Has anyone stayed at the Poly Tower the night before a cruise? I was wondering if Disney Bus Transportation will pick up luggage from your room or if you have to bring it to the Ceremonial House? Any other info on how this works would be appreciated.

Yes! We just did this in March. They told us to put it by the door by 7am. We went to breakfast and when we came back it was gone. Super easy!

If you're interested, I wrote about it in my current trip report here...

We are actually doing this this August. Very excited! We have a rental though so I'm not sure about the Disney bus. Have a great trip!

I read your trip report-thanks. Do you also have a link to your return transportation? It's our first time using Disney and am looking for helpful info.
To be clear... they will pick up your luggage from the Tower, but you have to go to the Ceremonial House to catch the bus?

I haven't gotten to the end of the cruise in my report yet, but we took DCL transportation back to Boardwalk Villas. To be honest, it wasn't great. We were off the ship fairly early and got onto the bus and then just sat and waited for a long time (I'll have to go back and check my picture time stamps). We weren't happy and we both agreed next time book DCL transfers to the port but private transfers after.

And correct, they picked up the luggage in our tower room and we met up with the DCL group over in the main hotel lobby.

That's my least favorite thing about the transfers back to the resort. The instructions in app say to be off the ship by 745....I think we were on the bus by 8ish and sat until 9....and nobody boarded the bus after 8:10.

We're still taking them back to the resort this time because we have a kid in a 5 point. I'll just plan better and make sure we have extra bags of goldfish or something.

Ok, I just looked at my time stamps and we were on the bus at 8, pulled away from the port at 9:06 and were driving under the WDW sign at 10:22am. Sitting on the bus for a full hour was kind of annoying, I definitely don't recommend if you're going back to WDW and want to maximize your time there.

We have taken the DCL bus port to resort multiple times. In each case, the buses left the port around 9 am. Since we do main dining, we had the early breakfast, retrieved our luggage, cleared customs/immigration, and boarded the bus between 8 and 8:15 am.

Is it safe to assume that there is less waiting for buses going to MCO?

Buses to MCO depart as they fill up. Load 1st bus, it leaves; load 2nd bus, it leaves, etc.
So if we have a 12:45pm flight, there shouldn't be a problem waiting until the 2nd or 3rd bus? Just making sure we leave by 9:00-9:30am?

Without traffic, it's a minimum 45 minute drive from PC to MCO once the bus departs.

Do you have main dining or late dining? That will determine your breakfast time in debarkation morning and there is nothing else to do that morning. I'm always one who leaves plenty of cushion for the airport. You don't want to wait onboard and end up in a crunch of people trying to get through customs. I'd finish breakfast and head right off the ship. You have to vacate staterooms by 8am and DCL wants folks to be heading out by 9am, 9:30am is pushing it.

Main dining. I just thought we could finish breakfast and take our time disembarking. Maybe walk around the ship one last time instead of waiting at the airport for an extra hour. I would definitively be out by 9:00.

Expect your breakfast to be around 6:45am. There really is nothing to do and CMs are encouraging guests to debark. They have a lot of duties to get done in a short time before the next cruise can start boarding. It's probably better to just head to the airport and waste some time there.

Not to mention it will be pretty chaotic with people getting off and crew doing what they can to prep for turning the ship.

Do your walking around the ship early one morning or late one night for the best way to soak it in.
