We will be traveling before our cruise. How long before the cruise do you usually receive your packet in the mail? Will be leaving home about 3 weeks before the cruise.

Last summer, we received our DCL luggage tags about 5 weeks prior to our cruise.

Usually at least a month out. But if yours doesn’t arrive before you leave, that is not an issue. When you arrive at Port the porters can give you luggage tags then and you just write your state room number on them. Not a problem at all.

They have done away with the nice cruise booklet with the luggage tags. I was really surprised I got just a folder with luggage tags for our now cancelled April cruise. I always liked reading all the cruise info. I would alway share the emergency call number cards they provided with our family staying on land. I’d make a note of all our booked activities in there so it was all in one place. I understand they are saving money and paper but it was a nice touch which got me excited for our upcoming sailing.

Unless they've changed it (and they certainly may have), you can opt for either the full booklet or just the small folder with luggage tags.

We are booked on the May 23rd Western Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy. We got our luggage tags yesterday. I don’t remember being asked if I had a preference between a booklet or folder, but it has been so long since we made the reservation.
