if you're an only child, or the only teenager, do you still go into the teens only club by yourself? my mom is thinking of booking a trip on a cruise but i'm an only child and don't really want to go in and look like a loner. haha

My niece was either 16 or 17 last time we went on the Wonder. She was in the Teen Loft very late each night and met a lot of other kids her age. She enjoyed meeting all of them and kept in touch with some of them for a while after the cruise.

On the other hand, her sister was about 11 and was way too mature for the Oceaneer's Lab. One look past the door and she said to me "I'd rather read a book in the room than stay here." She was somewhat lonely because her sister had other plans each night and she only had me to hang out with.

Based on the older niece's experience, I bet that you'll be comfortable in the Teen area if you enjoy meeting others and having fun. You can come and go as you please.

Of course you can/should still go to the teen club! Im sure someone/multiple people will talk to you;) I haven't ever been to a teen club because im going on my first cruise in April, but im sure that everyone is very nice and will talk with you :goodvibes

I'm an only child and last July I went on my first Disney cruise (5 nights)-- it was awesome!

I went to the teen club the first night and it was mostly just a briefing on how we can't drink or do drugs or anything. Then they did a dance party type thing, which was basically one very outgoing girl dancing and a whole bunch of people sort of moving back and forth around her.

I'm kind of shy when I first meet new people, and I didn't really enjoy that whole experience, so I left early with another girl who was also a little uncomfortable (I believe she was an only child, too). We talked for a little while outside of the noisy club and then went our separate ways. I saw her a couple times throughout the cruise, but it didn't exactly become a lasting friendship.

I went back to the teen club once after that. I pretty much stood there for a few minutes, but instead of the games that the navigator showed it was just a couple of groups of people talking, so I left (it was kind of awkward :rolleyes1). Even though the teen club didn't really work out for me, I still loved the cruise. There was so much to do and I didn't feel like a loner at all :)

go onto the disboard cruise thread and find your sailing. post saying you are a teen looking to make friends before the sailing. i met several teens before i even got onto the ship, and met them on the first day at the disboard meet. we went into the Vibe at night after dinner, and it was waaay less intimidating then going in by yourself. by day seven at castaway we where a group of 17 and we talk every week on FB. it really helps knowing someone, people want to be apart of a group. i'm a very shy individual and have a hard time oepning up to new people, but we were all hugging and crying on the last night. i opened up to more of them then friends back home. and it's better if you go to the club on the frist night. if you don't meet someone through the boards, start a conversation with a compliment, it always gets the other person talking.

i am an only child and i always go to the clubs and meet tons of people. if you want to meet some people in advance, go on the cruise board and find your cruise date and see how many teens you can find. some of the cruises have a tween/teen section as well so it would just be the tweens and teens on there. i've been doing that and have already met a few people i will be hanging with :). when will you be going??

thanks everyone! i never thought of going on the cruise board, i guess i should, huh?:P
