You can totally do a Magic Kingdom Shoot before your Cruise. I loved it, I think it was my favorite part of my whole wedding trip!

well, I'm certainly not superstitious about him seeing me before the wedding, I guess that wouldnt' matter...hmmm, perhaps I'll check it out!!

The cake reception is already in Palo because we are at CC. And i'm going to see if we can arrange for lunch served there rather than eat cake, mingle and relax, then head down for lunch before we go to CC. Not sure how easily that will be accomplished, but i'm going to try.

Lisa your pictures are beautiful!! I love them all!!

By the time we got done with pictures and off the ship, they were done serving lunch at Cookies on CC. We did get a couple sandwhiches and chips, but we were disappointed that we didn't grab something on the ship first.

hey Mike! did you change your cake? It's not the same as what's in my planning kit!! Is there hope for me yet???? :yay:

Nope, that's the standard cake that they gave us. We didn't request anything special.

Yup! :lmao:

so what do you think my chances of getting lunch in Palo are??

I don't want to be a downer, but I doubt they'll serve lunch in Palo for you. There was pretty much nobody in Palo while we were there. Our friend wanted to buy us a second bottle of champagne, and our wedding coordinator had to call around to find someone to get us one from another bar and bring it up.

See, that's what I'm afraid of!! Hungry guests is not good, espically in hot sun. :sad2:

If your VR is at 10 your guest will be done everything wedding related by 11:30 12 at the latest. Our guests all got to the beach like an hour before us. We went around the ship and took pictures with the Photographer, then we got to the beach by 1:00pm, Lunch was still going full force. I don't think your guests will have a problem at all!

Nope, nothing else! But I assure you, my Dh feels the same way. :lmao:

Betsy - yeah, for the sand ceremony, and also for the cake table in Palo. I hope DCL does silk! never thought they wouldn't. :confused3 great, more to think about!! :lmao:

Jennifer - if you go with silk, ANYONE can do them. :rotfl: They're not "real" plant life so you might as well scout out people that will do them for less than Disney (just a thought!) even in your hometown to save some money! I would anyway....just an idea! "Food for Thought"

I just got caught up. :surfweb:

When Lisa, Pete, my fiance Jason and I met at WDW when they were in town I had Lisa chime in (purposefully in front of Jason so I could convince him it's the right thing to do!) that it was perhaps smarter to look into the option of having a photographer cruise with us just so we could have a) a TRUE professional (no offense, Shutters) and a complete disk of our photos. I actually considered this months ago but figured since we're on a tight budget we'd deal with what the cruise offered as long as we could simply buy the disk.

Alas, we cannot as Lisa had investigated. We found an amazing photo-journalistic photographer (the style I love) who is willing to come on the cruise as his "payment" with his wife and give us the disk of photos after our wedding. It's only about $300 more than the $900 package. Plus I figure it's a cool thing for him to put in his portfolio, he gets an awesome trip with his wife, and we get photos that are really awesome, including some "getting ready" shots too!

I contacted DCL and had them put "in writing" (in an email) that this was okay. They said as long as he's a paying guest (my fiance and I are paying for him and his wife) that it's a-okay! :cool1: (Knock on wood - I don't want to jinx it.)

Mikkel - I wouldn't see a problem with a professional photographer there either. I had MANY photographers there (my video was shot with a professional HD camera) and DCL was very good about letting them all take their shots...the captain even called them "paparazzi"

Betsy,

Can I ask approximately how much did it cost you to recreate your flowers that you did at home? I was just looking at the site Lisa posted and it's pretty steep for me right now.

The site I posted is about what my flowers cost for my magic Kingdom shoot. I wouldn't use this high of a quailty for a re-create, but it was posted in case Jennifer wanted it for her main bouquet. I loved my flowers so much though! These (on that site) have a real feel and a look sooo real!

Lisa, were your flowers for you MK shoot silk??? They were gorgeous!!! So very pretty.

shoot..I would guess less than $40..I bought roses, calla lilies, some jade flowers like look like large roses (couldn't find jade roses) and orchids..some palm things that looked like the greenery and some palm strips for the finish. I had saved my ribbon from the original

I also bought wire and floral tape since the orchids came several to a stem

That is a really great idea! :thumbsup2

Ok VR Brides!! I have a question.

On the day of our DCL VR, do I dress in my state room or do they allow me to get ready someplace else? I'm just wondering if I will have enough room to get ready with this big poofy dress?

I don't know of anywhere available to dress other than a stateroom. My bridesmaid was in the royal suite, so I dressed there..made it easy to have my girls help me with hair, veil and dress

Maybe the dressing room area in the spa. They have showers, lounge chairs, etc. If you got your hair done right before you dress, you could just walk in there...Very roomy!!
