Disney cruise transportation from resort

Hi
will be lodging at Al star music resort prior to cruise do dcl buses pick at those resorts ?
what time do they usually come and pick you up ?
do I bring my luggage on the bus ?
do I l eave it at the resort so they ll pick them up and they’ll bring them to the boat
I usualy take dcl buses from airport but will be in wdw 3 days ahead so not sure how it works

Pick up times at the resorts vary from cruise to cruise. The schedule isn't set until, basically, the night before (maybe 2 days before) so they have a accurate list as to how many people need to be picked up and at what resorts. The busses typically pick up from 3 resorts before heading to the port.

You will receive an instructional letter in your room the night before telling you what time to have your bags packed and ready for pickup (inside your room). At least that's how I've always done it. You can bring a small carry on bag inside the bus. It will also include what time you need to be at the pickup location at the resort.

We did this from Grand Floridian last month. In addition to the letter you will receive with instructions on when to set your bags out for pick up, there was also a DCL representative in the lobby (or designated) location who you check in with. We met ours in the lobby and then she escorted the group to the bus. Looks like maybe they have one for each resort based on reservations.

But what time was the pick up ?

It used to be quite late befor pick up way back lik you’d get to port late around 1-130 pm
I am waving all my options would l like to be there around 1145 -12 which is my port arrival time

You have no power/choice in getting picked up time.

Actual pick up times vary from cruise to cruise. Depends on how many people from which resorts. They fill the busses as much as they can before heading out.

Since the restart, DCL transfers from WDW resorts have typically picked up in the mid-morning. Maybe around 8:30-10am, give or take.

We were the only family at Art of Animation for our 12/2 cruise. Bags had to be tagged and ready to be picked up inside the door by 7am. We met the DCL rep at 900 and waited for the bus only a few minutes.

Buses tend to be earlier right now. 8AM - 10AM is probably a good window to be prepared for.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but, I've been told PAT doesn't really matter when you're arriving by Disney transportation. Is this true?

Yes, as far as entering the terminal (meaning PAT is sort of moot) But you still have the same boarding number, I believe.

When arriving from a resort (WDW or Hyatt MCO), that is correct. You probably won’t even select a PAT, and will automatically be assigned a low boarding group.

When arriving at the port on DCL transfers from the MCO airport, you will need to select s PAT. I believe you’ll enter the port terminal on arrival but as PP states you’ll have to wait for your boarding group (which is tied to PAT). Later PAT = higher (later) boarding group.

I know it may vary by cruise, but what time did you get to the port from the Grand Floridian?

For the past year they've been picking up resort guests early, so you're probably fine in that regard.
