Has anyone else had problems getting into the reservation and rates pages of the disney cruise website?

I have been trying to put together a couple of itineraries since Wednesday with no luck. Tried everyday on 2 different computers. Am I the only one with this problem???

 I had the same problem on Thur. but I was hoping that since the had said that you would be able to get a quote for 2004 in May that maybe they were just updating their prices etc. Hopefully that will be what the problem is. I dying to get our next cruise booked so I can start counting the days( a bunch!!).

I have found it is not compatible any more with my AOL. I need to minimize AOL then open Internet Explorer to view the reservations area of the site.

I haven't noticed any problems recently with DCL and I've checked several times since the original post.

I think I've 'preached' this several times before, but I really believe that if you don't use your ISP's 'explorer shell', you will have much better results using DCL's quote system as well as using other websites.

The ISPs have made things easier for novice users by creating 'explorer shells' that allow you to browse the Internet without leaving their 'home view'. Many times, their 'shell explorers' add overhead to the web surfing experience. This overhead can be the reason you can't use a particular site. It can be from any ISP that uses a shell, such as AOL, Compuserve, MSN, and probably others I haven't seen firsthand.

Once your Internet connection is established, you can minimize your ISP shell and start up Internet Explorer as a separate Window, or application. There are additional benefits to using this method because you can have multiple instances of IE open at the same time. For instance, you can have one IE window for the DCL Quotes system, another IE window for the Dis Boards, another for the Port Canaveral Web Cam (when it works), and another IE window for your online bank or credit card balance, etc etc.

One word of caution if you use this method, any Parental Controls that are set up in your ISP shell will not be in effect with your native IE winodws. There are separate Parental Controls that can be set up in Internet Explorer itself, but they control all usage of IE, they aren't user specific.

hope that helps

I seem to have the opposite problem as Carol. I cant get to it using Internet Explorer. I have to have DH do his thing and he calls into his work and gets me on there through their system. Very strange!

I am using IE on 2 different computers which previously were able to get through to DCL quotes no problems. I am not using AOL or any other "front" for IE. As of the middle of the week everything was ok...then nothing

:D Just tried the website and was able to go completely throught the "get a quote" part all the way to reserving it. Haven't tried through Castaway Club but couldn't get through there the other night either, just kept getting a message about having trouble and call DCL. There are still no dates for 2004 yet. So guess I'll have to wait awhile longer.

I forgot to mention that about the Castaway Club entry point. It's relatively new from DCL and I can't find any advantage to using it at all.

I had problems using it in the past and I just don't use it all anymore. The only benefit of using it that I can find is that it will add your CC number to the Reservation. If you decide to complete a booking online through DCL, you could always call in with your number later.

hope that helps
