I am looking for a "Budget" Disney cruise book to throw into the Christmas box as part of the surprise. Anyone have one to recommend that was helpful and it would be even better if it is tween friendly to read.

Passporter disney cruise line and its ports of call. Around fourteen dollars on amazon for the 2010 version. Older versions for much less on half.com but they are not up to date. Birnbaum also has a disney cruise guide for about eleven dollars on amazon. It might be a little more tween friendly.

I don't have the Passporters cruise book, but the Birnbaum's cruise book is good. It's simple, straight forward, and not overloaded with details. It's a good "intro" to DCL I think.

Are you a AAA member? If so, contact them and they'll send/give you the DCL tourist cruise book for free. Otherwise, DCL used to send you one upon request. It doesn't hurt to call and ask.

I was able to get the Passporter DCL book at Borders with a 40% off coupon making it $12.00 - and then I also got the Hidden Mickey's Go To Sea book on half.com for about $5 shipped (used).

The passporter is the best way to go. Birnbaum just spouts the party line!

I think the passporter is the best way to go as well. If you want truly budget and you are not going on the new ship or new itinerary, try getting one of the older versions of the passporter on ebay. Although not completely-up-to date, alot of the information is very similar.

Does anyone with the current passporter know if it talks about the new boat Dream? It looks like that is the one that has sailings that work for us. I just wasn't sure where I could get more information on a ship that isn't sailing yet.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

If for a tween I think the Birnbaum's would be a good book. Passporter has a lot of details and is a great book, but it might be to much for a tween.

As far the other poster's information about the Dream information. I am not sure how much information is in the 2010 version of Passporter regarding the Dream since that book came out in May/June and a lot of details have been released since then. If you visit the cruise forum you can get loads of information about the Dream. Passporter does have great information about the excursions, castaway cay and will be very helpful in regards to planning your cruise.
