Disney Cruise Line, DVC Member Mixer?

We did our first Disney Cruise last August, to Alaska, and went to the DVC Members Celebration. We're doing another Disney cruise next summer in Europe. I've been looking at the personal navigators posted so far this 'summer' and have noticed that the cruises in Alaska and Europe have had 2 gatherings for members on the boat. The DVC Members Celebration on day 1, and a DVC Member Mixer on day 5.

Has anyone been on a Disney cruise with 2 events for DVC members? What is the difference between the 2 events? I'm really wondering what happens at the Mixer as we did the other one last year.

We did 2 on our cruise. They were pretty much the same. Character greet and free alcohol and non alcohol drink. I remember the giveaways being better at the day 1.

I wanted a Copper Creek pin, and they only gave them out at the non Member events. So, I went to one of those.
