I didn't get a new one from Brie either....but i know that the fresh floral topper was on mine that i got from Cathy...and they are NOT honoring that one! So just because it's on your planning kit does not mean they will give it to you....too many changes going on.:sad2:

I am sad...I wish one of you November brides were on my Cruise, Nov. 5-8th! I would come take your pictures if you were! We were told we needed the ugly blue an red podium, the minister really did need it, he had books and papers and all.

We didn't request Mago filling, I don't rember seeing it, nope not in my packet. Hmm Weird!

Awww I wish you were too. Last year, I was loving following your PJ because I knew it would be around the same time as my VR. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Virginia,

I am glad you are on this board!! When I booked back in October of last year Cathy did tell me that the deck wedding was already taken, which was a good thing 'cause I wanted CC! :-) My wedding is on the first stop at CC! Stop by and shay HI....I will be the one in white..lol

I have yet to send in my packet as well! I just have to deside on the music.
I still say they need to honor their contract! I would still fight for the floral cake topper, 'cause I am going to fight for my mango filling!

Does anyones know what type of sparkling cider they serve? It would seem like a waist to spend 22 dollars on a 3 dollar bottle I can get at wal-mart.

I am also trying to think of ways to cover the podium up so it won't look so icky! Do you think maybe a nice fabric or some fake flowers?

Goldeelox....you are getting off the ship as we get on!!!! Wish you were on the Cruise with US and you could watch the Wedding. I am getting SO EXCITED I have allready started looking at what I want to pack!!

We have our clothes for the wedding, heck that was the easy part...lol I saw a dress shortly after DD told us what they had planned and I took a picture of it sent it to her she loved it and I have had that dress for about 8 months now!!

If I have my way we will be waiting to get on the ship as you are getting off last cruise we took we had a blast chatting with the passengers coming off the ship. If we are there that early this trip I will be looking for you to say HI:thumbsup2

I have the planning guide in front of me (with Brianna's name on it, not from Cathy). Here's what I see:

- In the additional floral section, you can add the "floral cake topper" for $50
- In the cake filling flavors it has Choc Mousse, White Choc Mousse, Strawberry Mousse, Passion Fruit Mousse, Mango Mousse, Bavarian Cream and Butter Cream

We were going to do Choc/choc mousse on top and hopefully the white and mango mousse on the bottom.

We don't drink, especially no champagne for my DH, he gets a bad reaction. I was wondering about the sparkling cider too. My DH says he's actually okay with ginger ale :)

Lisa (goldeloxx) probably has a better idea about the stand thing on CC.

My VR :bride: is on Thurs, hopefully on Deck 7. And I booked Palo, but I don't want to miss Lobster in the main dining room. Do you all think that I may be able to request it at Palo. It will just be my DH and I.

Virginia;

They will give you an alternate in place of the champagne; we had kids with us and they had the gingerale with a cherry in it. Also, we had our VR on Thurs., with Palo, and the lobster was very good...husband loved it. If you click on my link, I posted a picture of it. You can even get 2 servings of it!!!

Cheryl

How likely is it for VRs to be completley booked on a sailing date 6 months out? We started looking last night and it's the latest/most affordable option before hurricane season. I'm really hoping to be able to get in. I'm anxious because I can't go forward with planning until tomorrow. assuming I get to talk to DFTW.

Thank you Cheryl. It's hard for us. We're from NY & Boston originally (actually got engaged in Newport). We didn't know we were so lucky to have seafood so plentiful, until we moved to Atlanta. And now we try to not pass up any opportunity for it. ;)

They allow a total of 3 (wedding / VR) per sailing (1 on Castaway Cay and 2 on board). You can't book until 1 year out. And they won't reserve it for you until you have a reservation. As for how fast it books up, I don't really
know. You'll just have to DFTW and ask if it's open. Good luck!

Come on up....it's running $4.99 per pound right now.

Also, we had kids with us, and one of them went to our table that night while all the adults were at Palo. our server gave him 4 lobsters, since we weren't there!! He was a happy young man!!

Cheryl - you fedex me some lobsters, I will crate you some Navels and grapefruits from our local grove!

How about some stuffed quahogs and chowdah!? :rotfl: Oh, how I miss it!

Maybe I can ship some hot dish on a stick and cheese curds! :lmao:

HI everyone, new to the wedding forum but not the Dis.:flower3:

We have just returned from our first ever Disney cruise and loved every minute of it.:thumbsup2

I have read through this whole thread but being new to this wedding business I have a couple of questions for you experts.

Can anyone tell me what is changing regarding the 2010 wedding packages? Is the price still $2500 for the onboard package?

I have looked everywhere on the net and I just can't find up to date info on prices and packages, its very frustrating.I have tried to make a Wishbook on the Disney weddings website but it won't let me select a date past 2008!

So if anyone can run through what you get for your money and how you go about booking it I would be very grateful.

Many thanks.:goodvibes

Hi Leanne!!

I thought i read for 2010 the price has gone up to $3500. I'm sure it's been posted in this thread somewhere...i'll have to check. As for what you get...a simple standard 2-tier cake, bouquet for bride, boutiner for groom, Disney's standard wedding ceremony, and dinner in Palo for the bride and groom. You would have to pay for pictures as none are included in the package. The Captain does the ceremony's on the ship, and a bahamian offical does the Castaway Cay ceremony. There is a limit to the number of guests you can have on deck 7. You can only book the DCL wedding/vr 1 year out, and you must have already booked your cruise before you can book the wedding.

Let us know if you have any other questions! Good luck!

The Wishbook has been discontinued - it never worked very well anyway, and the prices were usually wrong. They still have the link there so anyone who made one before they discontinued it can still access theirs.

Thank you both for your quick replies.:goodvibes

It would be the onboard wedding we would want on Deck 7 so I'm pleased that the cost hasn't gone up....yet!;)

So can you tell me if all of the following has been removed from the package.:sad2:
Pianist,
Champagne for the toast after the wedding with the cake,
Dress steaming,
Special wedding gift,
$100 onboard credit,
Marriage License,
Champagne and Strawberries delivered to the room,
Bride and Groom Disney pins,
Complementary photo.

How about the stateroom being decorated with rose petals by your stateroom host? I loved the look of that.:sad1:

Thanks for clearing up the Wishbook problem. That would certainly explain it.:rotfl:

Tag team question answering! :rotfl:

Special wedding gift: Yes, except now they tell you what it is (a DFTW cake service set)

$100 onboard credit: Yes

Champagne and Strawberries delivered to the room: Not listed in the packet anymore

Also, don't worry about the prices going up before next year - the $2,500/$3,500 pricing is a fairly recent price increase, and before that prices hadn't increased in about 2 years.

I can email you the 2010 info PDF if you like - just PM me your address! :thumbsup2

Oh you are both wonderful!

I was up until 3am UK time yesterday desperately searching for info. I should have known to come straight here.:thumbsup2

Thanks so much to you both and PM on the way.:yay:
