You know, I didn't see anywhere in my planning kit anything about the vows or ring exchange ect....

When do you actually get to tell them that you "are" doing a ring exchange and stuff so they know to put it into the ceremony?

Do we get the "honor" of speaking to Cathy about this or our wedding coordinator on the ship ?

i posted the VR ceremony back in June I think..but it is very VR specific..he did read it exactly as it was written, even though he chuckled because he knew we had only been married a year

VOW RENEWAL CEREMONY

INTRODUCTION

________ and_________, welcome to the re-affirmation ceremony of your marriage.

On this beautiful occasion, I commend you both. In this day and age, it has becoming increasingly rare to see couples sustain a commitment to each other. By contrast, you are taking this moment at this place to express to the world your continued and growing love for each other.

CEREMONY

So, we have gathered here (in the presence of family and friends) to re-affirm your marriage vows and the love you have for each other.

You entered into this union advisedly and reverently. The years have drawn you closer, not only as husband and wife, but also as the very best of friends.

VOWS
(Turn to face each other and join both hands)

(Husband)
I _______________ re-affirm that you ________________ are my wife and my best friend. I promise to continue my love for you, to cherish you, to honor you, and to keep you. In good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, whatever the future may bring, I shall continue to be true to you all the days of my life.

(Wife)
I _______________ re-affirm that you ________________ are my husband and my best friend. I promise to continue my love for you, to cherish you, to honor you, and to keep you. In good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, whatever the future may bring. I shall continue to be true to you all the days of my life.

At this time, is there anything you would like to say to personally express your love for one another?

RINGS

When you first stood side-by-side for your marriage celebration, you presented to each other a ring. The rings became symbols of your bond and devotion and ever-lasting love.

Today we re-affirm the bond of love by again giving and receiving these rings.

(Husband)
____________________ will you place this ring on the proper finger of your wife and repeat after me…
With this ring, I re-affirm my love and marriage to you, and shall continue to share with you all my life has to offer today, tomorrow and forever.

(Wife)
____________________ will you place this ring on the proper finger of your husband and repeat after me…

With this ring, I re-affirm my love and marriage to you, and shall continue to share with you all my life has to offer today, tomorrow and forever.

CONCLUSION

For as much as you have re-affirmed your wedding vows and endless love for each other, I re-affirm that you are husband and wife.

_________________ , you may now re-affirm your love by kissing your beautiful wife.

Let those present and those who may be told know that standing here before me are
Mr. and Mrs. __________________________.

…And they continued to live happily ever after!

We also had the option of saying something to each other, but we couldn't keep it together enough!

BellaMickey - My Dress too had a sheer overlay...so beach! The seamstress shortend mine by 3 inches and took it in 4 inches on each side....It was perfect.

They play the song, the whole one. We had a First Dance Song, a Father Daughter Dance a Mother Son Dance, and a cake song (sugar sugar) for then we cut the cake. They also played a cd I made of every couples first dance songs before we got there. You do have a little time, it wasnt rushed at all. Our reception was an hour at least, we also had toast from the best man and the maid of honor. It was great!

They added color to our cake, and you can pick two differant flavors for each one of the layers!

I was told it would be at 4:30 or 5:30...that it looked as it would be at 5:30...but now that the Wonder sails out of Nassau earlier..I think it might get bumped up to 4:30..which is ok with me...gives me more time to have pictures taken around the ship before the 6pm Palo

this turned out not to matter..There was a wedding at 4:30 in the Cadillac Lounge and we were at 5:30.
We sailed at 7pm I think..We were in Palo eating when it happened

I feel for all you brides who are having issues with Cathy. My ceremony is going to be very simple...since it's just DF and myself, with my DD as flower girl. I was looking at getting a mad hatter cake, and as I previously posted, Cathy gave me a 1 or 2 word answer to my question. I will probe that request as my sail date gets closer (Aug 20/09)

For those brides who have their ceremony onboard, what exactly is the time line of the day?

Cheers

We re-newed at 5:30 pm. We got up, went to the spa for a couples thing, then I had a hair appt. at 2:00, met up with all the girls at 4:45 (the boys were escorted down stairs around the same time) and then a CM picked us up at the room at 5:20 to take us through the secret passage to the back of Sessions. The entire ceremony thing took an hour, then we had pictures throughout the boat for about 45 minutes, then had Palo at 7:30pm
As most will tell you, the day flies!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry you are all having issues with Cathy; she was always pleasant and helpful with me. I e-mailed her mostly and she always answered my questions.

Merry Christmas

Do we get the "honor" of speaking to Cathy about this or our wedding coordinator on the ship ?

We worked all the real particulars with Florencia once we were on board...so, just have it all ready to give the coordinator. When we spoke with Florencia, she told us that we could add to what was said, and then during the ceremony, the captain turned to us and asked us if we had anything to say to each other....of course we didn't!!!! We've been married 20 years...:lmao:

Don't sweat Cathy.....they know what they are doing on board, just write everything down that you want, and give it to the coordinator. When we entered our room, there was a note waiting for us with an appointment scheduled to see her later that night. They do enough of these to really know what they are doing.

I never bustled my dress, and it had a short train; I just lifted it with the loop that is in the inside of the dress.

We get to book our Palo dinner at 105 days, right? Can we book for our parents to join us for this dinner, even if they can't book till 75 days? It would be wonderful to have both sets of parents join us for a Palo dinner. I am thrilled that both my parents and DH's are joining us on this cruise... neither set has ever cruised before. It seems like getting a table for all of us will be difficult at 75 days. We didn't do Palo on our 4 night cruise last month, knowing we'd have time on the 7 night to relax and really enjoy it without missing Pirate Night, etc. Does Cathy arrange this for me, or do I book Palo on my own or via the TA?

As a Castaway bride I'll get to have the reception in Palo, and that will be very cool, even if it is only cake and champagne! Can we bring our own additional bottles of champagne? My dad has a particular brand he prefers, and I know he'd like to bring it to the reception. So far we have the 4 of us, 4 parents/inlaws, and my dear friend, her hubby and kids (I'm guessing the kids can come to the Palo reception since mine can, right?) so we'd want 2 bottles for sure. Or more! Haha.

Thanks!

cathy should have no problem booking the table, maybe the Palo room if u have 12

I know that the day of the wedding can be changed because of weather or other issues, that being said I was wondering when DD will find out what time the ceremony is "suppose" to be?? She is wanting to make an itinerary of the wedding day to put into the welcome bags she is making. I ordered paper that looks like a treasure map for her to use for this the other day on I believe it was paperpow.com. I was just wondering when she will get the info on the actual time it will take place?? Or does this not happen until they are on the ship??

I know I read on here somewhere that everyone going to the wedding gets something in their room from the cruiseline but I know she wants to do this also.

i was told that it looked like mine would be at 5:30 about 4 months before the cruise ..but, I wouldn't put the date on anything. Patty's had to be changed due to weather issues after they sailed

We were told our time would be 4:30 (I think) about a month out or so. But our DATE changed due to the change in itinerary with the hurricanes we went around. It was still the Nassau day, but that was Tuesday instead of Monday and our time was pretty much still 4:30, just inside instead of outside, due to high winds.

Can we bring our own additional bottles of champagne?

Yes. Disney will add a 15% service charge calculated on their cost for whatever you bring in (not the price you actually paid for it), but considering how high their prices are, it's probably still worth it to bring your own. :thumbsup2

We had some of our own wine in Palo, but they didn't end up charging a corking fee!!

i emailed Cathy but since she hasn't responded yet.... :headache:

If i get the Palo room, what time to do we get?? Can we pick the time or is it set?

Will oru waiter go with us?

do we eat of the regular Palo menu or a seperate one?

oh yeah, got one more....are the guests escorted to the ceremony site on CC? Or do they just make it there themselves??

You have a CC reception in Palo as part of the CC ceremony, right??

If you mean dinner, we were told they have 2 seatings for the Palo Room 6pm and either 8:30 or 9 (can't remember which)
At first, Cathy said it looked like we had the later one which I was SUPER bummed about because I knew that people would not want to stay in a wedding mood for almost 3 hours after the ceremony!!

I will go look through my emails and see when I found out the date she confirmed 6pm, but I was glad..Everyone went straight to Palo after the ceremony while DH and I walked around the deck. We ended up running over our time..they had to kick us out because a group of officers had the second seating!!

You do need 12 - 14 people to get the Palo Room..I asked another couple from our previous cruise who we aren't THAT close to, but still friendly if they wanted to come to make my minimum and they did..she ended up being the one who took all the shots inside Palo for us!

Lisa or Mike can answer you about the guests and CC

From March 25th
Betsy~

They only book the private room two times a night at 6:00pm and 9:00pm. We will request the 9:00pm seating.

Cathy

My reply
Cathy…
If the VR lasts only 30 minutes, what about booking the 6:00pm palo and then we might be a few minutes late..
Since we are planning on eating the cake at Palo anyway..I think that would work? Don’t you??

Cathy's Answer:
Hi Betsy~

I went ahead and booked the Palo Private room for 6:00pm and we are checking if the cake can be set up in that room, or will just be served from the kitchen. The ceremony will now be outside on Deck 7 from 5:30-6:00pm.
