Disney Cruise Weddings

I am getting married on the December 9, 2006 Magic. I have been working with Cathy from DFTW and she has been very helpful. You book it as an add on package. I first called and made sure my date was available and then booked the cruise. It's $1,900 if you marry on the ship and $2900 on CC. We are getting married on the ship on Thursday, the day at sea. I didn't want to use up a day at cc, even though we will be doing the double dip cruise. Once you book the date with Cathy she will email you all the options. There hasn't been much posted on the cruise weddings, some here and there. Good luck with the planning, if you have any specific questions I can try to answer what I know!

Hi Nicole- I am getting married September 30th on CC. I actually just got home this a.m. from my first ever Disney cruise, and let me tell ya, CC is BEAUTIFUL. I see that your from Ocala, I grew up in Ocala. I live just outside of Orlando now. Page me if you need/want/have any info.

We are renewing our vows on the 11-11-06 cruise. Do you know when the dead line is for returning the planning kit? I have it filled out but I am waiting on a friend in the Air Force to get his orders so I can't submit his cruise info till he knows where he is beeing sent to.

spotdude, is the vow renewal the same cost as the wedding? Will you share what you're doing? We've been thinking about it, too. TIA

It is $1000 I think that is cheaper than a Wedding, but we are not doing on Casta Way Cay we are doing it on deck 7 aft. We didn't want to waist a day at Casta way Cay. I was talked in to it by my family I wanted a vow renewal in the park, but as we are planning it I am glad they did talk me in to it.
I will be more than happy to share what is going on. So far I have filled out my Planning Kit. Picked or flowers, cake flavor and filling, and selected our songs. The only real problem I have is the web site has prices on photography packages and the planning kit has different information. I have e-mailed Cathy about these differences and as of yet have not gotten a response, But I am sure she is very busy and we are still 8 months away.
The First thing we did was when we were on the Cruise in Nov. We asked the bartender at the Cadillac Lounge what he real deal was. We had a real hard time finding anyone on board who could give us any info. But he was extremely helpful. If you are planning a cruise before defiantly go this route. I have found that the people who actually do it are les likely to try and sell it to you and give you better and more correct information.

Thanks for the info. We were on Magic 2 weeks ago. $1000 isn't too bad, I'll have to check into it. My DH could do the cake himself but guess we can't take it on the plane, LOL (maybe they'll let him use the galley - NOT). :rotfl: Deck 7 Aft - aka Secret Deck - sounds like a great location! Hope to hear more about it as you continue your planning. :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing your plans, everyone. My husband and I will probably renew our vows on a Disney cruise in the near future, so it's great being able to read about what other folks are planning.

We renewed our vows on the Magic during the 10 night holiday cruise in December of 2004. We wanted it on the 7th deck but were told that it wasn't an option. Had to have it in Sessions (Cadillac Lounge on Wonder). Also, we were unable to pick the date - it's completely up to the Captain we were told. Ours was at 4:00 on the last sea day. I wasn't thrilled with having it inside, but it turned out beautiful. We met with concierage soon after boarding and she helped set up any excursions, spa appts., etc. Then we met with her the next day to finalize flowers, cake, music choices and photos. She "surprised" us every day with some sort of treat in our room. (We did not have concierage except through the vow renewal package, but were treated to all the concierage pluses.) If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me and I'll try to answer.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we're very happy that we did it.

Congratulations to all of you!! The two DCL I've been on I saw Brides and grooms and could't help but think :rolleyes1 "Having the Honeymoon before the Wedding" LOL

How hard is it to plan this type of wedding. I want it to be a family gathing/ wedding. there will be a lot of people (80) my parents said they would rather hand me the money to pay for all for a whole week then a five hour event home here on Long Island. (LI is a very pricey place to get married) and i wanted to do this Feb. 2010 and i want to book now and i have soooo many questions i just don't know what to do, and the Wedding planner for disney won't even get on the phone with me until 18 months prior to the date are there any tips, advise or help you guys can give? Anything would be awesome!!:bride:
