they give you a chance to exchange a few words..but if it is the Captain, he doesn't change anything..he reads the script as written..I am not sure about a Castaway wedding with the Bahamian minister

I had the captain read the ceremony as I had written it, not a script....so you can have what ever you want said.

My son was married on the Wonder on the Labor Day cruise this year. He had a Disney photographer and the pictures came out great. They had great shots, including the formal ones with Mickey and Minnie. We weren't sure what to expect after reading some of the complaints here, but it all depends on what you want. The photographer was great, taking any shots we wanted, and the pictures are priceless. I'd say take a shot and go for it.

New Disney bride, signing in for duty! We're getting married on Oct 14, 2011 on board the Oct 8th Eastern Caribbean on the Magic.

I talked to Shanda and we're just starting the process.

I'm not so worried about the wedding details, but more about the staterooms. Trying to figure out how we can pay for a few staterooms for our guests, but still have them pay for their own expenses. Anyone know if the stateroom credit card on board has to be the same one booking the room? Or can each guest put their own card for expenses?

Also, anyone have suggestions for which restaurant to request our dinner in that night? I haven't cruised on DCL before. We can't go to Palo because my son will be with us and he's only 17 at the time.

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney cruise wedding! :yay: :bride:

In response to your question about the stateroom credit card being the same one when booking, when we booked our cruise I remember the documents on line where you list your credit card, and you check off who you want to have charging privileges..so in other words, yes each guest can put their own credit card on file for charging.

Hope this helps!

We also used a Disney photographer back in 2006 and were pleased with what we got. It was a little rushed to get the formals with Mickey and Minnie but after that it was great. The only part that was not, in my opinion, up to Disney standards was the review of the photos..we were outside of shutters looking at them on a laptop that the photographer brought for us to pick and choose our photos with a ton of people around looking at other photos. We could hardly hear what he was telling us....hopefully things have changed since our vow renewal five years ago. Fill out those comment cards...they really do read them.

Thanks for the info! I think we'll end up getting a DCL photographer. I don't really have the time to research Florida photographer or watch for cabins to open in lower price brackets and/or discounts/resident rates. Reviews do seem to be more positive lately, and I suppose the worst that happens is we refuse to buy the pictures afterwords. Thanks for the heads-up on Shutters!

It's my first cruise so I can't really help you- sorry! I just wanted to say congrats on your wedding and welcome!

I have a question for past brides- were you able to attend the Sail Away party or is that during the time you meet with the wedding coordinator, have the legal ceremony, etc? TIA!

You should have plenty of time to attend the Sail Away party. My son and daughter-in-law had to meet with the coordinator at 3. They did the legal ceremony first, then had their meeting. They were back with us by in time for the life boat drill at 4. They have changed picking out the pictures process. They had the proofs, hard copies, in hand by the next night. They could take them to them cabin, or whereever, and look at them and decide what to get. Hope this helps.

^^ Thank you!!

Another question for past brides: In the DCL wedding information kit for 2011 it states that a cake service set comes with the package, but I thought I read somewhere that they stopped giving that out. Anyone know whether or not they still include it? I asked Shanda, but haven't heard back yet. I just bought the Disney Romance champagne flutes, so I need to find the matching cake service set if DCL doesn't give you one. Thanks ladies!

I believe there was a DFTW cake cutting set for us to use, however I don't think we brought one home. We did however get lots of other goodies! :thumbsup2

Here's some images from our cake cutting-

HTH!

My son and daughter-in-law had that same set at their wedding in September. They didn't use it (we had one that was my parents),but it was a gift from the cruise line so they were able to bring it home.

That is nice! We were told we had "use" of it but if we wanted to purchase, it was $50..as a DWTF bridal, I was told I could get it later...just never got around to getting it

Thanks for the photos pinkcow! I love that set!

I heard back from Shanda today, and she said that cake set does come with the package as a keepsake, but they take it after the cake ceremony and deliver in to your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. It stinks they wanted you to pay for it DisneyDmbNut.

On a side note, we added an Animal Kingdom photo session! Magic Kingdom will be from 5-6, Animal Kingdom from 6:30-7:30, and we have Kona Cafe booked at 9. I think I'm going to move the ADR back a bit later, but either way, can't beat park photos and Tonga Toast!

Hi Ladies,
I just got married on the Disney Magic November 27th sailing. I will say that it went so fast that I feel like I cant remember anything. We got married Dec. 3rd on Castaway Cay the day was perfect the ceremony was perfect and the whole day was perfect. My hair was fine, the pictures again its a hit or miss... I will say that if your going to yse the photogs from the ship you really need a detailed list this will help with the pics. We had 45 people and it was a bit chaotic...but I will say the Andreia was great on the Magic, she was our coordinator and she made it happen for us. this was the only wedding on the ship and it was the first one she has done with so many guest. Shanda had advised me that Palo was not an option, but I begged and JP the Palo manager agreed and it was way better than sessions at least thats how I felt. We did have some issues with getting everyone to meet and silly things but Andreia went out of her way and she really was a great help. I will set up some pictures so you can see how wonderful the day was and how we really enjoyed the day, I will say this Castaway is so beautiful had i know i would have probably done a two day trip instead of the cozumel and cayman island stops. be back soon with some pics.:rotfl:

Does anyone know how to post pictures I have some I would like to share with you ladies please advise thanks
