im having a on board ceremony. i wanted to have all day to play on castaway cay were big kids! plus the new disney dream will be beautiful and were not that big fans of Nassau so its a win win for us.

i am in the middle of cooking, but before I forget...

My number one regret is NOT hiring an outside photographer and not having someone take bridal shots in the suite before the wedding..you know, getting hair done..getting the dress on shot..I have a few but not "portrait" shots

I have been watching this board for a bit. Does anyone have the number to the DCL wedding planners assistant? She is out of the office and I need to talk to her assistant.

A bit about us ...

We ran away so never had a wedding ... Planned one that we called off then ran away as the stress was way to much ...

It's been 14 years of marriage so were doing a vow renewal on the PC cruise that leaves on Jan 6th.

Mickey is joining us for cake ... ect
None of our family could join the cruise do to the time of year so we have some DIS peeps joining in!

My two Daughters are standing up with us. They will be in Coral. Hubby in a black tux with Coral vest, bow tie. I am gonna wear a fitted beaded gown, very simple!

My DD's and I will have the tropical flowers.

I truly hope when I get on they will let me add a lil color to my cake! Coral or lime green or both would be amazing!

I don't care, I get to finally have a few pictures of hubby and I celebrating our love! I think it means more now that we have been through the ups and downs ... we were very low on funds when we got together. After earning degrees, having kids, raising kids and dealing with a serious illness ... It just seems to have more meaning now!

We are having it on Deck 7 ...
I thought I read we get priority for booking the private Palo room. Is that correct?

ok..If you are having DIS friends come, have them go to the little deck 8 above the ceremony and get some above shots..I wish I had thought of this..they can hear perfect..but you will get some great shots!

At one time, being a wedding party gave you priority for the Palo Room but it only seats 12-14..I had 13 so I got it...now, you have to wait 30 days prior and it is first come.

Cheryl had it in the middle of Palo..I think she had over 30 people

it is first come first served for Palo, but it's not 30 days. Check with the DCL board, but I think you can REQUEST the private room *** soon as you book, then they confirm it 30 days prior. that was one of my problems when booking, DFTW told we we would book it at 30 days, then I found out on the DCL board that anyone is allowed to request it as soon as they book, but it isn't confirmed until 30 days. and DFTW does not give you priority to kick someone out out who already has it booked. so get your request in early.

are the private rooms just for Morning weddings? is it just a spot for where they have cake and share a dance or two? or could it be for any ceremony? like for late afternoon weddings, could they do private dinner rooms?


i really dont know what i would do without you girls .... i never recieve any information of these options from my wedding coordinator.

right now (i don't know if it will change with the Dream) if you have your wedding on Castaway Cay, it's usually around 10am, then you go back to Palo for cake and dancing. Usually takes an hour.

If you get married on the ship, it's usually 4:30 or 5:30pm, and you have cake and dancing right there, again usually an hour.

We are NOT impressed with DFTF right now. I have had only one live conversation and that was with Joe. I have gotten a confirmation email and been charged. I have emailed and called over half a dozen times with NO response. I did get a out of office voicemail once, but have gotten nothing and have been trying to get in touch with Shanda for weeks. We are considering cancelling if this is the type of service we can expect. Have any of you experienced this?

I too have had a hard time getting a hold of Shanda...I am still waiting to hear from her regarding a question I asked about two weeks ago. It is a bit frustrating, but I still am a year away so I am not in panic mode yet

Every time I email Shanda it always takes at least a week to hear back from here. The longest I have waited to hear back was 3 weeks, and that was when I was trying to book a MK photo pkg

I had a standard email about 3 weeks ago, and a promise that I would be called the next day. She didn't, I chased, and emailed still no further reponse. Im no longer doing a vow renewal, figured obviously I wasnt that important. Now we are going to arrange for flower/wine/chocs in room, book Palos or Remy, if we can, then stroll onto the deck at moonlight and say our own vows to one another. we could even use the onboard photographers for a few photos. We feel this will be more personal and a lot less expensive.

Not defending her, as she IS a bit slow to return calls, but I do know she was on a business cruise last week and just returned Monday.

DF and I have talked to her once, the rest has been through email.

The cost of my wedding was done as an add on to my cruise so we are paying for it as we pay for our cruise.
