I have just been following this thread for a while now. Thanks for all of your help and ideas. We are about a month away from our cruise date. We leave for FL in 23 days! We are very excited and can't wait to get this show on the road. YAY!

Hi i know lots of us are having trouble with Shanda. My question when did you get your final budget from her. We are about 44 days till our cruise. she was suppose to sent it to me yesterday. How does it come by email or mail. thanks

We haven't received ours yet, although we're still a few months away. I believe they're supposed to mail it to you, but I'm not positive. I hope she gets it to you soon!

i believe that when you hand in your packet they go over the final budget. good question though

It looks like we're having an Escape! Joe is holding Sunset Pointe and the MK shoot before for us and I booked the infamous Reverend Jack Day! I booked all 8 for us for the Wishes Dessert party that evening (public but still cool) and I'm so excited about riding Space Mountain on my wedding day!! Haha I'm yea geek I know! The only thing we're waiting for now if to make sure our families can book rooms at WDW, and of course the refund from DCL.

I hope your cruise wedding work out, and I really hope Shanda gets her rear end in gear!

aw, im happy that your happy with your decision. what did shanda say when you were canceling? im pretty sure she wasnt too disappointed because your still having a DFTW. Good luck with everything!

Thank you so much! I really hope things improve for you guys. I made a LOT of noise- I had multiple people calling, emails to every DWTW address I could find, and most importantly- a mom determined to make this the happiest day of my life. Now I must say- everyone was polite and respectful. There was no ranting, raving, yelling, screaming, nonsense. We all called, expressed our concerns and asked to be transferred to someone higher up, to whom we repeated everything. We just made sure we called at different times so we could reach as many different people as possible.

I know what you mean about canceling and doing it all at home- that's exactly what we were planning on doing until I heard about the Escape promotion on here. I never really paid attention to those things since they didn't pertain to me. The though of doing it at home was enough to make me want to put it off a few years until we could afford a bigger one at WDW.

I'm sure it will turn out fantastic! There's a lot of time between now and then- hopefully a lot of the kinks will get worked out. I'm still a bit jealous of those of you getting married on DCL. We were really looking forward to the Dream and Castaway Cay, but it just didn't seem to be working out.

I fully intend to follow along with your planning! That goes for everyone here in fact! You guys have been so wonderful and so helpful- I can't thank you enough!

Thanks! And, uh, yea I don't think Shanda actually knows yet! Well, she obviously knows I complained- all of a sudden she had answers to questions I'd been waiting months for! I really mean all of a sudden- as in hours after calling to complain. Coincidence? I think not- especially since this is the second time I called to complain and received an immediate response.

My TA will be doing the dirty work for me. That woman certainly has worked her tail off for me! I owe her a lot. We're just waiting to make sure everyone gets Disney booked, flights changed, officiant, contract, etc. Joe's also confirming the availability of the park shoot. I took care of the officiant and contract today. Joe sent me the info for the LOA less than 48 hours after first contact, and that's in addition to 4 separate emails with pricing, availability, officient list, cosmetology, etc. He just seems so much more enthusiastic- like he really wants to help, not like he's just doing a job. It's quite the difference in treatment!

DF and I have our hotel pkg set- and with the money we've saved we're upgrading to POR! My TA has a hold on rooms for everyone else using my pin code (which could apparently book up to 3 rooms, who knew?).

is anyone considering getting their marriage license in their home state to save the money and time? the weekend before we leave for the cruise getting them done so that can be one less thing we have to worry about when we actually get to florida lol. we are going to be in florida for 1 whole day before we set sail and i keep getting these thoughts that i get down there to get my license and theres an issue. What are you girls doing? waiting or getting them in your home state?

I do not think you can get them in your home state because you are getting married in Florida. I plan to go through Brevard County cause you can do it by mail. I saw it one of the threads.

Thanks! May 16- is it during your trip? It's 1 day earlier that CC would've been. Glad I didn't have anything personalized with the date, lol.

We did it! We are married. I boarded the ship last Sunday with a huge list of questions not answered by Shanda, but we managed. Everything was wonderful. Our On board corrdinator was Rufaro. She is excellent. The weather was sunny and high 70's. The outlook is very nice and cozy. Has a piano in there that was played and sweeping views of the water. Was great for our cake cutting, but would also be wonderful for an on board ceremony. Everyone was very nice and they made sure all the details were perfect. We did the big photo package. So Rufaro made sure the photographer took plenty of picture. We had Andre. He was wonderful and I highly recommend him. His pictures are gorgeous and he takes his time to get the right picture. He even carried my shoes when I took them off to walk on the sand. The cake was beautiful, but don't get the buttercream filling. I really think it was just butter. Kind of weird. The cake was very moist.

If you are considering canceling your cruise over Shanda's lack of communication, please know her attitute is not carried over to the ship. Everything was well planned and well carried out.

We are officially getting married a few days before we leave for FL in CA and then having the ceremony in on the Ship, conducted by my sister. Since the Captain of the Ship can't really officially marry us anyway, this wasn't a problem and everything is coming along nicely!

Shanda sent us our final budget on Jan 31st by email and our wedding cruise departs Port Carnaveral on Feb 24th if this helps! She also sent me the name of the group coordinator today (Panos).

We were able to reserve the Chefs' Table at Remy the night before the wedding. I don't know if it was the request I sent or the request that Shanda sent - we ended up sending one ourselves when Shanda was difficult to get hold of. We heard that we had the Private Table from a friend who will be attending the meal with us when she found out that she couldn't reserve Remy because she was already eating at the Private Table!!! How funny, eh??
