hi mandy i booked everything seperate and the cruise i booked through a US travel agent called dreams unlimited, doing my research they came highly recommended, you can pay online using US dollars or over the phone and you can manage all of your booking online too

they sponsor the cruise section on this forum

Hi Mandy
With a Disney cruise the price you pay should be the same wherever you buy it from. Gone are the days where they all offer better prices etc, now you might get onboard credits to spend. Our 1st 4 we booked direct from Disney, the offers elsewhere were not worth having and I liked to be able to book all online with their very easy site.
The latest one I have booked I have gone thru Dreams Unlimited because they are giving double stateroom credits($100) for the cruise we want.
We usually book everything seperate unless VirginHolidays have any deals on, like next Xmas I have booked package as it was cheaper than flight only.

Hi there

We looked at booking via Virgin, but found the price direct with Disney was a lot cheaper, mainly due to the dollar rate at the moment. We probably saved a few hundred pounds. However, as we are doing WDW for a few days, it was cheaper to get the flights and accommodation through Virgin, so we booked them separately and with the money we saved, went for a better hotel! Also with Virign, the car was part of the deal. The flights are no cheaper to do them yourself and we wanted a plane with four engines!!!!

I believe however, if we had booked the cruise through one of the American Agencies, we could have got on board credit, but it was only around £50. You need to make sure you use a reputable company though and your money is protected. It was extremely easy to book direct with Disney and I felt comfortable with that in the end.

Best of luck.

Very very rarely is a car with Virgin worth taking, they say it is free but then charge you about £20/day for insurance. For Eg our trip this August 24 nights car with Virgin was over £800 compared to Airnet under £500 inclu rental and platinum Insurance.
Some people like to take it from Virgin for the convenience but its usaully at a premium.

would agree with wayneg, [you never get anything for free]we booked our car full size for 3 weeks with Gold insurance [only 1 driver so no point going platinum] for £365

Hi there,

Our last 2 WDW vacations have included a cruise, and we have booked to go on the DCL Western in the upcoming Oct. I have used dreamsunlimited for all my bookings and respond quickly to all requests and a another good site is https://commerce29.pair.com/sueyblah/dcl.html which takes you to small world vacations who offer competative rates. You can get good rates on Expedia.COM although it's easier to get a specific room via the smalller travel agents. The rates are great just know.

Robert, even if you only have 1 driver always check the cost to upgrade to platinum. Sometimes they have offers on. Our last trip to Vegas cost £8 to add platinum on our 4x4. For the £8 not only did I get additional driver but a tank of gas worth $60.:)
Usually shorter trips make platinum great value with the free tank of gas but also consider the cost for longer trips, for us I add DW even though she has never driven over there. A 3 week holiday should add £42ish. Knock off the tank off gas and you are paying around £10-£12 for the additional driver, peanuts compared to having to add her if I was not able to drive for any reason, also it would be hassle to add her.
If you have no other driver in your party then maybe not worth it but I feel for £10 its worth going platinum even though I do all the driving.

You are probably quite right, but to be honest, I couldn't be bothered looking around for the right prices and because we are staying in a Disney Hotel, (Beach Club), we have got a really good car too.

We always go for the Platinum Insurance, especially in the States, where it could become extremely expensive. DH has been 'done' there before!

Not long to go now!!
