Look how many sold out last year earlier than expected.
I think Disney is realizing $149 prices out too many people.
Lots of locals go to those parties even if they don't have AP. $149 isn't going to entice locals without AP.
I agree with that. They are doing what they have to in order to move the tickets. I just don't think it's out of some sort of obligation or sense of fairness to AP holders.
Not an AP holder, but I think you're on to something! DIS meet at the next DAH - all we need is one AP holder to invite up to 3000 (?) of us!Are you thinking of inviting all of your DIS friends?![]()
Where do you see it extended into June? Tha last date I can find is Thursday May 19th. I'm not trying to be a stickler for details pain in the behind, but the night I want is thursday May 26 (which is the story of my life, day late dollar short) so I would love to see it extended into June.Well, since they have extended the event past the original dates into June, I don't think this is the case.
